No indication of traps that he can see, but signs of fighting. The body is harder to reach however as it lays submerged quite deeply and Garrot is not a good swimmer.
It looks like the floor itself had given way here.

OOC: Vadania has mentioned to Garrot that she was considering getting the treasure in the lake now that she could cast a breath water spell. That might be useful to Garrot about now...

(Clearwater was also held in the monastery, and it is likely both Burr and the barbarians have small quantities - it was a traded commodity, though with the fall of the town an increasingly rare and valued one)

As the group awaits Ka'lions return each sets about preparing for the next adventure. Vadania speaks with the priestesses about any chance of recovering the monastary, but they all fear falling under the same influence that claimed their sisters should they come closer. They also speak of the defenses that have been set up protecting the gates but believe that it might be possible to approach through hidden caves to the south - known to only a few and with luck not to any that had fallen. Vadania and Ylva scout out the area, finding it unguarded though the entrance to the caves looks narrow at best and the priestesses are unsure of just how navigable they would prove. The caves are not far from the ancient tree Ka'lion appeared at and Vadania takes a moment to visit the site. While she finds no more sign of magic or hidden treasure than Ka'lion her wooden blade glows a pale golden colour when it is near. Vadania will bring the wooden sword right up to the ancient tree and hold it against the trunk of the tree to see what happens.

Vadania can feel a spark of connection between the weapon and the tree, and the weapon feels a little different in her hand afterwards but she can see no visible difference in the blade.

When she gets back to town Vadania will test her sword to figure out how it feels different.

Vadania practices for a while back at camp, against the guards. Little seems to have changed but as she walks away past the archery targets to speak with Ka'lion the sword responds of it's own accord, knocking a nearby arrow aside.
(Protection from arrows, 1/day as an immediate action - you can use it in response to being shot at)

Vadania comments to no one in particular, "That could be handy when charging archers."
OOC: I think we're mostly waiting on Garrot. Maybe he'll come back and get the rest of us to help.

As the sun gets low Garrot still does not appear, and both Vadania and Ka'lion grow concerned at his absence. They learn from the blacksmith that he had gone to explore an old flooded fane - perhaps he had gotten into trouble.
(i'll continue on with this as a side quest - rhinobullet can jump back in when he logs on again)

Garrot wrestles with what to do, as he simply is too curious to leave. However, he decides be had best go back and get the others, to see if they will return with him to the statute. He has already had a bath this week, and doesn't relish the idea of getting wet if he can avoid it.

The fane is an ancient, mostly buried stone temple. It's flooded interior has collapsed in many places and little is easily accessible from the surface but Garrot leads the group into an area where the stone floor had recently fallen away.
Peering into the water they can see a fallen figure - perhaps a statue, perhaps not, as the water is not clear enough to make out much beyond the shape and the reflection of the lantern light from metal.
