Ka'lion will swim to the object and wrap it in his net and tie his rope to it, then take the other end of the rope and tie it to his big horse.

It is indeed the body of a warrior, and several other items lay around him including a rune-encrusted axe and pieces of parchment. The body is quite deep underwater however and heavy in it's armour, and Ka'lion not a strong swimmer. As he struggles to tie a rope around the warrior however he catches something in the shadowy light from above - a large, lithe, and most definitely not human shape rushing towards him. Perhaps the same thing that had battled the warrior above before he fell to a watery grave.


Roll init and post actions, those above can make out the shape moving through the water - it's going for speed rather than stealth.
The body (and Ka'lion) lay about 14 feet underwater.

Ka'lion draws his acid dagger and crouds down so he can move quickly to the top of the water jumping off the bottom of the floor.

Vadania will shift into the form of a crocodile and slither into the water to assist Ka'lion. She asks Garrot to be ready to stab with his spear if the monster comes near the surface. She counts on Lynette to pick an appropriate enchantment. Hopefully Ka'lion won't mistake her for another monster!

OOC: I thought changing form and slipping into the water is her action. If she can do more...

Vadania dives down with a few strokes of her powerful tail. She takes a closer look at the shape, and if it's definitely hostile she tries to latch onto it with her powerful jaws. If it's another crocodile she'll try talking to it. If it's something else that might not be hostile, well she'll consider that when she see's it.

Vadania finds the creature to be surprisingly large and powerful given it's lithe form, and now that she can see it up close it has the appearance of a strange long-necked half monkey half jackal... thing. Most curious of all is it's tail, tipped with a muscular and clawed hand.

Vadania's bite wounds it but it quickly breaks free and dives away to the side away from the light above.

Ka'lion makes it safely to the surface. Below the creature moves away quickly, though not so quickly that Vadania could not pursue.

Garrot will ready his spear on the off chance the creature surfaces. He ponders what to do if the thing doesn't decide to surface.

Once Ka'lion is safely out of the water, Vadania looks around to see if that creature is coming back. If not, she'll continue to keep an eye out for it while she retrieves the body and items near it one by one, using her jaws to carry things and bringing them up to the surface for the others to examine.

The dead man, killed and somewhat gnawed, has an unusual collection of artifacts beyond the runic hand-ax seen in the light of the lantern. His equipment suggests that of a warrior - a heavy brigandine coat similar to that worn by Altar supplemented by greaves, gauntlets, and a full helm, a bastard sword made of greenish steel, a light crossbow, and a collection of travelling items such as a bedroll, candles, waterlogged food, and ammunition.

The man also carries a money pouch that has fallen open - there is no sign of it's contents though it is odd that the other values have not been taken. Stranger still he carries a number of scrolls that appear arcane in nature and Vadania brings up the remains of several more that appear to have been chopped in half.

The party carries the stuff found outside into the sun so they can look it over but the green sword and hand-axe currently intrest Ka'lion as does the armor to a lesser degree. Once outside someone should cast detect magic on all of the items found.
