Will do.
Note that I don't think I could AFFORD to buy a set of lock picks... So for now his war hammer back-up weapon will double as a lock pick.

If there is still room, I have just rolled up a halfling rouge to use in this campaign. Once I am able to copy my stats to my computer, I will post the character here for review by our fantastic DM.

Is it just me, or are these characters very powerful on a 35 point buy? I thought standard point buy for 5th edition was 27 points? I mean, I will take the increased stats, I was just wondering if there was a reason for the increased based stats.

I mean, I will take the increased stats, I was just wondering if there was a reason for the increased based stats. The reason for the increased base stats is because several players are moving their characters over from the previous 5th Ed sample game, which had a very high point limit. The idea was to let them continue with the same characters with a minimum of changes. I'm not planing on a especially difficult game where you'll need superhuman stats though. And even as a player I thought 35 was a bit high. So if a majority of players would prefer a lower limit I'll be happy to go with that.

2 things:
1) Is there room for one more?
2) Yeah, 35 is too high.

Yes, there is room for one more.
How does everyone else feel about the point buy limit?

Honestly, I think it should be lowered to standard. Unless you want players to be quite powerful, it might be a bit overdone. That and I'm not really even sure what level we're starting at. Are we starting at level one?

Lowering it to a standard value would probably be prudent. 35 points is very high in this system. Especially since you can't buy above 15, so the array ends up looking like 15/15/15/12/10/10 or something silly like that.

Yes, we're starting at level 1.
Looks like at least 3 players prefer the standard point buy, so we'll go with that. As pointed out, the 35 point buy gives little variation in stats.
This means that characters will need to be adjusted.

I don't have the books and would like to stick to the pointby points for my first character, it would be very time consuming to have to redue it. Changing abilty mods would mean chaninging a lot of things.

Wait, are we using 27 or 32? 27 is the normal point buy. We are using 27 points. The cost is different then 3.5. I'll post the cost chart later tonight.

I have it here:
8 - 0 9 - 1 10 - 2 11 - 3 12 - 4 13 - 5 14 - 7 15 - 9
It doesn't go higher than 15, although you can get it higher with race/feat bonuses.
