Ka'lion will get some help but he's stacking all plane related books, all religion related books and all arcane related books and all knowledge nature books. Everything else he puts back on the shelves but in no particular order. He'll skim through them looking for information on outer plane creatures and he'll see if he can buy them - so he can take them with the party. He wants to put 4 ranks in knowledge planes next level, Now what can he trade his armor for?

OK, wouldn't have noticed the extra level since cure light wounds was already maxed out. The extra dice of healing could be very handy though! I've added it to Vadania's character sheet.
Since Vadania's armor is already magical, the bracers don't help her, so Ka'lion can have them. Will they work even if he doesn't wear armor, enchanting his cloths instead?

Ka'lion will get some help but he's stacking all the books Ka'lion finds several thousand books stored, frequently without title or written in languages unknown to him, some bound with locks and claps, others fragile or faded, and most lengthy and hard to read. (Ka'lion can search the library until he finds a few books on the outer planes but it would take days if not weeks to read through just a few books - enough to justify putting his skill up (to a maximum of 5 at 7th level) but finding more specific information here would not be an easy task, requiring skill checks)From the books that Ka'lion finds the priests are able to find a suitable one that he might take on his journey, more of an introductionary treatise than anything else but exactly what Ka'lion needs with his limited experience of the subject. Over the next few days Vadania sees little of Ka'lion or Lynette, the latter spending more time with her sisters. Garrot is similarly withdrawn as he attends to the damaged construct with the aid of the smith here and keeps watch over the magical seal the group has locked away inside. Word that the gate is open and secure moves quickly through the fell and a handful of travellers and merchants have begun to arrive, collecting together until their numbers are great enough to move as an organised caravan. Among them is the curious Aldreda and her shadow wolf - though Ka'lion is too occupied in the library to be aware of her arrival, and a winged humanoid clearly not native to the fell. The search of the library takes some time and Vadania comes to interrupt Ka'lion a few days later - the delegation from Clearwater has arrived. ---------------------------- The bracers will work with ordinary clothes. To use them in wildshape however you would have to put them on in wildshape (as a bracer-wearing chimp for instance) and they will fall to the ground when you revert to human form.
The armour can be used either in part-trade with the priests or the mages, depending on what kind of items or information you want from it. Usual rules apply - you get less value out of items that are more useful to you.
I'm baffled as to why Ka'lion wants to dump is cape/armour without a sensible replacement though. With it and the bracers he has a decent AC of 20 plus dodge and spells. Without any he is AC 12, dropping to AC 8 when he rages/charges - random CR 1/3 goblin stick throwers would hit him on a 5+ and CR 6 encounters like ettins literally cannot miss short of fumbling

Ka'lions keeping the cap and the bracers, which is chainmail class both can be worn by animals. Although super dogs going to look a bit silly, But it's all an issue of weight, confort and noticed limitations to him - he likes to pack lightly and feels the heaver and more limiting his gear that the more likely he is to die. He blames the armor for not being able to hit the demon - in part do to the armors minuses to dexterity - yeah I know his dextrally will never be high enough to be noticed game wise, But it is a limitation and Ka'lion doesn't like his gear interfering with his movement. The new feats limitation has raised his concerns about movement. So he's down sizing.

OOC: A 6th level character with the armour class of a poorly equipped 1st level NPC warrior is going to get the stuffing kicked out of them in every combat encounter.
When you reach a high enough level to use wild-shape this will stop being a problem, but until then if you are getting rid of the armour you'll need to find some other way to protect yourself. Ka'lion can't grind his way up to level 8 fighting goblins a 1 HD warriors.

Next level he'll take a level as a druid - although I wanted to take it as barbarian. If you remember Ka'lion started the game studying with monks and monks and wizards don't wear armor. He's concerned about being able to move. What I'd want for him are bracers of defense 8 - but that's not what I'm going to get. So I'm trying give him what he can get. Part of the problem is his strength is low - weight limits - they add up which is why I hate point buy games but I agreed to it to test out a few concepts. Over all he's okay but there are times he makes choices on appearance sake - bracers are cool - armor issent. And it's not. He's following a monks gears lead - anything they'll wear he would.

Vadania and Ka'lion make their way to a vantage point to watch the arrival of the mages from Clearwater, surprised to see not just Altar but also Melwyn with them and the same uniformed guards that had arrived at his home not so long ago. The mages uniformly wear shadowy robes, similar to those worn by Ka'lion. Lynette had spoken to Vadania briefly about them but even she knew little - the mages were a legend of the past from the time of the first tempests of Burr Town. They had not been seen in many generations but there were many stories of citadels hidden within the mountains by magic, with thick obsidian walls and arcane guardians. Despite appearances they were not reputed to be necromancers. Part of the problem is his strength is low - weight limits OOC: Trade up for the sword the merchant offered you earlier, +2 strength. So long as Ka'lion doesn't rub them the wrong way, the mages from Clearwater will offer a straight trade - his armour for a lighter but less protective shadow robe. His current armour is 7lbs, the lighest robes weigh a third of that but offer barely any protection.

Vadania cannot see Eldon among the group, however when the senior mages are led into the grand hall to meet with the priesthood Altar moves away to seek her out. He brings mixed tidings - the mages had at first seemed to be seeking alliance with the demonic forces below Clearwater but then turned upon them, bringing down the ancient magic that had covered the old city over. Their motivations were as shadowy as their appearance and Eldon had remained behind in the hopes of learning more, a guest rather than a prisoner or so it seemed.
As the two talk away from the others Ka'lion takes a more direct approach. A few mages remained outside the hall with the entire contingent of warriors, 20 men in all, who to his eyes holding in barely tempered aggression but defer immediately when commanded by one of their sorcerous masters. Ka'lions attire brings immediate attention and a muttered comment of an 'older design', and a deal is struck.
Uncomfortable around the warriors Ka'lion soon departs their company and seeks out the merchant - who he finds in conversation with the a curious winged figure, one who must have arrived while Ka'lion was hidden away in the library.

"Ka'lion - a reluctant hero. I to have traveled far. More then 3,000 miles. I spend most of my time arguing with my parties captain. Our current argument is about me trading for lighter armor - armor that offers better protection but I don’t like for my armor to interfear my skills. My current armor does and could cause me to fall to my death while climbing or drown me while swimming. Both of which I enjoy doing.
My captain doesn’t agree with me but if your looking for a party that makes a difference for the batter you can talk to my captain. Vadania should be recuiting new party members as we are a little short handed.” said Ka’lion , shaking Brennen’s hand. “ Once I’m done with my trades. I’ll help you find her.”

Vadania said, " I'm glad to hear that Eldon is all right, though I had been hoping that he had returned with you. I have found in ancient summoning circle that is activated by moonlight, and I'm trying to figure out what it is that it summons. I found the book in the same place with illustrations of summoning circles, but when I asked one of the priestesses to translate all she said was that the book was heretical. You think you could help with that? I'm hoping this is something that could help in the fight against the demon, but I would like to be sure that before I allowed to circle to fully activate. Oh, and by the way. Ka'lion is here as well, just as crazy as ever. That I should warn you before you ran into him unexpectedly." OOC: I just had a thought, it'd be really nice if the summoning circle summoned a nice frontline fighter so that the ranged fighters (the rest of the group) could do their thing without dealing with enemies in their face.

I'd be glad to join you if you'll have me, as long as you aren't one of those shady sorts of parties."
He frowns for a moment, then flips a coin. As it leaves his hand, the light in the room near him darkens into shadowy moonlight. He catches the coin, returning it to his pouch with a grin, and the ambient light returns to normal. "Shady in the figurative sense, of course."

"I'm afraid we seem to be unable to avoid shadowy elementals. They've nearly killed us a dozen times. But we try not to invite evil into the group. Or people driven by money only. Currently the idea is to defeat demons but we are clearly unable to do so without a deities assitences.
So I think we need additional training first. My captain doesn’t think that far ahead. Her preferred combat style is walk in trigger the trap and then stand and fight and she calls it wisdom. And some people think I’m crazy. I’m just careful. But you’ll need to forgive her flawed judgement. She means well.” said Ka’lion
