Vadania is somewhat interested, but is more concerned with finding what happened to Scar first. Still, she may want to return here to investigate. "This might have made a better home for you Ka'lion, it looks more solid and apparently has a exit to elsewhere inside."

The path ends here, with not way that Vadania can see for a wolf to have moved beyond - either Scar is inside or changed direction at some point before reaching the entrance to the crevice.
It has taken the party less than ten minutes to reach this location, and will take less than half that to return at a more steady pace. If the wolf is inside signs of their passage would be easier to see in the dust of the sheltered building, but such a place would also prove an inviting home for many more dangerous things.

"Scar's not going to be here. If you want to explore that's fine with me. But I see no longer anything to gain searching for Scar. As fare as a place to live - what attracted me to the dragons keep was that a dragon had it built and the magic inside the place. I'm simply going to need to take a day to call for a new companion. Scar was dependable. Now he's free." says Ka'lion, "I'll miss him." Ka'lion finds a place outside to call for a new companion.

Ka'lion finds a place outside to call for a new companion. Any outdoor location is suitable including the current location, but he will need a day of uninterrupted prayer. The remnants of collapsed buildings near the entrance are secluded enough and somewhat sheltered or the group may continue on for now. Bears and wolverines are available here, among other animals.

Ka'lion plants himself down in the snow, deciding it better to summon a new companion than continuing the search for his missing wolf. His protective magic should shelter him from the weather during the ritual.
Vadania in particular is less than thrilled with the location as the high ground to either side would disadvantage the party. The fortification and whatever magic it might contain also looms large only a short distance away and the group had not travelled nearly far enough away from the ruins of the dwarven settlement for Vadania to consider them safe from the ghosts.
Scanning the area Brennen sees no active magical auras save from those on the groups weapons and equipment.

Vadania would still like to find what happened to Scar. Also, since Ka'lion is staying right here for a day, the rest of us might as well take a look inside to see what's causing the breeze and to see if there just happen to be any oversized wolf prints in the snow that's drifted inside.

Orns shrugs and looks towards Brennen, the warrior seems content either standing guard here or accompanying the group inside.
Taking the short trek up to the entrance Vadania peers inside to see a few steps leading up to a hallway, with two rolls of crumbling pillars on either side. Though she is no expert on architecture she can clearly see that the steps, raised floor, pillars, and what she can make out of the far wall are all of non-dwarven construction as they have not weathered the years well - this is a curious structure within a structure.
Looking over the lighter covering of snow from the doorway there are clear signs that something or someone has been through here within the last day, though hours of snow have mostly covered the tracks. The snow also outlines a large square tile in the floor at the top of the steps, dead centre in the hallway, but the snow on top obscures any pattern or symbol it might carry.

The stone slab seems disconnected from the rest of the ground, Brennen suspects a pressure plate and looking towards the far wall can make out a few relatively uniform gaps in the seemingly cracked wall - a dart trap or similar.
He marks out the edge of the plate clearly in the snow, there is space to move around or jump over. Looking back he can see no sign of darts, arrows, or any other projectiles on the ground.
(did you bring Orns/Ylva or leave him/them to guard Ka'lion outside? - Ka'lion is about a minutes walk down the path from the doorway)

Let's leave Ylva to guard Ka'lion and bring Orns inside with us. Wolves make good guards, and Brennen can bring two medium-size creatures with him when he teleports, so if the party needs to make an emergency "bamf" getaway for whatever reason, Ylva's size would be a liability.

Vadania's inclination would have been to leave Orns and bring Ylva, to take advantage of Ylva's nose. And because Ylva is Vadania's oldest and best friend. But Brennen's suggestion makes sense, so we'll do it that way. Vadania will set Ylva to guarding Ka'lion and then go exploring.

Orns readies his shield and holds it out ahead, moving to the side of the floor plate as the group advance cautiously watching for more traps.
Reaching the base of the steps Orns prods at them with his sword testing pressure plates when Vadania catches movement out of the corner of her eye, humanoid figures emerging from the shadows wearing hooded robes and carrying scimitars at the ready - they move silently and quickly to flank the group and attack without any kind of warning or provocation.

Since they were attacking without any attempt to talk first, Vadania did the same, sending a searing beam from her Sunlight Shard at the closest. Having selected spells for tunnel clearing, she didn't have much in the way of combat spells.
