I admit to being a bit confused as to why George is distrusting of Vadania. The best I can figure out is that he doesn't trust her because Ka'lion ran off on his own instead of going with the rest of the party, and that somehow meant we had abandoned him instead of him abandoning us. Definitely not the reception I was expecting!

George is suffering from depression, has the weight of being a father figure among other things. Seeing shamious dad burn alive reminded him of the slow painfull sickness he dad had. Its why george became a Cleric in the first place, but he was too late for his dad.

So The one person he gets along with the most and understands him was not there and he needed very badly to get a lot of what was going on off his chest among worry for his best friend.

Vadania kept asking in public with strangers around. What was wrose the party just kept trying to get george to " get out of the house and party and tell him he had to go when he said please let me stay in i dont feel like it today."

Your words implied these things if you realized it or not. Its why i said there were misunderstandings then they just kept happing with no change, because the inn fighing just continued.


Did without even a lick of carring what he was asking for was to talk the one person who would talk sence into him.

Then someone told him if he tried he would get that person offed meaning his only last hope would be dead. Putting him into a full panic state.


Then we got all back together in fighting set back in making him feel useless and more depressed because no one wanted to do what he was requsting for.



Shamious even asked that you put him first beacuse he did not know how to hanndel it.

But what did you do when george said he was not going into the water

Its like you did not respect what ether of them were telling you.

When your friend says no that will kill me, dont dump sault in the wound telling them to flout on the bottom. When they are at the bottem of thier sole fighting to just live.

Again none of you knew i get that, but i feel he tried to give you chances and you did not take them.

At that point he gave up trying.


He knew if he dived in he was not comming out alive and he said " I'LL drown so im not going.

all you needed to do was ask

his reply would be not in public lets go talk over here. Then he would unload about everything.

Please Remind me other then he came back when he asked for ka'lion anything out of being selish or for himself? So the one time when he asked the party for once put his well being first they could not and have not since he got back.

Spells selected, based on the assumption that we're going to try and retrieve the gems from the ship wreckage.

How many are going? The water breathing spell will last 14 hours divided by the number of targets it's cast on. So for 3 it lasts over 4 hours, for 4 it lasts over 3 hours, and for 5 it lasts almost 3 hours. Vadania will cast Water Breathing on Ylva separately, so that if they get separated Ylva won't drown. She will share the Freedom of Movement spell she'll be casting on herself with Ylva. This might also help with spell casting underwater.

Her plan is to start with detect magic to practice spell casting under water, and to let her identify the location of the gems, then she'll use Stone Shape to move the gems to the surface, and to free them from the stone if she can.

I'm assuming Brennan and Tink are coming, and that Tink doesn't need Water Breathing cast on her. Does anyone else want to come? Or are George and Ka'lion heading for Ka'lion's home?

Vadania also has a detailed background. But her background has her growing up with limited social contact. She just says what she thinks, and has no idea that others might be reading meaning in her words that aren't there.

She also has no experience with depression, she doesn't know how to recognize it, or how to deal with it.

She has also never been to a party in her life.

However, her background does give her a house in the wilds. A small one room cottage that would fit in any of the rooms of the place Ka'lion is having refitted to be a home. Though she hasn't been back to it since she met Ka'lion, so she doesn't know what shape it's in.

Vadaina i know i asked for ka'lion when i came back because i needed to see with my own eyes both friends were still alive. I know you kept telling me he was safe but i had to see it with my own eyes. After seeing so much death i had to be sure. I then nosedived into full panic.

Also Me in dark places right now is a horrible idea. So the tunnal idea and water idea i had to say no. I did feel like i was being forced vs my own will. Again i dont think that was what you ment. you kept telling me it was ok i know you were trying to include me but it was not what was best for me.

I was trying to clue you in that we would drown ment me and who ever tried to save me in there. Im sorry that was too cryptic.

I knew even with your spells my will to sit at bottom would over take me and well i would be no more for i would be dead. It could have lead to others dieing too.

I know cant do that to shamious or to you my friends so thats why i did not go in.

I know you trust the new two but i could not at the time and i still dont know if i can.

When he said i would get my friends killed it hurt me because thats the last thing i wanted but i would not be alive if i did not unload to someone old enough to understand. I saw you had a lot going on yourself so i did not want to pile all this on you with a new god and all.


With what i have been through im sorry it took so long to tell you. I know you dont agree with ka'lion but when i saw you fight it tore me up even more that it has not changed in all this time.

I know it just pilled on but you did not know nor did he.

Yet it got to be so much on me all at once i snapped.

Family is important to me, its why ka'lion needs to go see his. Its best he does not go alone, facing family is very hard to do.

Ka'lion seems unsure as to which direction to take home, but begins to pack his horse non the less. When he reaches the newly discovered ships figurehead he pauses.


Nearby Tink describes the location of the two exposed and accessible gemstones relative to the hull of the ship. They seem easy enough to locate with a little light.

"Unfortunately when we decided to check out the mill, Ka'lion decided to leave the group and go the opposite direction. Otherwise he would have been with us when we found you. Meeting up with him later limited what we could do. As did having an army in the area."

"As for the tunnel, I thought you were about to explore it when we met you, and that we'd be tagging along with you for safety in numbers. Also it was a good place to hide from an army if it was tracking us. I have a shard of sunlight now, so it would have been brightly lit."

"The lake is brightly lit by sunlight all the way to the bottom, that's why we can see the shipwreck from shore. It's wet, but not dark. But if you don't want to go, that's fine."

Then it was a fair fight, but that does not mean your opponents will fight fair. Thank yiu for telling me your side i wish i heard it sooner.

Shamious : " ya not my best idea see i was trying to find starmetal to get it we needed to go into a mine i got well bit lost. George only agreed cause he knew starmetal could make some great gear. It kept his hope alive because i was actively trying to hone my craft to a master crafter and still am. He saw it as helping on my journy as younknow thats his thing, but yes the place we ended up in was not the best for him.

At the time i was tailspining quite bad so the light in the tunnal or water was the least of my worries. Had ka'lion been with us then i might have been more receiving to the idea.

I quite honestly dont want to, its best not to temp fate of my life right now. This is the first step of many in my recovery so i want to step in being able to do the things i wish to. It will be a daily battel, its why i cant face the demon the way i am right now. They sence it and hammer on it. I would be useless in that fight right now.

Vadania looked thoughtful as she considered George's words, "I think I see what you're getting at. There have been others that I have been able to coordinate well with in the past. And I think I can coordinate well with Brennan and Tink. Hopefully we will find others that I can work well with. But Ka'lion is just too chaotic and unpredictable for me. Sometimes it works with him, sometimes it doesn't. I think one of the best times we worked together what is when Ka'lion with scouting and ended up being chased by goat men. He led them back to camp, and we saw them coming and had set up an ambush."

The only reason we haven't is because Ka'lion doesn't.But if Ka lion is going back to his family, then there is no reason for us to avoid encountering the demons. I have to admit that I'm not looking forward to leaving the fell, but if that is what we need to do, then so be it."

Vadania shakes her head in disbelief, this was a new level of greed for Ka'lion. Vadania answered, "I have neither the money to pay for it nor a way to move it." Perhaps it was just as well they were going their separate ways. She hoped he was successful in his search for riches.

Ka'lion doesn't care about riches. He just knows it's going to take money to get home and teleportation is effected on weight you are carrying.

It seems there is little enthusiasm to pay out for a share of this most recent finding. Ka'lion briefly considers that the small library of books and magical tome that he had already onto his horse might already be more than his own fair share, and wonders if the weight of the figurehead slowing them down and impeding their teleportation was worth what he might sell it for so far inland when they reach the blasted wastes.


(once this has been settled we can move things along - Ka'lion/George in the far south and Vadania/Brennen with the boat and subsequent adventures)

if the weather magic on the figurehead had to do with summoning rain, then he could be very valuable indeed in a desert. Vadania thinks that the limited weather magic as far more likely to be related to directing the direction of the wind so as to fill the sails of the boat.

In any case, Vadania will not pay Ka'lion for the figurehead, nor will she object if he wants to carry it off.

Without further claim to the figurehead Ka'lion loads it onto his already overladen horse and sets with George, back towards the monastery and the tree where he hopes to contact Berith.

Now that it is clear who is swimming and who is not Vadania prepares her spells for the day and the remaining party gathers at the edge of the lake to dive for the gemstones beneath the surface.

Vadania confirms that Tink does not need the Water Breathing spell before casting it on herself, Ylva, and Brennan. With 14 hours split between the 3 of them, they weren't going to have to worry about drowning for quite a while. Next, Vadania casts Freedom of Movement on herself, sharing the spell with Ylva. Although if Ylva does not stay close to Vadania, then Ylva will lose the benefits of that spellt. Spellcasting complete, Vadania signals for Tink to lead the way. Vadania keeps a hand on Ylva's neck to help guide the wolf true the unfamiliar terrain.
