"Yes... but best we are careful with them for now." Wrapping them up carefully she takes a moment to recover her magical strength and to let the others tend to their wounds before they started the journey out.

Wind drops his firebird form and steps into the healing spirit before it dissipates. He continues to scan the cave as the party prepares to depart for, hopefully, a good night’s rest.

Party makes it back to where the minors and the Moma was. They are chearing some are crying with joe they are alive.
Al! Al! You did it you bloody saved us all. All of you thank you! Sir there is much to rebuild.
Al : given what has happened we must convien in the palace. Restorations will happen I promiss, I had the help of these fine adventures.
I would have certainly died without thier help. Yet to truly show us your thanks and gratitude alow us to rest it is well needed. Grab what u need for a few days and acompany us up to the palace.
The small folk grab what the can muster from the wreckage of the mine, and set off with the party to the palace.

As the party takes a different path back up to the lower palace. The party finds dead grick bodies with many holes out of chuncks of the palace.
As they get to the main Hall all the doors were locked up tight.
Kid if your still alive its Al! Unlock this door so we can help !
A young but stern voice comes past at a muffel but just able to make out :
"How do i know its you and not a trap by the creatures trying to invaded us! How do i know you did not capture and torcher my friends as to making us surrender the palace to you!.
Kid ! Ok fine you want it this way, have it your way. Ill tell you only info that i would rather die then give over to an enemy.
You were only 9 years old when i caught you trying to nab my boze in the lower section of my bar. I found out you had no living relative and so i put you to work and became your only living family. It was also one of my most prowest moments when i was able to leave this bar in your hands only i did not tell you.
Now open THE DAM DOOR!
A series of movements like baricades moving away then the sounds of locks being unlocked and the door opens inword and out steps a familar face.
He hugs AL, the party can see he is drenched in ick and blood grick blood.
The room was a battle feild.
Dead Grick bodies everywhere as well as what was left of the palace gaurd. Holes from the ground could be seen. Table shattered.

Is the damage all recent or does this place look like it has been under siege for a while ?

Varis, deep in thought during much of the climb back through the tunnels, as well as the reunions with the workers, snapped out of it quick at the sight of the blood drenching the kid. His hand instinctively went for his sword but he relaxed upon noticing the dead worms lying about. Whatever battle had transpired, was over. Seems they had failed at keeping the beasts from climbing higher. Walking over to inspect one of the dead gricks, Varis nudges it with his foot before turning back toward the kid.
"Safe to assume they're all dead? What makes you think we were a trick sent by these beasts? You meet many talking worms?"

" I saw blade and ax bouce of thier hides with no indacation of damage yet when i started casting at them they did start making smarter tatics. So if they were magical it stands to reason they could have powers too.
They used clicks as tho they could actully think and comunicate like they were smart.
Also one could reason something could have been controlling them behind the attack.
Hell it could be the Red Army for all i knew. It would not be the first time they showed up unannounced. "

Varis walks over and places his hand on the young man's shoulder, offering a faint hint of a smile.
"Relax kid, they're just worms. Nothing more. No ties to the red army. You did well. Be proud and go get yourself cleaned up, you're kind of a mess..."
Giving a soft chuckle, Varis pats him on the shoulder before walking over to one of the holes to check it out.
(Perception roll down the hole to see if anything else appears to be climbing up/moving down there or if all is quiet)

Varis can sence the kid is trying not lose his composure fighting back tears at times sencing he is battling quite a few emotions inside of himself.
Looking at his cloths
" Oh right yha I should um do that. Yet um its best go in groups for now.
Rose offers to go with him
They head out to the stals and cleans himslef up.
While they are gone :
While Varis is looking down the hole.
Al offers him a drink varis realizes its the one he offered him before the events kicked off.
Handing Varis one of the very few non broken drink glasses.
Al : " Varis i have known that lad for a long time so what i said for him to open the door was true im just thankfull it worked.
Yet thats not the important bit here right now.
What is: You and I as well as most likly the rest of us have sean death and loss of comrades. Please know this the kids first major battle he is taking it best he can, yet soon if not now it will sink in what happened. He will most likly blame himself for what transpired, as you know its survivor's guilt. a traite he may have picked up from me.
Please do your best to keep an eye on him.
As they both look down the holes.
I think given thier moma is now slain the nest set ablaze, it will be hard for them to gather in number once again. Yet i think you can agree that it best to keep watches for now. Yet we need our rest to its been a long day for all of us.
So Al will get to work on who is on watch duty from those who are left of his gaurd and if any of the npcs the party saved wish to also stand gaurd.
Many wish to join the Palace gaurd, and help rebuild. Al tells the he is honored for thier bravery and sacrafice and excepts them as Palace Gaurd/ employies.
Side note : even with short rests it does not make up for lack of sleep.
If the party tries to stay up your pushing to get an exhusted lv at this point.

"We should take watches in turns and keep an eye on these gems" suggests Callo. Little injured and with much of her magical strength returned she offers to take the first watch.

Sven will speak up :
The groggieness has warn off by now for Sven and Falcor.
" Im sorry Falcor and I were not more useful later on. Something traped my mind and i could not get out no matter what i tried i saw a vision. Perhaps you can tell us what happened at a later time. Its hard to put into words what we exactly saw on our end, only that it greatly worries me for what could come next.
When we came too Omar and Al were helping us out of the cave.
The least we could do is watch over the rest of you until you gotten your needed rest.
So we will be more then honored to take first watch to make up for before. "

Wind sidles up to the bar, and in a woman’s voice, “A cup of Grog, no charge.”
He surveys the damage, pulls out two magnetic stones, and begins to mend what he can, using his mending cantrip, beginning with the glass he is expecting the grog in.

Wind my lad we only serve the best until we can't that is if you wish something better that is .
Even now this is still my bar, i could not offer grog to one or any that saved so many today.
The kid and rose comes back :
O hey Kid : Im sure they did not get all our best.
Well about that sir um... well...
Rose just comferts him and eases him a bit.
We had to use them as explosives. Sorry sir it was what was on hand it they were quite effective at area controll but not so great at doing harm like we were thinking they would.
Some we tossed in the holes to force them ether to retreat or stop hidding.
Anyway we did however..
He pulls out the best elvin bottles.
We knew how special these were to you and protected them for you.

Al hands wind two glasses both fixed one of the basic grog the other the nice wine.
Al looks at winds handywork of mending he thanks him.
Going back for another bottel
He heads over and hand it to Varis then uncorks it and poors two glasses.
" Looks like we get to drink this together after all, i see no better occation then to mark what thos who made it stood and fought for."
Omar is tending to the wounded best he can. So he will not par take in the drinking until he finds a brake.
He gets the biggest stine Al has that is unbroken.
There is a mix of sadness but also joy that the palace had not fallen and that tbe party was able to save them.
Yet it was soon time for the heros and Heroines could get thier rest.
Al and the palace gaurd find cots not harmed in the guest wings. Then do thier best to find vacent rooms for everyone.
He makes sure the party is comfertable.
He bunks the kid in Varis's room that has two beds. Yet on varis bed is another full Elvin bottel.
This one with a note
: As long as one bottle of thier memory lasts they are not forgotten. Even if the last drop is drank we remember who they were and what they stood for. the have not ever left these lands. Your actions are a testament to that fact. Neverforget your a leader now. Its time you to up the mantal they left behind. Its time you drank this on a better victory then this and finish what they started all so long ago.
Your bartender of The Emrold Palace.
- Al.
With Omar in his own bed given he is so tall.
With Al across the hall of Varis and the kid.
Callo and wind can have thier own rooms if they so wish.

Somewhat lost in thought after the events below Callo accepts the offer of a room and sets her shadow-familiar as guard.
Nothing had ever been set of Sets role in the great war, and she knew of no allegiance to Tiamat or the reds. Perhaps just coincidence, but Callo wondered who had brought these gemstones here and why.

Wind accepts the drink and the room and, after fixing what he can heads up to his room. He opens the window and Flappy the bat flutters in, and grips Wind’s feathers when he lands. “Thank you, little one. You have done me a service this day,” and, in a completely different accent, “Watch over me, please?”
As the bat exits the room and hangs from the roof, Winds sits with his back to the door, and falls asleep.

Varis accepts the drink, fighting back the anger over those who had fallen, and allows himself to be led to his room. Upon seeing the bottle waiting for him on his bed, he could hold it in no longer. The memories rushed to the forefront, drowning out all other thoughts. All those lost, slain by the red army. The sand washing up what should have been forest. The loss of song and dance, of the stories he enjoyed as a child. Of being forced to live on the run, always fighting for survival in the endless waste. Tears welled in his eyes, so unfamiliar to the touch. Every memory played through his head, but were ultimately replaced by the same image. The object of all his hate, his rage. That quest for revenge far from complete. He would kill the beast, stand over his corpse. He would.
Punch after punch, Varis drove his hands into the wall, lost in his rage. On he went until his hands were bloodied, skin pealing away from his knuckles. Each blow turning into pain that fueled the next. He would have his revenge. Slowing to a stop, Varis grabs the bottle and tucks it into his bag, remembering that he was not alone. Nodding toward the kid, he leans back into his bed.
"Pay me no mind kid. Get some sleep, you did well today. Al's going to need your help getting things back in order tomorrow."
He would slay the red king, topple his armies, and enjoy the entire bottle in the memory of his people. Until then, he could let nothing cloud his mind, nothing distract him from his road. 'I'm coming for you.'

The kid looks on :
" So you took this one hard as well then?
I was thinking I was the only one having difficulty trying to prossess what happend. I still dont think i fully understand but i dont want to let Al or youguys down. Putting on a brave face is hard. So i did my best to hide it but Rose was nice to me after so that helped a bit. Yet you just wailed on that wall as hard as you could.
So i guess everyone does it different then?
Tho i think I would beake my hand if i hit the wall that hard. So im not sure that way is the best for me.
O and Does the pain ever go away?
I don't mean your hand by the way."
