Caelith lets out an Orcish curse. Really, when it came to cursing, Orcish was the way to go, especially when in heated (literally) combat, with things leaning a little further from planning than is entirely comfortable.
Frankly, Caelith had to give the little brownie credit - He wasn't expecting a fireball. Fireballs are his thing. He's an evoker, for stars' sake! You don't just go around trying to beat and evoker at his own damn game.
Caelith creases his forehead, trying to determine exactly how to mete out his revenge when the bulky half-giant streaks by on his left. He sees the big man reaching for his throwing axe, and he knows it's now or never. The words, all-too-familiar, snap back to the front of Caelith's brain, out his mouth and through his fingers as two streaks of blazing energy arc towards Girud.
((OOC)) You guys know the drill. Empowered Scorching Ray. Ranged touch attack vs AC 13, Caster level check vs SR 13, 6d6 damage each, no save.

Damage:

Second Ray [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] Total: 20
Grand Total: 41 Fire Damage
Girud should be at -17 now.
Also, on an unrelated note, Caelith should be at 20 hp, not 17.
Following the spell's wrath, Caelith smiles quietly to himself and remains behind the pillar, listening for Krysta.[rand=1968401552847887558495901305838671152820263857055512656489337435]

Well, now its the two of us... go figure...
Krysta will keep her bow in hand, reach down and pick up her longsword, and see what Caelith does... Little did he know what she was doing...
She will keep her bow in hand, just in case he comes out to fight... should he come out, she drops the longsword AGAIN as a free action, and lets loose with an arrow to him. +15 to hit, 1d8+2+1d6electric dmg...
So, move action to grab longsword, ready action(standard) to shoot him should he come out from the pillar, +15 to hit, blah blah...
Japic, hope you don't mind, as I dont see Girud getting past that onslought....

Japic, hope you don't mind, as I dont see Girud getting past that onslought.... Nor I. Here's your post.
Uncertain of what will come from Girud and Caelith's confrontation Krysta delays waiting for a situation to present its self. The Giant fresh in his sights Caelith unleashes another blast of hellfire (27,22 vs 13 ac) once more searing the flesh of the half giant. His people may have eben acclimated to warm living conditions, but nothing can stop the sun when it wants to cook your bones. With a puff of sand Girud topples, the blast of fire being too much to bear (41 dam). Alton lets out a angered cry but immediately stands down, moving to the wall and off the field. Hidden behind the pillar Krysta cannot see what Caelith does next, so she cautiously reaches down to pick up her longsword. She then prepares to drop it once more if the need for her bow should arise. She stands expectantly readied should the mage show his face. {end of round}

Caelith hears.... nothing. Last he saw Krysta she was far away, but certainly in range of striking with her bow. Caelith knows if he strays, she will let loose an arrow - and Krysta's a good shot. She'd managed to get through most of the battle unscathed, while Caelith had a number of annoying objects sticking out of him.
He has to be careful. He has to do this just right...
((OOC)) Caelith remains behind the pillar. Other actions PM'd. Nothing audible, though. Still listening for signs of movement from Krysta.

((OOC)) I'm just gonna keep going, since not a lot of adjudication is needed here. Hope you don't mind, Japic.
Still hearing nothing, Caelith conjures a spell to his mind, letting the magic slip out of his body in words and gestures. He otherwise remains behind the pillar.
Spellcraft check if you want to know what it is.

[dice=20] Spellcraft Check... pass
Hearing the words of yet another spell, Krysta hones in on the pillar, knowing that Caelith had a plan. She would need all her training to overcome this battle. It was not yet won...[rand=922148415404123384199619542109799895668737265837417989130594071]

...Actually, what's the point? There's only the two of us left. It was Spectral Hand.

Lol, true, since its only the two of us, lets get this going. Spectral Hand, huh? Nice choice...
Since Krysta has some knowledge of what is being cast, she scans the pillar, hoping to catch sight of the spectral hand that is sure to come at her now. Her readied action is now set to attack either the spectral hand or Caelith, whichever comes out first...
Readied action, shoot either spectral hand or caelith, whichever one comes out first... +15 to hit, 1d8+2 +1d6 Electricity, 50% miss chance... Incorporeal

As Caelith still doesn't know what's happening on the other side of the pillar, he chooses caution. He waits, listening carefully for any sign of movement, admittedly a little confused that he hasn't heard anything so far.((OOC)) Readied action. If Caelith knew she wasn't advancing, I'd probably do something different.

Sensing that Caelith is waiting on her first move, she does...
Moving to the southeast pillar, (5 squares right, 3 squares up, and readies another action) She will train her shot at the pillar that she believes him to still be at. She will shoot either the hand once it appears, or the mage himself. She will have cover, hopefully, granting her a little more breathing room...

((OOC)) I thought all squares behind the pillars blocked line of sight. We can see past the edges?
I'll save my next action for later. Give Japic time to catch up. Even if it's just to say 'Still watching, all's well.'

"Still watching, all's well." I placed teh hand on the map N of you, since you didn't say where else you wanted to put it. Line of Sight (LOS from here out) is available only if you can draw a line from a corner of your square to the corner of another square. From where Caeligh is he's safe from LOS from Krysta, but if he's one space east, they have LOS on one another; though Cover can certainly come into play against attacks. Same initiatives unless I missed something.. which is possible with all the delays and readies. I don't think any of them went off though so should be ok. Oh, the crowd cries for blood. Egging each on toward the other.

Krysta tries to spot anything past the pillar where Caelith is hiding. (Ok, can Krysta see the spectral hand? If so, then single attack on it, +15 to hit, 1d8+2 +1d6 elec, 50% miss chance...)
If not, then ready attack for when either Caelith or the hand come out, THEN take a 5 step to put her BEHIND the pillar again, out of his line of sight......)
She knows patience... she will stand her ground, here and now, waiting for the mage to make his move. She has time on her side... Mages depend on time for their spells.... if she waited long enough, his spells would run out...

((OOC)) I don't think you can ready an action for a standard action AND a 5 foot step.
Caelith taps his fingers on the pillar's surface. So, this was to be a waiting game. Very well. The evoker had a number of things he'd wanted to do, and now he's found the time to do it.
((OOC)) I'll quaff a potion of Cure Light Wounds, then.

Krysta tries to spot anything past the pillar where Caelith is hiding. (Ok, can Krysta see the spectral hand? If so, then single attack on it, +15 to hit, 1d8+2 +1d6 elec, 50% miss chance...) {Nope. That pillar blocks LOS for about four or five squares North by my count. If you wanted to move to the wall, instead of cowering (DM dig ) by the pillar you might have a chance.} {Keep on it gents. There's nothing for me to do if you're gonna sit around hoping for the other to die of old age. If you're both too prideful to get dead first then I'ma have to mix things up with a little crowd based tampering. I'm not sure what yet, but don't make me think of something.}

((OOC)) Hey, if I have free reign to sit there and buff, I'm gonna. I have some hit points to get back and few spells to cast before I venture out, but I will make the proverbial first move if I have to.
So if Fangor wants to just have me list those actions out instead of going round-by-round, I will, and we can get this underway.
