(haha, yeah, after you kill him and monologue. . . though in the wizard's defense, just cause theudjat miscalculated, doesn't mean that the PC would have. So he may still just be there behind the pillar. In which case it would be a true draw, since no character would be likely to move for fear of getting shot down. Big fights like this always come down to the guys with ranged weapons and who's willing to take the biggest risk first or call it a draw. I think Japic forgot about you guys.)

lol, that's what I get for using the SRD. No examples. Yeah, that clarifies it.
Works fine for me. Less dice to roll.
As for the battle itself? Good lord, about time that sucker's over. 11 pages. Gah. And runner up ain't half bad, though if I had it to do again, I'd do a few things differently.
...I'll get you next time, Gadget. Next time.

I agree as Romar. Anyway, good fight, but I have to say that I favored Krysta as the winner. Nothing personal, but Caelith was a bit of a coward with his rope trick, flying, hiding behind pillars, ranged tactics etc. Yeah, clever, but still a coward. Live with it.

I didn't forget anyone; these two were pretty good about moderating eachother. The dice were an oversight on my part, I didn't count the die and double check the math for each roll.
Sorry for any confsion that my DMing may have caused. I can't stay long; I got a new PC here at work, and things are all wonky. Soooo far behind on work because of it. Bye.

Yeah, I thought about that (a mage with a 23 intelligence forgetting how his own spell works?), and the idea of not coming around the corner at all occurred to me, but I couldn't really make an unbiased decision since Fangor had already rolled a crit. On the one hand I didn't want to come out, and on the other I probably would have had to eventually, fight going as it was. I ultimately decided to go with precedent. Romar got screwed for messing up a spell, it'd be unfair if I got slack for messing up mine. Like I said, if I had to do it again, some things would be different. And I'll still take anyone on with the mage... but like, in a week or two. I'm arena'd out for now.

You can barely har your own voice amongst the crowds. You are bleeding from multiple wounds and fighting for your life. You hurt like never before, you cant concentrate. In the fog of war, you miscalculate range...it fails...you die. Sought of like true gladiatorial combat.
