Well I'll let the two others interested in and that's it.
CLOSED.
But remember, PM me your characters before posting when we should get the board.
So are we settling on Dark Intentions. If so then let KMan know. I'm not going to be around for the rest of the day.

I just realized we already have 'Masked Intentions' on the Shorts board, lol. That's actually kind of fitting, since this was planned as a roguish (but thoroughly evil) game.
Still open to alternate suggestions.

Ideas for name of the game:
Things that go Bump in the night Idiots guide to being Evil License to Kill
lol, seriously, I can't think of anything to name this, so why not go with a group name. Something that you wouldn't mind putting on your business card?

Murderous Minds Along came Assassins or is the alliteration part a little too much to bare?

Darkened Hearts isn't bad. Nor is the original 'Along Came a Spider'. For some reason I've always liked that phrase.
I also propose 'Bad Karma', which I think I like better than my original suggestion.

Wolf, you can do whatever you want, it won't change matters Fangor and Vemu's suggestions crack me up. Idiot's Guide to Being Evil and Along Came Assassins. Good stuff. Well, at the moment it's just "New Game" So you guys can either hold off until you've role played out naming the guild, though it might be just as hard and Fangor and Vemu would have to just play random guys walking along and tossing out names, or someone can start a poll and you guys can vote on it. I probably won't start the poll though cause I'm too lazy and have a bunch of catching up to do now.

OK, just so you have something to run with until I can get the details typed up
I have decided to borrow a bunch of the setting from the Guild game since we never really got around to using it and I think it's a shame to see all of the good stuff go to waste.
So your city is Port Rislan A large firmly established port city of about 100,000-200,000 people Has an established government system, law enforcement, citizenship policy residents ranging from nobility to impoverished and homeless has a handful of gangs, some more established tha others, and a very active underworld world of crime, drug, prostitution, and gambling rings. Has areas of entertainment and the arts including a racetrack, a museum, play houses, and dance halls. Nothing too out of the ordinary for any large urban area. Anything that you can expect to be going on within a city of this variety probably is, so always take into account the outside atmosphere which may impact the way you go about doing things.
As you begin to create your characters and start roleplaying the discussion that you plan to have, you'll find out more about the city and what obstacles or advantages could come your way based on the knowledge of those present and in the know, if any. Though Rojito is a knowledge monger, so he may be imparted with all types of information, usefu or useless, you can decide.
But for now, if there are any immediate questions about the general stuff regarding the city or anything that you may need to know regarding your envisioned character, feel free to ask.
Also, feel free to add or make suggestions as to what should or could be found in or around the city.

I'm just wondering based on the atmosphere and the directions I can see this game possibly taking where slang and innuendo may play a major role in terms of social interactions with others of your ilk at times, what's everyone's stance on swearing and foul language in terms of roleplaying.
I don't have a problem with it if the character feels so inclined, but I know that in excess, or even the slightest bit of profanity at all is capable of offending some people and I want to make people feel uncomfortable in their own game.
I'm just asking cause at times, my fingers have been known to type out some of the most explicit vocabulary on these boards (which isn't saying much since we're all goody two-shoeses and try to take other people's feelings into consideration)
I just want to make sure that it would be OK for a character to drop an F-bomb here and there or say something not all that flattering to another character.
So I just wanted you all to know that I'm fine with it so long as you are.
Only cause you probably aren't going to go up to some gang member and test your diplomatic luck with a line like "Alas kind sir, we are merely seeking to avoid a scuffle, though we are quite confident in our ability to defeat you."
You might have better luck with something like "Get the fuck outta my way before I shank your sorry ass, and I'm gonna bring my goddamn dog too."

so far i love it Shakes, but what are the typical races encountered. I assume Human Elves Dwarves orcs halfling gnomes and such, but what of the more rare races, Drow, Duerger, and such. Also, unless you think i should need a knowlegde Religion check what is the primary religion and such associated with this town? As to our characters i kinda imagine we all grew up in a slum, encouraging our more... unlawful sides. I, wanting to change the city for the better, and further myself at the same time, went to school to learn about all things i could find . I figure Wolf would probably be my little brother and you guys could be his "gang" or whatever, thus giving me a reason to work with you even though our outlooks (character-wise) are rather different.

I think when we role playing our characters and feel the need for it (like your example) we could, but i recommend at the end of the post saying something to tell the other people that these aren't directed towards them.

yes, while i beleive we all are mature enough to know that insults go no farther than the characters it might be best if it truly gets heated to try and say that it was not meant in anything other than roleplay
