Hi all,
I am running a 2nd Ed. AD&D game, the fabled "Dragon Mountain".
I have two players, and have room for four more.
Please only apply if you are sure you have the time to post every day.
Thanks.

YES!
Skills and powers or just core? I'd tend for the latter as the players options stuff gets quite broken.

Core only, no player's options. We do have a Barbarian character in the party already who is using a class from a handbook of some kind, but it's not players options of any kind.

I am the afore mentioned barbarian (warrior). New to this style of play so I wanted something reasonably straightforward.

Goddammit.
I'd play, but I've forgotten everything about 2nd edition. That's around when I first started playing. I didn't even know what D&D was, but around when I first met Lin, that's all he was asking people,
"Wanna play Dragon Mountain? wanna play Dragon Mountain?"
Of course, everyone said "No," but out of pity I said that I would, even though I had no clue what he was talking about.
Well, we started the game, but never actually followed through with going to Dragon Mountain and just sort of did our own campaign which we are still involved in.
So basically, what I'm saying is, If someone wants to help me make a level 10 rogue, I'd play.
If I remember correctly, playing 2e is kind of like playing Final Fantasy, just jam the "A" button, right?
Oh, and we have the Dragon Mountain poster with the red dragon on it. Not too many people can say that I think.

How do we handle scores? 3.5 ed. point buy system or will you roll for us? It was a straight roll for my barb - 4d6 six times drop the lowest dice. Arrange as required. Could roll a monster, could roll a patsy. It's part of the charm of 2nd ed that there is no real semblance of character balance - you just take what you get and run with it.

If someone wants to help me make a level 10 rogue, I'd play. Roll 4d6 six times. Drop the lowest dice each time. Apply to stats - you need at least a 9 in dexterity to play a rogue. You have 6+9d6 hitpoints. You have 330 thief skill points to split between pick pockets, open locks, find traps, move silent, hide in shadows, detect noise, climb walls, and read languages. Thief skills are a % of them working at any given attempt - you start with PP(15), OP(10), FT(5), MS(10), HS(5), DN(15), CW(60), and RL(0) before adjustments for dexterity, race, and armour You backstab for x4 dice damage You have limited scroll use You have 4d6 randomly determined followers You know how to use 4 different weapons (you pick) You have 5 skill slots (plus bonuses based on int) In terms of stats, bonuses don't start to appear until around the 14-16 point, penalties start around scores of 6-8. Thieves get nothing for con scores above 16. If you have a dexterity score of at least 16 you gain a 10% bonus on all experience points.

But my thac0, what about my THAC0!!!
I'll see if I can come up with anything.
My first character was an elven rogue so I picked a class that I was somewhat familiar with. But once I get all of the stats and thief skills picked I'll need to know how to determine everything else. Plus, I don't remember all of the WPs and NWPs so I'll need some help with that, maybe a list of the basic ones or something. I remember Alertness, Tight rope walking, and heraldry off of the top of my head for some reason though. And my character had "Massage" as one of her Weapon proficiencies, but I don't think that would come in too handy in Dragon mountain.

4d6 arranged how we want?! Damn, spiral is more generous in his old age. When we used to play at his dad's place years back, we had to roll 3d6 and keep them where they want ;D
I'll roll my scores here....

16, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Dont worry Shakes, we'll talk you through it THAC0 is "to hit armour class 0". Its the opposite of the attack roll used in 3.5. If you need some info i have some links to websites that might be handy in building a character. I'll get my character started this weekend.
