or i could just cast continual light on the end of a stick which can be covered with a leath bag A bag of coins with continual light cast on them is infinitely useful. But I want a big flaming stick

Fair enough, the massive Barbarian gets his flaming stick....plus you can smack people about with it

So what weapons are "thieves allowed to use. I haven't finished picking my weapons cause I realized that I wasn't sure of this.
I'm not sure if someone posted a link to that info, but there's eight pages to sift through and i figured just asking would be easier. Well, for me at least.

Thieves have a limited selection of weapons. Most of their time is spent practicing thieving skills.
The allowed weapons are club, dagger, dart, hand crossbow, knife, lasso, short bow, sling, broad sword, long sword, short sword, and staff.
A thief can wear leather, studded leather, padded leather, or elven chain armor. When wearing any allowed armor other than leather, the thief's abilities are penalized

Does a lasso do anything cool? Can you use it to grab onto things, or strangle people or stuff like that?

Does a lasso do anything cool? Can you use it to grab onto things, or strangle people or stuff like that? It can do anything you can talk the DM into at the time - 2nd ed combat is somewhat unregulated. As part of a dramatic action - sure (either because you've taken some creative positioning action or rolled a 20 and want to roleplay the extra damage) As 'any time I hit I automatically strangle my opponent' - probably not. You do get a +2 to hit with lassos if you have the rope use skill.

A Level 11 Rogue has a base THAC0 of 15
Your AC goes from 10 to 5 for chain, to 4 for it being +1, right down to 1 with your high DEX (which grants you a -3 Defensive Adj.). So your AC is 1.
Your Longbow is +2, so your THACO0 goes from 15 to 13, and then down to 11 with your DEX (Missile Attack Adj.), and to 10 for being a Elf. So, your THAC0 with the +2 Longbow is 10.
Your Longsword is +2, so your THACO0 goes from 15 to 13, and to 12 for being an Elf. So, your THAC0 with the +2 Longsword is 12.
THAC0 with a Dagger is 15, it's just your unmodified base THAC0.
I'll have a think about your Lassoo. =)

Want me to look in Combat and Tactics to see if that has any rules on lassos? I know you want this to be core rules only but you may aswell use the rules if they are there.
