I hope everyone makes the jump to the new site without getting lost. If you are reading this, you have already discovered that Moonhaven has moved to its new and permanent home. Please post something when you see this so I can check to make sure that we have everyone.
The group has no trouble retracing their path back to Howy. Rather than having him hop all the way back through the dungeon, Harknail suggests that they make a stretcher to carry him. The group has no problems finding materials to make a decent stretcher. The group continues on with Harknail and Thursagan carrying the injured cleric.
Things get a little more exciting when they reach the next room. Their captive goblin has freed herself, and is armed with both a short sword and a dagger (both sheathed). She is also wearing a fairly full backpack. When she sees the group coming back, she looks a bit nervous but makes no hostile moves (specifically, she does not draw a weapon).
Assuming no one kills her on sight...
When the goblin sees Doren, she looks relieved. She drops to her knees and bows deeply while staying <Master! Your servant is ready to travel,> in goblin.
Tag all, any reaction to the goblin?

During his captivity, does Zynthis ever remember seeing this particular goblin before?

Gabe looks at the small creature and turns to the others, "Seems our little friend wants to throw in her lot with us. Anyone got a problem with that?"
Then he turns back to the goblin and speaks in her language, <What is your name little one?>
Note this is the first time he has actually spoken in goblin, he was just listening last time. Also yay our own little corner of the forum with an OOC and Character section as well!

Would it be useful to incorporate a tag into the dialog to indicate a language? like {goblin}Blah blah blah{/goblin} or some such?

Would it be useful to incorporate a tag into the dialog to indicate a language? like {goblin}Blah blah blah{/goblin} or some such? What I'm doing for languages other than common is using angle brackets instead of quotes to indicate that this is a foreign language that not all characters will understand, then include the name of language somewhere in the text. For example: The goblin replied in its native tongue, <How is it you know our language?>

<My my my name is Sart sir.> Knowing the goblin probably doesn't speak common, Zynthis turns to Sart and says in common while pointing at her "Smart?". Zynthis gives her a questioning look.

I was assuming Sart sounded like Sart in any language including common. So when I said Smart in common, I knew she wouldn't know what I was saying and she would shake her head no that she wasn't smart. But I guess that's what I get for fooling around too much.

Doran is kind of struck incredulous by this turn of events. But, as Gabe takes over and seems to know what he's doing, Doran just shrugs and moves out of the Sart's line of sight so as not to distract her from the Tiefling. I found it too, once I had scrolled all the way to the bottom.
Bharash was surprised the little goblin was brave enough to join with them. It was certainly unexpected, but then when he started his adventures he had not expected to be joined by a wolfman or a demonman either. If any had betrayal in their heart the goblin should at least be the easiest to deal with.

The goblin realizes she is safer with us than the last group she was with.

Gabe waits a moment and looks around the group, but nobody seems to have a problem with the Goblin. When he sees Doran ducking out of sight whilst Sart is distracted by Zynthis Gabe sighs. He doubts the poor creature would survive long left alone without her clan and for the moment he can't really think of anything else to suggest. Maybe when this is all sorted out they can work out a better future for little Sart.
He turns back to the small creature, <I'm not so sure Doran is quite ready to take on the task of being your master but I guess if you swear to be loyal to us we can accept you as a sort of retainer for the moment under our joint care. We will provide food and see that you have a place to sleep whilst you are under our care. Does that sound suit you?>
Whilst he waits for her answer he turns to address the rest of the group, "Shall we continue on then?"

He defers to the people that seem to have more brain than him. Gabe has the charisma to seem smart, the brains to back it up, and the skills to put both to use (and on display). Keep it up, and Doran will start calling Gabe 'Boss'.

The charisma to 'seem' smart? Just be glad Gabe can't read minds or he might get upset at that. Though actually I don't think he is the kinda guy to take offence easily. Not so sure I'd advise calling him boss.. it may just go to his head and he has enough trouble trying not to order everyone around already. Though I guess Doran could hide from him as well...

Doran's attempt to not be distracted proves to have the opposite effect as Sart carefully watches where Doran is going.

Harknail stares at the goblin for a while. After a moment he says, "I think she be concerned with her own life only. But I think she not be a danger to us." The goblin realizes she is safer with us than the last group she was with. It's more along the lines that she realizes that her chances of surviving alone are just about zilch. Depending what you guys do with her, she still might have a short life. On the other hand, even as the groups slave (how she sees herself), her standard of living is probably going to increase dramatically!
