Thursagan shouts "They are coming from blue flames, it looks magic. Tell me how to stop it!". He is going to take advantage of the position of blue 8 by moving to G8 and using the flank to put a crushing surge on the warrior. Blue 8 is marked, and if the blow hits Thursagan will gain 3 temporary HP. He is going to use a minor to activate shielded sides, to gain +2 to AC and reflex, and negate the bonus for being flanked. Thursagan hits the Ice Warrior hard with his Craghammer, sending cracks though his foe radiating from the point of impact (blue 8 is now bloodied).

Bharash (the real one ) fires a scorching burst centered at G25 to try and hit 3 & 4 again arcane check to know weither a scorching burst is likely to stop a blue fireplace producing ice men [/spoiler][/quote] A golden column of flame appears safely over the heads of all on the first level, which then expands outwards. One of the Ice Warriors (Blue 3) is scorched, the other manages to avoid it. Sanem doesn't think that a Scorching Burst by itself would be enough to close a portal, but he would have to get close to one of the portals (within 10 feet or 2 squares) and examine it (minor action) to be sure how to close the portals.

You might want to re-think that one. By Harknails rulling, you will hit Harknail with it, because it is starting from ground level and going up. Actually, I'm not sure that the two targets wouldn't have cover against the attack from the ceiling/floor. I've changed my mind and decided to allow air bursts as being more fun. I'm playing a wizard in another game and had a grand time catching birds with a scorching burst, then catching the now cooked carcass on it's way down. It would be hypocritical of me not to allow my players to do the same.

Still confused on when I post my actions, but that's ok. I'll just post now and Harknail can correct me otherwise When I post a "Tag all" in combat you can post your actions. To minimize waiting I'm reducing initiative to player turn, monster turn, repeat. I take payer actions in the order posted. However powers that give some benefit to your allies for a turn still only affect each ally once regardless of the actual order of the players. The idea is to prevent having to wait for one specific person to post, followed by the next specific person, and so on for each of the eight players, while keeping the game mechanics as close as possible to what would happen if initiative order was actually being followed. I hope that makes sense.Gabe swings his polearm at the ice creature before him, going for a disorienting blow to trick it into tactical error. Thanks to flanking the Warrior with Harknail, Gabe was able to connect with a solid blow, sending more cracks though the Ice Warrior.

The Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler over Bharash (Blue 2) leans over the railing and sends a Flying Icicle at Bharash, spearing the dragonborn wizard (for 9 points) before moving to the other side of the staircase (to C27). The Ice Warrior over Harknail (Blue 3) leans over the railing and sends his Flying Icicle at Harknail, but missed Harknail completely. The final Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler (blue 4) shifts slightly (to H27) and launches another Icicle Storm centered on Zynthis. But although icicles fall around all those in the atrium, the only one hurt is his ally (crit for 1 past cold resistance). Bharash was almost hit, but avoided the blow with his Staff of Defense. I though 4 damage was too small to waste Staff of Defense on, let me know if you want to use it and I'll edit the text above. Edited: Bharash used staff of defense.Ice Warrior Raider is in a very bad position, granting multiple attacks if he moves, multiply flanked if he doesn't. Chilling orders come from above in Primordial, telling him to guard the staircase. This shakes him out of his indecision and he attacks Thursagan. Even though the Dwarf was prepared for the attack, the Ice Warrior still manages to connect a solid blow with his sword of ice (for 11 damage), leaving Thursagan chilled to the bone and slowed (slowed, save ends). Not being able to reach the staircases, he shifts (to B7) to reduce how many are flanking him. But this gives both Thursagan and Harknail a chance to attack him (with flanking). The Ice Warrior Frostling (blue 1) continues to put out his chilling aura, shooting a Freezing Shot at Zynthis. He hit (for 5 damage), the cold of the attack slowing Zynthis for a moment (slowed for 1 turn) which gave the Ice Warrior Raider (if it has survived it's shift) a chance to shift onto the staircase. The Ice Warrior Shardlings continue to though themselves at the heroes. The ones at the doors advance into the attrium and try their luck with melee attacks. Which is no better than their luck with ranged attacks (both missed). The newly arrived ones charged Thursagan and Bharash. Thursagan had cover from the doorway and was missed, Bharash was hit, bringing him within a whisker of falling unconscious. Two more shardlings crawl out of the fireplaces in the dining room. Harknail, how does Blue 8 get to B7? I can see him getting to E7 or G7, but B7? Does the map need to be updated?

Here goes the attack, with the bonus from devoted challenge and flanking: Thursagan smashed the last of the Ice Warrior Raiders into little chunks of ice scattered around the floor before Harknail had a chance to strike. Blue 8 is dead as soon as he tried to excape. Tag all!

Harknail, how does Blue 8 get to B7? I can see him getting to E7 or G7, but B7? Does the map need to be updated? His ally gave him a power to shift 3, which was enough for him to D6 from E7. Except that he never survived the shift to E7 in the first place.
I wasn't able to update the map last night because I couldn't reach the server that stores the maps. Updating it now...

If he is ending in 1 HP I think he will use the staff please, even if it only leaves him on 5 HP.
I'm delaying Bharashes action for now. If he has to he will attack the ice guy next to him with his staff, but I am hoping it may get killed some other way to free up his movement to go and tamper with that fireplace on the left side of the tower.

OK, I adjusted my notes and edited the turn above. Delaying to see what others do is fine. As is saying what you hope they do

Still finding himself unable to move, Zynthis sees red 4 move within his reach and swings at him (Priest's Shield). Attack Red 4: [dice=20]+9=26 vs AC Damage: [dice=10]+5=10 Effects :Me and Harknail +1 to AC for 1 turn Deimmobilization attempt #3: [dice=20] [rand=8484834572368427911548622133549843738575764701659763057035376713]

Seeing Barash in trouble Gabe steps back a few paces to better align himself with the shardling and strikes at it with his glaive. Viper Strike on 6 [dice=20]+6 = 11 vs AC
[dice=4] + [dice=4] + 3 = 6 damage
"We need to stop these shardlings, and engage those atop the stairs." Cool, I get the whole turn taking thing now Harknail - thanks for the clarification! [rand=225038490933103846319034366784768915214789543865498751336856459]

Zachary will use a Thunderwave to catch Red 1 but not Harknail (by the way, can Zachary tell if their Reflex or Fort defense is higher?): [dice=20] | +8 | =11 vs Fort Red 1 |
Crap. I don't think that hit. Well, I was going to move over to B5 to get a look at the fireplace in that room if there weren't any minions in the way, but no such luck. Zachary's Combat Status:

One square down on the map to G9 - I find diagonals still bothersome and mentally difficult because of 3.5 and a physics background so I moved to a place where it was more clear to my brain

Sorry for this, but I am not used to playing a Leader, is it ok if I also use my minor action to toss Bharash an Inspiring Word?

Laira Elereth opens the door in front of her, and destroys two shards in rapid succession. Warlock's curse at shard 6, and eyebite at shard 5 (hits 23 vs will). [dice=20]+4+1+1=23 vs will for[dice=6]+4+1=9 psychic damage

I think that Sanem can see Blue3 from the doorway, if not I will change my action.Sanem glares at the ice creature above [minor Hunter's Quarry] takes aim and shoots (Since Laira opened the door, he doesn't need to this time)[Standard, Twin Shot] [dice=20] | +10 | 28 | [dice=20] | +10 | 27 |
