Map (will be updated as the turn progresses): Blue shaded areas are Choke Frost: This light, white mist congeals into thick ice as creatures or other sources of heat move through it. Each time a creature enters a square of choke frost, it takes a –1 penalty to speed. As a move action, a creature can negate this penalty. Creatures that have the cold keyword are immune to this effect. Where does everyone want to be on the map? Who wants to go first to see what happens?

Are we standing back to let Sanem take a shot at the gem with his bow or what?

Zynthis is at D5 unless everyone wants to stand back in which case he'll go to F1 instead. Zynthis says "Just shoot it, if it explodes it would take out this entire room anyway."

Gabe will stand at C6, far enough that he's not right beside it but close enough he can smack it with his Glaive if need be.
"Have at it."

Are we standing back to let Sanem take a shot at the gem with his bow or what? That's up to you guys to decide Zynthis is wild and reckless. He'll stand right next to it.

But yea, I'm game for attacking the gem.

Lairaunwen Elereth strides to A10 (spends an action to avoid the speed penalty), curses the gem and starts counting, "10, 9, 8, . . "

Zynthis will shield his eyes with his arm to avoid the flying shards.

Zack will be standing back at J3. He wants to see what the reaction of people banging on it is before slinging any spells around.

Sanem moves to j1 then draws his bow and will fire when someone gives a signal to do so: [rand=46008505162885048614666982002074262577279434629548136324845658685]

When Lairaunwen reaches 1 Gabe swings with his Glaive. [dice=20] | + 6 | = 9 vs AC | [dice=4] | [dice=4] | + 3 = 10 Damage |
Gabe takes a sizable chunk out of the roof tiles? [rand=095788800751058118264073072662866088890992377843598176001801742819]

Davis is 50 ft above sea level and the middle of CA. I think it has snowed once in there in the last ten years, and the temperature usually doesn't get to freezing outside of February. I lived there for ten years without once using the heater in my apartment. Its when the power goes out in the summer that things get bad.

The power failure only lasted an hour, but it still disrupted the evening. And then there were all the things to get done today (many of which aren't done yet). But still, I have a few moments to work on the turn. I haven't heard from Bharash or Thursagan, so I'll just put them at appropriate places on the map.

Gabe and Sanem's attacks were slightly faster than the others. Gabe's polearm just slide along the gem without harming it, but Sanem's arrow hit it solidly. The gemstone pulsed with blue light and a wave of energy knocked back the other attacks. A thin stream of white mist issues forth from the center of the sapphire, gathering the other mist on the rooftop and coalescing into the form of a massive, thickly muscled, white-furred monster. Thick mist rolls off the creature’s hide, congealing the air into heavy frost that clings to everything nearby. The creature roars, and in its howl you can hear the pure elemental fury at the heart of a raging blizzard. The sapphire continues to crackle with energy, the blue light pulsing rhythmically, as if it were the beating of the very heart of winter. Picture: Map (will be updated as the turn progresses): Tag all:
The Choke Frost is now centered on the beast.

The mist clings to Zynthis as he moves though it to get to the beast, quickly solidifying into solid ice to bind and slow his limbs. Yet although it lacked power, his blow stuck true, marking the beast for Gabe. Zynthis is at -2 speed until he spends a move action to break the ice away. Gabe is at +5 to hit for his next turn.

Zachary is going to get a little tricky with vertical positioning here, with the potential of freeking out Thurgasan and Gabe. Zack moves to J7, and then centers a Scorching Burst at D7, but at a height of 3, so that it catches both the monster and the crystal (which presumably have a height of at least 2), while missing the party members, who have a height of 1. [dice=20] | +8 | = 26 vs Reflex White 1 | [dice=20] | +8 | = 26 vs Reflex Crystal |
[dice=6] | +6 | = 11 fire damage |
Of particular interest here is whether the attack on the monster or the attack on the crystal appears to have more effect. "Leave room between the creature and the crystal, and I'll conjure a Flaming Sphere there!" Zachary's Combat Status:
Health: HP 27/32 - Surges 5/7- Second Wind 1/1 - Action Points 1/1 Encounter Powers: Chill Strike 1/1, Staff of Defense 1/1 Daily Powers: Flaming Sphere 1/1 - Freezing Cloud 0/1 Utility: Shield 1/1 - Feather Fall 0/1 Basic melee: Staff +1, +4/1d8+1
