"Also, Dragon scales apparently make the best underwear. I'm determined to find out." The Eladrin laughs, "Zachary Tempest. Nice to meet you. And my work.." She pauses for a minute and turns her attention back to her work. Another spark of arcane energy, a blue and red bolt of light and she sits back - smiling, "is done. Here you go Harknail - try it on let me know if it needs adjustments." She hands the newly fitted sword back to the warforged.

Harknail takes the sword from his new friend, attaches it, and takes a few careful swings (there is a crowd around after all). Satisfied, he puts the sword away and says, "I thank thee Raylynn, it is well done."

Zachary will start (or try to start) a conversation about the arcane techniques Raylynn was using. Player has no idea how to put that in dialog, because it is, after all, arcane.

Raylynn looks at Zachary, her faced twisted in confusion, "Arcane techniques? All those words you just uttered have got me completely lost." She stands up and smiles at the wizard, "I respect your skills and understanding, but I fear you won't find any of that with me. I just get feelings, if you understand, the materials they sort of well.. uhm... talk to me, I suppose is the best way to put it. I can do wonderful things with Residuum and alchemical components, old magic items... But I dare say I can't actually relate to you how I do any of it." She ponders on this for a moment before continuing, "You could call it a matter of natural aptitude. It's not that I understand some complex inner workings of the arcane fabrics, it's quite the opposite - the whole idea of the arcane baffles me."

Zack's jaw goes slack, and he stares at her dumbfounded for a few seconds. Then he starts to get excited. "Wait, does that mean you didn't learn it from books? Is it possible that no one has written down the techniques you are using?" Zack pulls out his notebook and starts writing. Frantically. Okay, at this point it would be hard to justify Zack going anywhere with the party without Raylynn. And he may have to buy more notebooks.

"Honestly, never read a book in my life." She smiled, and shook her head when the wizard began to record what he observed, "I bet you'll need a whole libraries worth of those to decipher my process, but I wish you luck!" She turns to go get more food and stops to look back at Zack, "So does this mean I'm in, an official member of the team?"
It's a good thing I have no intentions of ever not-playing Raylynn. She's my artificer, and I fully intend to play her as long as I can!

"Aye, why not? Welcome aboard!" Zynthis replies to Raylynn.

"Team?" Zachary looks around. "Oh. Right. Team." Then he goes back to scribbling.

"Cheers to the team!" Thursagan raises a toast, looks around with a huge smile, and drops face down on the table, starting to snore immediately. Nothing sort of a dragon will wake him, but he will be ready on the morning as if he didn't really drunk a full barrel of beer by himself.

After finishing cleaning all of the mud, dirt, blood, and frost off, Laira Elereth will change into her more comfortable blue and gold gown and finally come down the stairs to join the party. I would have posted sooner, except I didn't know there was a new thread.
Elvish: "I am Lairaunwen Elereth and it is a pleasure to meet you Raylynn." Common: "And judging from your reactions as well as Zachory's maybe we should go looking for an abandoned library. There has to be one filled with texts on artificers and the building of warforged." Laira smiles and adds: "Especially since unlike dragons, most books don't try to eat you. Although to be honest, I'm a little surprised that Zachory isn't busy reading that library we carried back from the tower."

Raylynn replied back in Elven, "Nice to meet you as well, a pleasure to speak in my native language for once." She smiled warmly, and continued in common for the benefit of the others, "Nah, I'm not a book reader. I'll get more by watching Harknail closely, and repairing the damage he sustains in battle. As for books not trying to eat you, well that's not nearly as fun then is it?"

Lairaunwen responds, "Well if it makes you feel any better, any forgotten library most likely is filled with traps and ancient gaurdians for some reason. For all of the arduous treks with little treasure, I for one wouldn't mind an easy adventure with nice rewards for a change."

"Nothing worthwhile is easy" Raylynn winked at the warlock, "Perhaps your library is on the way to a forgotten dragon hoard? Now that Zynthis here has got in into my mind, I really do fancy me some scaled intimates."

Zynthis was listening to the two talking to each other in their strange language until he heard his name come up "No Speakenzee Elvenzee" Zynthis said.

The Artificer turned to the shifter, speaking again in common, "Apologies Zynthis. I said, now that you've gotten the idea into my mind, that I really want me some scaled intimidates." She flashed a small smile, then turned her attention to something else. Quickly pulled out her hand crossbow, a strange contraption with more levers and a longer body than a normal crossbow. Drawing a spanner from her belt pouch she started tweaking it and making minor adjustments, "Gotta keep your tools in top repair. So from where are you all from?"

Laira Elereth is about to reply to Raylynn, but pauses for a few seconds, turns towards Zynthis and comments, "You know Zynthis, maybe you should learn it." Also, except for the greetings, our characters were speaking in common.

I can only assume a conversation is carried out in the language it was started in.
