Tol
After seeing the other warlock succeed at cowing a drake i try to follow suit. i threaten with the blade in hand and summon fireWrathful Aspect to make sure this drake knows i mean business. "Stria! Relay this one the same message." I call out as i tap my blade in my hand menacingly. Intimidate [dice=20] +18 = 28 Intimidate vs Will+10?
The dead necrotic flesh surrounded by eldritch fire I'm sure makes a great impression.[rand=49894962238979224443833194550581192362388062873639537442119880378]

Dart ties the drake up again. As it's currently stunned. "Thank you."+2 We are still in combat time and Dart has already acted this round. Also the Drake is dazed not stunned, that means that it can move or attack but not both, that it grants combat advantage (+2 to hit it), and it can't make opportunity attacks (so it's save to move around it without shifting)

Llewelyn, having been silent for most of the conversation, finally decides to speak up. "Dart, your intentions are admirable, but these creatures are far from wild animals. Whatever has been placed upon them is causing them to act only in aggression, not going for food or even their own survival. Caging them would be an option if we had the resources, but we do not. As a ranger, I sympathize with you for your desire to save them, but as of now, I see not only no way to save them, but that they are a danger to everything, even themselves. We can keep knocking them out, but all that's going to do is prolong this fight. We can debate the moralities of farm animals later."
Llewelyn isn't going to kill the drakes yet, though he does want to convince Dart that this may in fact be necessary.
Twin Strike v AC on Number 2 [dice=20]+10 (+1 from Prime Shot) = 24 [dice=20]+10 (+1 from Prime Shot) = 27
For [dice=10]+2 = 5 [dice=10]+2 = 11
Plus Quarry [dice=8]
Llewelyn then moves to H-7. [rand=6819046575291051434599608406517973267051207465661462236976382003]

Combat over again. #2 is unconscious again, #3 and #4 are awake but subdued for the moment.
Post at will (unless you're posting actions that take significant time).

shift to F-11. Double move to I-12. The he speaks out loud to Stria . Thank you for calm this one down, can you ask it where it is from and who their master is. I am trying to find a dragon castle and have been looking for it for a long time. I think they may know where it is. [/i].

Dart ties drake 2# up again. [dice=20]+2, "Can those of you that are free for the moment find a good strong wagon? Perhaps it can be converted into a strong enough cage. Look, I understand where you are all coming from. You see nothing but monsters. But if you where magically changed into drakes - and had no way of knowing about it. Should you be killed because you are attacking people or would you really need someone to champion your needs and look out for you? I'm not saying that they cannot be put down. What I am saying is I don't kill a creature because I'm selfish, lazy or to make my life easy. I help them when they are clearly in need! We know at least one of these drakes had been used magically. We don't know why. We are making a lot of guesses. A true paladin and other moral people would investigate, impartially as they can be to find out the reasons behind the crime. What I see here are to many unanswered questions? Now I'm going to ask each of you. Will you help me find those answers?[rand=586556798778474303690674831159413208097712136805065872032854240388]

"Now we are at an impass." Romra says, stretching to his full seven foot height for the first time. "I will not allow these creatures to be kept as pets in a cage. Better they're released from the bonds that hold them to this earth. Imagine yourself, mind stolen and soul trapped in your body, would you really want someone to lock you in a cage and poke and prod at you until they realize that your mind is gone? These once noble creatures are best finished off, and then i say we find whomever is bringing back creatures long extinct from an empire long gone. But i repeat, if their minds cannot be returned, i will not allow their misery to continue."

Dart - looks around at the group. "I have little intention of keeping them as pets. Wild creatures belong to nature. But they do need to be relocated and we need mounts to keep up with them as they are faster then we are. As they fly we can best see with a drakes eye view of what they truly need."

Wild creatures belong to nature. Barbatos points towards the unconscious drake, "someone who knows what they are doing should tie that one up, before we run out of rope"Facing Dart, "and they arn't wild animals, they are war drakes, like warhorses or hunting dogs. If you let them go they are going to find someone and eat them".Glancing over towards the damaged barn, "perhaps they'd stop struggling so much if we just fed them"Barbatos wondered if Dart would chip in on behalf of the innocent pigs, it would be a good opportunity to suggest feeding them a gnome.

That's not how that works. Warhorses are just draft horses that have been trained for battle, so they don't spook in a fire fight. They are chosen for their endurance and strength and do to our armor to carry heavy loads. War dogs are chosen for the same thing and are crossbred with dire wolves to increase their strength and speed and are raised from puppies to become war dogs. At least that is how non paladins find them. Paladins find their mounts as part of a secret ritual that I have not been part of yet and come when called after wards. It's likely that the ritual is some form of magical bonding but I don't know the details and even if I did I'd be forbidden from teaching the ritual to anyone that was not a 4th level paladin. Which brings us back to our problem. Now we help the drakes find peace and if we can help the farmers at the same time great or we need to decide who's staying and who's going because I'm going and I can use your help but if I can't get it - I will find help elsewhere. ooc: it may require us to divide the party - which I'm not in favor of because it creates twice the workload for a GM and our GM is very busy as it is.

Barbatos throws up his arms in disgust, "and what by the gods do you think a war drake is?"Pointing towards the drake "this is a domestic animal. It's a big, scaly, winged rottweiler."Pausing to stare at Dart for a moment, "you do understand don't you, that if you just let this thing go it'll fly off and eat someone else"

"I be a simple solder from a time long hence," said Harknail. "I know not the ways of beasts. But even I have heard of Shardminds, and that they are masters of the mind. And Blastishy sayeth that these drakes be altered in mind, not body. And that this change be forever. Llewelyn the Ranger sayeth that these drakes act rabid and must be put down lest they eat others. And Roma, a Warden also in tune with nature, sayeth that better these beasts be put down than caged."
"On the other side, Dart sayeth that they may be altered in body and should be caged and trained as mounts. And Striazionis wanteth to talk with them."
"We have two drakes awake and quiet. Try thou to speaketh with them Stria, determine thee if drakes make sense of thy words. If they be understaning thee, then they be more than just rabid beasts."

Dart said, "I have never said to let them go! Although the thought had crossed my mind - it is the noble and Honorable answer - what it is not - is a wise thought - at least not yet! But it is the right goal! - I said they need to be investigated and relocated to a place safe for them to live and that means far enough away from people that they would be left alone. Beyond that - I have no suggestions yet. I just don't have enough answers to make a smart suggestion other then to study them and learn as much as we can."
Edit: Added character name and quotes for IC speech.

Seeing that both Blastishy and Harknail have asked her to speak to the drakes Stria turns to Drake #3 and begins to converse with it. Speaking in draconic
Greetings oh noble one, do you understand me? Might I ask what you and your fellows are doing here?
Oh pardon my rudeness. I am Striazionis, warlock of the stars, and to whom am I addressing?

The drake looks at her, still cowed from her previous outburst. It shows no sign that it understands what she is saying.

Dart says, "Stria, I think your going to need to take your time earning her trust. You clearly scared her." ooc: I normally take draconic as one of my languages. Did I this time? If so I should also be able talk with the drakes. , "Try limiting yourself to simple commands that a rider might use. Her understanding of draconic may be limited. Such as if you where talking to a small child."
