Dart leaves. Dart checks on the farm animals very carefully. He makes sure the animals are all right. He is studying how they look, color, behavior and markings. Dart will have to climb into the barn to do that. Is that where he is leaving too?

That's where Dart's going. Most of the party just declared war on him and they will find it's going to cost them. But he needs some time to himself to think things through. Revenge is best served cold.

Once Dart has moved away, Popol says to others, keeping his voice low, "It would seem wise to part ways with this gnome quickly. He's threatened us already and it's obvious he takes the side of the drakes against thinking creatures. Let's gather our things and be on our way."

So Dart darts past the drake and into the barn. While the others are busy outside he inspects the frightened animals inside. Overall they are in good shape, but larger animals (the horses and cow) look like they haven't had quite enough to eat lately. The pig is perhaps a bit on the slim side as well, though the chickens are doing fine.
The barn does stink even more than usual. It looks like the stalls haven't been properly cleaned in a while.
I thought it was Dart declaring war on most of the party because he thought rabid animals deserve a chance to live and eat everything else. And they didn't agree with him.

Their departure is delayed by the arrival of reinforcements. The men of nearby farms were charging forth with pitchforks and other farm implements as weapons. When they see the drakes are dead a cheer goes up. They look with approval at the one that had started being butchered. Some are a bit puzzled as to why some of the dead drakes are tied up.
Another man arrives soon, bearing lumber. When he sees the drakes he drops the lumber and rushes for the cottage. He hugs his wife and children, apologizes for not being there when the drakes attacked and then turns to the group.
"My family owes their lives to you. Is there anything I can do to repay you?"

Joe, he has ritual caster as a feat, i though i had bought the ritual : make hole because it was on my character sheet or at least I though it was. I was also roll playing how he would react to a hole in the wall and that he would want to help fix it. he likes making tinkering and fixing and modifying things, so i thought it fitting for him to buy it for that reason . I do believe i bought it at starting..

I do believe i bought it at starting.. I do have him with Make Whole listed as a ritual. All that's missing is arcane components to cast rituals. All artificers have that ritual by the looks of it, along with brew potion (and you can pick two more). I have as having 40 GP left after buying more rituals, just let me know how much you want as components and I'll make the change.

Yeah, I'd say the party declaring war on Dart is pretty much the exact opposite of what has happened here. I don't think I've ever made an effort to compromise with someone when I was declaring war on them. Is Dart Lawful Evil or something?
"Some are a bit puzzled as to why some of the dead drakes are tied up. "
Haha, so am I!
Popol steps up to the farmer who offered help. "I always appreciate information, when it is available. Can you tell me anything meaningful about these drakes, and their unusually aggressive behavior?"

"I think the first attack was a bit over two weeks ago," replied the farmer, "since then there have been more and more of them. And the number of drakes is increasing as well. At first they were just going for the livestock, but then they developed a taste for people. We couldn't let our livestock out to graze, and it wasn't safe for humans to be out either. Then they started ripping though windows and roofs to get at us."
More people arrive, the nearby women folk once word spread, and their children as well. The remaining drakes are skinned and butchered. And someone starts a fire pit going. It's starting to feel a bit festive, as people are free from fear for their lives, at least for the moment.

Dart walks all of the animals outside - so all of the people can see their condition of extreme animal cruelty. He feeds, waters and walks the animals. He leads the animals with a leash. Joe - I used to live on a farm as a boy - cattle need a minimum of 40 gallons of water a day or they will stampede! If this has been going on for weeks - these animals should be dead or dying. Your painting a rosy picture of the animals. Animals left in their own waste and traumatized are always covered in disease and flies. I've seen this type of thing in the real world, it's disgusting! I couldn't even report them. I didn't know where I was when I found the farm. I was hiking in unknown areas while homeless. But the skeletal dead, diseased and dying skeletal-like cattle where everywhere. And the smell of decay was everywhere. This happened 13 years ago and I still remember it as if it happened last week. In our world these people would be arrested and put in jail for treating farm animals like this! And their animals would be taken away. That's a fact!

Popol asks the farmer, "Can you tell us if they come from a certain location or direction?"
Also, hilarious that these people immediately start partying.

Revenge is best served cold. (what god does your paladin serve? tiamat?)" My family owes their lives to you. Is there anything I can do to repay you?" "Well, you could offer us a good rate for the drake hides" waving towards the drakes, "and perhaps we might be able to bring you more"

You never asked in character - so you'll never know as Dart does not carry symbols of his faith on him.

Also, hilarious that these people immediately start partying."They swoop in out of the forest, beyond that is anyone's guess." Well there was supposed to be a weeks long party going on now. But mostly it's relief from being afraid for their lives (for the moment).

Stria seeing the killings of the drakes is slightly hurt, but she felt that with the drakes not responding to her talk, and the words of Llewelyn making sense, she decides that this is what is best for the drakes and the townsfolk. She decides to help Dart with taking care of the animals and walks the horses, feeds them, cleans their stalls, and provides them with fresh water.
I would think it appropriate if we may have our supplies restocked for food and water, and if possible a night or two stay in the local inn for free. If it is not too much to ask.

Dart let's Stria help him as he has his hands full. He also gives the animals a bath. Hes looking the animals over careful for infections knowing that these animal are not suitable for consumption do to them living in their own waste. Sick animals tend to make anyone sick or kills them that eats them. His revenge on the farmer's is to make them see the animals condition and any skilled farmer that truly cares about animals would know that these animals have no value right now and can't be eaten safely. It's better to kill them then risk the animals infecting other farms animals. Unless someone can cast cure disease on them. This farm is going to be bankrupt. So Dart is not going to except any reward from the farm. He'll just say, "He's sorry." and leave it at that. Because he is sorry that the animals have been treated so poorly.

The animals are healthy but hungry. The kids are sent to help clean the stalls and tend to the animals while the parents work on an impromptu feast.
The teenaged girl explains, "We couldn't let them graze because the drakes would have eaten them. And we couldn't clean the stalls as often as we wanted to because we were afraid the drakes would eat us! They got my friend Kathis while she was cleaning her families stalls."
They aren't bad farmers, they just couldn't tend to them properly with drakes going around eating everyone and everything they could find.
Edit: The horses are draft horses for pulling a plow, the cow is a dairy cow. The chickens are in fine shape. The pig isn't as fat as he could be, but it would be safe to eat him. Fortunately for the pig, there is plenty of fresh meat for the party.

" There isn't a local inn, but I'll put up as many of you as I can, relied the farmer. A chorus of "Me too" made it clear that the group would not be lacking in lodgings. Likewise there were many offers to replenish their supplies

Dart finds the animals to be in surprising shape for such poor treatment. But he's going to head out. Once out of sight he turns into a gray fox and staying out of sight move from concealment to brush. He is staying in the shadows from anything on the ground and in the air. His size should allow him to move freely with few delays. Truth he thinks that the party is going to draw the attention of any drakes that are coming and he's to angry with the party for now to help them. Any drakes that serve the attack he wants a head start on when they return home. He'll eat bugs, roots, berries, eggs and mice while he travels and if he needs to sleep he'll stay under a large rock. He should be able to find a crack between two stones or a small abandoned cave of some kind. Direction - I believe is east that the farmer had said the drakes had come from. So that's they way he'll go. rolls: [dice=20]+2 survival ( food )/ [dice=20]+2 survival (housing), [dice=20] +2 hide in shadows +4 size, [dice=20] +2 move silently, [dice=20] +2 search, [dice=20]+2 spot[rand=52340550697408625794813712127507146802343195304272408179328776896]

Dart sneaks away from the group. It takes a while for the group to notice. Meanwhile Dart is heading away from town and toward the east valley ridge. It takes a while for him to actually leave Eldridge, this is a very dispersed town.
