is there any upper windows i can see that my be unblocked? if so can I use a rope and grappling-hook to get to them? If not Nilfree will then try to see if there is anyway of getting into the church, but it looks well fortified and i don't think he will have much luck. he then if no entrance he will then sill stealthy come back to the others and give the report. He will however try going through the town to see if there is any more information i can get and report.

"So you talk at them not to them like the rest of us. That's disappointing. Can you train me as a druid while we travel and will you?" said Ka'lion also keeping his voice down and thinking he should of left his gear with everyone else. Vadania chuckles, " I need to learn more about being a druid myself before I can teach others."

Led by Vadania and Ka'lion the rest of the group begin to circle the village, another noise and a glimpse of movement draws their attention to a stable near the inn. For now Vadania will continue circling the town looking for trails made by large numbers. But after she circles the town she'll want to go back to the stables to check out what's there.

"Let's take a look at the barn. It's a good bet someone is protecting their livestock or the animals drew a dangerous predator. I'm going to leave my stuff next to the barn when the party gets there." says Ka'lion, When the party gets to the barn. Ka'lion is going to knock, "Anyone at home?" he'll call loudly

The stable is open, Ka'lion can see that a single black riding horse stands within, still saddled.
Looking upwards Nillfree spies a potential entrance - the bell tower - though he knew from experience that the inner door to the tower was often locked and barred for just such a reason.

Ka'lion goes into the barn watching all sides, "Easy boy. Easy." says Ka'lion, He will lead the horse outside and mount. He'll look around at the greater height. Then he'll get off and have the druid exam the animal. listen+4 search +4 handle animal +3 spot +2 handle animal +3 [dice=20] spot +2 [dice=20] listen+4 = [dice=20] tracking in the barn - with attention to the rafters and other hide spots. +4 [dice=20] this animal is the first clue as to what happened. Either he/she was just saddled and the noise the druid heard was someone trying to steal the horse or someone was trying to saddle up to go for help or the animal was saddled a long time ago and do to saddle sores needs the saddle removed and after a careful examination healed.[rand=4257647090125829811766121536493361210929998196665147581561468542]

Nilfree will head back to the others, he has got the most info he can get at this time. locks he can do yet it being barred not so much. being silent in the night he will try to relocate his friends a fast as possible, but still hiding and being careful as he goes. let me know when i find the others, it may take some time. I don't know if i need new rolls for things or if i can keep the old ones. the below are if i need new rolls. hide [dice=20]+ 9 =29 listen[dice=20]+ 6 =23 move silently[dice=20]+ 6= 18 search [dice=20]+ 7 = 20 spot [dice=20]+4 = 9 [rand=985619704704731750283936737105254390090645756572544334338419139385]

O my bad i thought we all got there a lot later then, and i thought we waited for nightfall so that i could stealth in better. if not that's ok, just more of an impressive hiding in daylight . and no i will not wait that long i will come back when i have the info regardless of the time outside.

O my bad i thought we all got there a lot later then It is a lot later than that - you've travelled most of the day to reach here, though it's not night yet.The horse seems somewhat vague and listless, but not injured in any way. When Ka'lion attempts to mount the animal immediately bucks and continues to do so until free of the barbarian at which point it returns to it's docile state and wanders back into the barn. The animal's tracks indicate that it arrived relatively recently and it's rider walked into the village. The barn is otherwise empty. As Ka'lion again approaches the horse and attempts to remove it's saddle he finds that there are no buckles to release save for those holding it's saddle bags closed. Nillfree quietly slips in behind the party, they were easy enough to find as Vadania had indicated this building to him before moving on. (Ride test DC12 to dismount safely, or take D6 falling damage)

Ka'lion removes the saddle and bags. He'll look in the bags for a brush. If there are no belts it is not worth provoking the animal.

Ka'lion removes the saddle and bags. As mentioned there are no buckles holding the saddle or bags in place - Ka'lion has no idea how they were put onto the horse nor how to remove them without brute force or a knife. Ride test please (for Ka'lion's aborted mount)Standing outside the stable Belomme glances around, half expecting an angry knight or barbarian to come charging from one of the buildings to investigate the disturbance - the horse's thrashing had not been quiet.

he looks for the druid, and give the full report that he has so far. " when i got to the church it was barred, locked, and was barricaded all over. if they were trapped by someone, or a gang they would have burned down the church and have the towns people die after they took what they wanted of value first. I don't know if anyone is alive in there but i did not hear anything in there. I could have picked the locks but it being barred meant they truly don't want any one to get in. my worry is that they may have trapped a THING in there, and had to leave for safety. But then how do u do that from the inside and still get everyone out, you can't. my point is that this town does not give us much to go on and it my be best we leave. kicking down the door my be the best option. I don't see any option but if they are in there they will be afraid and will fire crossbows, stab etc, the first thing that tries to get in being us. I leave what we do next up to you, but i rather the towns people not try and kill me. nor do i want to be responsible for letting lose a monster. being as such i'll let u pick."

"Well we could try knocking on the church door and see in anyone answers. Even if they don't let us maybe they'll tell us what's going on," suggested Vadania. Being unsophisticated Vadinia went for the simple idea. She knew of the custom of knocking from the very few visitors she and her mentor had had over the years.

"Has to be a spell. Has to be. A mount spell? Are there such things? It doesn't make since otherwise. It's like the saddle is glue on. Anyone here know how to appraise things? We can leave the weapons we don't need for things we do need. Let's just not take more then half the value of the goods. Do knock as ask at the church first and find out whats got everyone so scared. But I'm for breaking down the door if we need to. If this village is dead. We need to know about it." say's Ka'lion

Ka'lion mutters something about a spell, blood dripping down his face from his nasty fall. Belomme shakes his head - it looked like the man had never ridden a horse before, but he was certainly grabby. Turning towards the horse the mage eyeballed it for a moment but made no comment on it's nature. Outside the sun was beginning to set. The group could still get some distance from the village if they left now but if they stopped to search the place thoroughly for supplies they would not get far before dark. (Ka'lion is at 15 hp, you may not want to try mounting any more horses until he learns how to ride...)

"That's embarrassing." said Ka'lion pulling out a rope and throwing it over the big support beam above, "My mother always said when you fall get up and try again. But use your head the next time." He ties it off on a nearby beam and tests it to make sure it wont come lose if he falls again. Then he wraps under his arms and around his waist. He tests it. rope use [dice=20] +1 = 18 handle animal "Easy boy Easy. Let's try again. Just be a little less angry next time." The horse simply runs in circles and then bolts for the exit, leaving Ka'lion hanging from the rafter. Moments later it returns to it's original position with the same blank expression - it's behaviour predictable but decidedly unnatural.
Outside nothing has changed, the village is as still and silent as when the group arrived.

To Ka'lion's comments about looting just half of the stuff, she replied, "We don't need anything here and carrying it would just slow me down."
Vadania tried not to snicker at the antics of Ka'lion trying to ride a horse that would only accept it's master. She succeeded mostly, but couldn't keep a smile off her lips.
Once the horse had left Ka'lion hanging (literally), she came to help him free himself from his ropes.
After helping Ka'lion, she stated, "Ok, lets do this the easy way." She then headed over to the church with her wolf and anyone else who would follow. Reaching the church, she banged on the door and shouted, "Anyone in there?"

So I'm trying really hard to resist saying "I have a bad feeling" but...
Aelos is curious as to why the church would be sealed as such. It is not often one would wish to seal something inside and prevent it's escape. He whispers to the druid, "If no one answers, I'm going to try and detect if there is any magic."
