There is no answer from the church.
Aelos holds out his symbol, a flash of blue light crossing over his eyes. There is magic here, something has been summoned. The power is recent but now faded, whatever was here is gone.

Ka'lion returns to his bag get his ax and returns to break the door hinges or lock unless the rogue wants to pick it. No point in doing any more damage then needed.

Setting his rope and bag down Ka'lion fishes around for a suitable tool, pulling several small axes from what appears to be his own personal arsenal.
The door is perhaps 2 inches thick, oak, and hinged to open inwards. There is a lock, though it looks relatively simple, and given the windows it is likely barricaded, if not also barred inside.
Ka'lion's first swing echoes around the village as he takes a shallow bite from the door - this will not be quick.
Nillfree shakes his head, standing back from the flying splinters he glances up to assess the time and catches a glimpse of movement - a curtain, the upper floor of the inn. Is someone watching them?

OOC: Did the paranoid about ambush Vadania notice the movement? She has a very high spot and listen (+10 each).

Not drawing attention to himself, not wanting the thing in the window to know he saw them. turns to his friends, ok don't look and Not to alarm you guys i just saw something move in the upper story of the inn. I don't know if it is friend or foe so watch your back. i don't know what their up to yet, but if we rush them they may panic and flee. I may be the best to talk with them but this time i will need some back up. After all i don't know what trouble there might be in there or who/ what it will come from. Anyone willing to back me up?" the rest of you find out everything you can and i and who ever is with me will meet back hear. if you see dancing light spell, then come to our aid for we might need it. if u need ours send some kind of signal and we will come back.(( spiting the party , honestly not a good idea but Nilfree does not know that and it is in his character to want to investigate.))

OOC: Sorry, your statement is way too confusing, are you asking the party to split up into 2 groups, with the first one going to talk to the people upstairs, and the other group looking around for clues? Either way, we must enter the building.
"I'm willing to help with talking to whoever may be in there, but first we must open this place up. I detected some magic, but whatever it was is now gone." Aelos isn't going to state any speculation, but he's somewhat worried if the demon is involved.

"Stay together until we get inside. Then two of us need to go out the back and circle around out of sight of the room upstairs and go to the room silently. Someone should head out in front to keep the watchers eyes on them." said Ka'lion as he finishes the door.

"So you're not going to chop though the church door after all?" asked Vadania of the barbarian.

OCC: ok i can simply word it differently. He wanted to split into two specialized groups. one stayed hear. the other sneaking off and go and keep tabs on the window and try and find out more without starting a fight. Taking along ONE other person as back up in case a fight did happen. the rest was put in as fall back options in case one side was attacked and could not handle it by themselves and need the other to come help. I did put in that Nilfree thinks it is a great idea but I out of game think it suicidal, and reckless. yet that is how he is and i have said and done this in character as well. i was just trying to play how my character would have reacted to the situation. Next time he my go off and not tell you, it is just the way he is. Hope that clarified things a bit if not it was the best i could do.

The group stops to consider their options. The inn is about 40 yards away, it's entrance facing towards the group.

Ka'lion finishes chopping through the door and heads into the church. What do they see? Ka'lion will point out any back rooms for someone to check out. "When you find the back door circle around. Even if you need to climb out a window."

Ka'lion finishes chopping through the door and heads into the church. (That's going to take some time - the actions of other players will determine if Ka'lion makes it through the door before any other events occur)

So totally misread it and thought the guy was on the second floor of the church. Things are making more sense to me now.
"We should stop trying to open this for now, and see if that person knows anything. They tried to seal this for a reason, I'd like to know why, and perhaps, what to expect."

keeping an eye on the window Nilfree will put forth his idea a second time" Then i will put forth once more that only two go, to meany of us is likely to scare them off or worse. Them running or fighting us is not what we want. Turning to Aelos I think that should be you and I that go. Turning to the man they need to protect. I am to protect you and your welcome to come along with us or stay hear with them so they can still protect you. but my only request if you come is that you let cleric or myself do the talking. You can blast them if things turn into hostilities on their part, but not until then. Getting info from them is critical and them dead is very hard to do that. Is this agreeable to you?"

Vadania replies, "This town is giving me a bad feeling, I don't think we should split up again. There is safety in numbers."

There may be safety in it yes, but the only way to know what is coming or already hear is to get info. In order to do that we can't all go. so then we have a very odd problem in that regard. we can't do one with out the other, yet both are needed. that is way with the 6 of us 3 to a team should be more then enough. you are not all coming with me and if i have to go by myself to get it done so be it i'm done talking about the matter. I am not going in to any diplomatic talk with (pointing at the barbarian) him. i am not budging on that. let me do what i am good at, let me help you and if i am to do so he can't come. That being said he is hurt and need to be looked after, you have good sight so u can see if we need help and keep a look out hear. pointing to the other cleric. he can heal him if need be. two op teams all have the ability to survive if anything happens, we will be fine. So i see no issue with this. I am leaving now, if these two want to come with me fine if not fine. im done trying to convince the rest of you this is the best solution. and if they run cause you all did not take my advice, then it is not on me it will be on you. as he starts to walk away towards the inn looking at Aelos and (Andrews character) you coming or not? cause we need to move out now if you are.

"That's what I want you to do but go in unseen. Go out the back door of the church. Don't give a potential sniper the upper hand." said Ka'lion. Cut through the door should of been done by now. Thick doors are week at the henge's.

Vadania pointed out, "We'd have to actually get into the church before he could go out the back door."

Ka'lion pushes at the church doors, they don't budge. The doors must weigh several hundred pounds and the thick iron hinges bolted onto the inside are not easy to get at. With some kind of a pry-bar it may be possible to twist the doors out after breaking them away from the topmost hinges, provided the door is not barred. Otherwise backbreaking labour is the only thing that will bring this door down.
Behind him Nillfree turns and walks towards the inn, motioning Aelos and Navarre to follow. The group make it only a few yards when suddenly a black cloud erupts around Navarre.
Staggering backwards he chokes out "Magic! Back!" and Nillfree himself yelps in surprise and fear as he feels creatures crawling around his feet, all but invisible in the low fog save for the glistening of thousands of tiny red eyes.
(roll init - the group is all within moving distance of one another)
