He is not one to give hope that is not his path nor is it to fight in a conventional ways as u say we must. Look at all his tactics, so far. when we stayed in formation we did not do well, but when he tried a bizzar outlandish idea it turned the tide of battle. One does not win with men and steal alone. Your must outsmart the enemy, know when to cut your loss and retreat. All forms of a leader, but a true leader are most found in ones who dont want to be them. I never understood why that was, but its what i have seen.

"It is not his choice of methods, it is time. Even in it's weakened state the demon has brought such devastation to the fell in barely two months, and has already eliminated one of the weapons created to destroy it - the order of the flame. I don't know how much time we have."

Ka'lion lets the party know that others are seeking the book. He doesn't know why? But for good or evil. He's not giving it to them. It's the perfect book to start building his own library. and he's leaving now and not the next day as he had planned. He'll ask if Elben will translate it. If not. He'll study the unknown language and try to figure it out for himself. In fact that is where he should of done this level. He'll do it next level. Hindsight is so 20/20. Then he lets the party know where he's going. Perhaps the party can learn why Clearwater was attacked in the first place. That would be very useful information. In fact the more he thinks about it. That is exactly what the party should do. This all started with the barbarians attack on Clearwater. Perhaps we really should find out why? Remember the barbarian turned on his own shaman when it turned undead. Perhaps they know something we don't. They might even in truth be on our side and we don't know it.

Ka'lion lets the party know that others are seeking the book. (it would have been the party who had asked for others to watch for Ka'lion - since he had run off with the book before Eldon had seen it. The old man has yet to awaken). And I will need an answer on your plans for the character as it's obviously impossible to run a split game where one group is adventuring and the other is in extended travel/downtime.

I think the Ka'lions still with the party - they need the same information and he just figured out where we need to go to get it.

OOC: Sorry I missed so much. The site forgot to send me emails telling me of new postings.
Vadania says, "I was looking for Eldon as well, I have a message to deliver to him, though it may be redundant now."
Vadania says, "I agree, it seems that the Demons gather their strength faster than we do, so the longer we wait the stronger we get. I'm willing to try training Ka'lion, but he expects results in weeks not the years it took me to learn. "
Vadania, "As for me, I seem to be connected with the demon in some way, we were looking for signs of it's release when the long dead arose. We were in the catacombs when it escaped, and sent though time a month into the future. We found the remnants of those who had captured the demon. And somehow I feel somewhat responsible for it's escape, though I couldn't tell you how. Hopefully Ka'lion will leave the book behind if he leaves, that may be the best chance we have to fight the demon, but if disappears with Ka'lion than things are just that much harder."

Each student is different, i have faith in your skill as a teacher, and him a student. u will find the best way to teach him, he will find a way to learn for that is what he seaks. He can help u learn for teaching makes u study harder making you go into untaped ablities. In time you both will be powerful druids.

"Vadania, if you remember correctly I had to destroy the stand the book was on and remove the chains keeping it in place. If the thing had blown up in my face. I'm the one that would of died. The book belongs to me and it sounds like I'm going to have to teach myself to read it. The priest we came here to find is unable to tell us anything. But like all such treasures the information contained is accessible to anyone and everyone that reads it and I don't mind sharing. I mind when others attempt to steal something I nearly killed myself to gain. But thanks for teaching me. The things you don't know, I'm sure someone else in the party already knows.
All that said. This all started in Clearwater and soon after the barbarians invaded. Those barbarians are all dead. So the numbers of barbarians where they came from should be far less powerful. I think that's where we need to go. I think they killed themselves to stop the demon from excepting. They most likely had a vision or omen that warned them of the demons escape. We where hired to check the seals and to found out if the warning was true. The barbarians felt betrayed by the temple in Clearwater and attacked the city. I think that may of been what really happened. We just where not told everything that was really going on because the temple didn't think we needed to know. But that means we really need to go into the enemies barbarians lands and capture a scout and find out what they know." said Ka'lion

I ask only two things before we head out. one we wait till the cleric has woken up but on the mend. If we ask now he would not be able help as much,he my be able to give some imput and i need to hear what he has to say, not asking is not the same as not able to, he may or may not bit its worth a shot to get more intel. i have faith he will recover soon. If he does not then the other cleric here will found out why. The second i must return this ring to the daughter of the baron or lord of this land. I found out it belongs to her family, i keep my promiss to the dead. Also she my be a source of information we have not used so far, she may be of help to all of us. We have two valid means of intel i ask we use them fist.

"George. We have no idea if the priest is going to wake up. We also came here for him to translate the book. But we don't need him. We never did. Now don't get me wrong. I prefer field training to relying on spells to teach me anything but my grandmother, mother and father used to cast on me comprehend language spells every day so I could learn languages quickly and to read and write. We can read about a page a minute with a comprehend language spell. So if we need to translate the book the hard way it would take us a few weeks. Someone that can read the book should be able to translate the book with in a few days. So it's a lot faster if you know the language but we have never been dependent on someone else reading it. In fact you should carry a few copies of the spell for talking with the barbarians.
As far as the ring you should return it now. So you don't forget." said Ka'lion

Ya good idea but before i need you all to agree your not leaving without me, i would like the rest of you to come. She has asked all of us to meet her anyway. i agree we dont know when he is better and it worries me the demon did something very, dark, that none of us saw. If he is here wakes up and kills not many can stop his power. That fult would lay on me. Im doing my due diligence. I think We waite one full day from now, If he is not better then im way out of my depth as i said, but until such time i owe it to the people to stop that deamon from comming back, i could use some training by him and my fellow cleric here. That fight took all the power we had, if we ever come across another one i want to be prepared.

Note that the book is more of a visual history than a written account - it shows people, places, and symbols which mean little out of context which is why Altar was unable to make much headway with it.
What are the groups plans regarding the invitation to meet the dead baron's daughter? George has a ring to return but an invitation has gone out to all of you.

All of us go to see the baron's daughter. She may have information or gifts for the party that are earned.

As the afternoon wears on the group are gathered together to be escorted to the lords daughter - now ruler of Burr Town. Despite all that has happened Lady Alara has chosen to take the audience within the keep, perhaps seeking to cement her new position before others call it into question.
There is quite some activity around the keep as the group approach, efforts to clear the courtyard and repair the fortifications damaged by the Ibixian siege. Many animals have also been brought up from the town to be fed on from keeps stables.
The party is led not to the central room of the keep but the chapel which has been converted into a temporary audience chamber. Lady Alara - the young woman the group had seen protected earlier by the prisoners - appears pale and gaunt but determined, and surrounded by similarly tired looking retainers. Curiously several pages stand nearby holding what appear to be clothes or perhaps flags.
Alara stands, slightly unsteadily, as the group approaches and bows her head, "I thank you travelers, for bringing hope and salvation to our town. You will forever be welcome here."
She turns to George, "I am told that you found the signet ring of my family", with some sadness, "it was passed to my brother at the height of the siege and now it falls to me to. Thank you for ensuring it's safety."
(The group knows little about Alara or her family, save that she is descended from a long line by the name of Stormwalker in reference to the magical powers of the first to rule Burr Town with that name, Keldan Stormwalker, and his domineering daughter Mordea who would consolidate control over the town for future generations. These events however were long ago.)
(i'll add Ka'lions horse to the character status page - what name do you want to give it?)

"Runaway. In memory of the first time Ka'lion road him."
"Your welcome. I'm sorry you lost your loved ones. Is there some other reason you asked for us to stop by? Because we are leaving soon." say's Ka'lion, "We have old debt's to repay."

George blesses the ring with a bit of words, " may this ring guid you on your path of rulership and may it be a symbol of hopes renewed, in time of great need such as this." He then hands her the ring if that is custom or to her maidens if she prefers them to hand it to her. ( as in your not alowed to touch her hand for example but they are.). " my ladyship my friend is right we must leave soon, if there is any information that you feel we could use it would be most kind of you.

"I want answers to a few questions that can't be answered by magic or by anyone here honestly and I think the three sisters have other plains for me and the others.
Based on the clothes your servants are holding. I have a feeling you wanted to hire us for some job such as city defenders. Where such a job would be a very nice offer and the others may not want to turn it down as we are nearly copperless and I'm not paying anyone anything other then splitting all treasures found evenly.
You'd think a job should be what we are after. It's not what I'm after. I'm after something more complex then that. Such as a good night’s sleep. I made a few promises that so far I have been unable to honor to the dead and the needy. I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing I broke my promise to the dead or my friends.
When this things over the others may wish to retire here but that's up to them. I'd find it to confining to live under any ones rule and I can't breath. So I don't want another job. The last one didn't pay us anything and almost got us killed.
We came to your city to deliver a message to Elban. We where hoping he could translate my book but he's to busy sleeping to help anyone at this time. So I'll have to teach myself to read it. But I'm done waiting for him to wake up.
Clearwater was attacked and I want to know why? It's as simple as that. And I still haven't been able to find enough sweet water to repair the waters of a needy monasteries' waters and until I do I can't honor that promise either.
This all started with the demon's escape and we are going to try do something about it but I'm going to take my time to do it right. I have a few ideas that may work but we are nowhere near powerful enough to use them.
So for now at least we are going to train on the road and learn as much as we can. The real problem working for you or anyone else is because of all the deaths all of you seem to want the demon dead yesterday and killed quickly If that's what you want - you need highly skilled combatants - as in at least 12th level or better. We are nowhere near that skilled.
Besides your not the only people we can help and well help while we get skilled enough to defeat the demon and his friends. In any case if I’m not mistaken the demon should not be killed. Based on what I’ve seen, my bet is he’d just return as some kind of lich and once he did. No one would ever be able to stop him.” said Ka’lion, "I'm not here to die as some kind of hero. I'm here to remove the demon danger for good. But it may take years. The Clearwater temple took years to cage it the first time. And it worked for a while. But it works no more. The next option needs to do a better job." said Ka'lion

George is silently standing he know diplomatic talk was not ka'lions strong suit but he was right on many acounts but there was one thing he did say that did not fallow, the cleric in bed is not too busy nor does he not want to help, he simply needed rest. Yet ka'lion was use to people not willing to help in the past. But saying so right now would not convince him
" If i may speak My lady? as long winded as my friend is, i may be more so but ill do my best to condens it. he is very blunt but honest in what he thinks and feels its not misplaced. He did not asume what you had to offer, but its not a far jump for others have offered low pay for not the best work and did not treat them well. we cant stay for its not where our path leads us, so if u did offer a job i speak only for me but i could not except it. So its not to far a jump in why he was thinking what motive u had in asked us here, for the only authority he has meet abused him and his team other then your captian of the gaurd. You can undersand high ranks make him uneasy and give much suspension of them for they nver help but say they " might" or do this o go do that" he beats to his own drum. what he is getting at is no one so far has given us information and or gear to stop the demon for good and its that in what we need. It would go a long way in helping others but he does not wish a title of hero for doing so, he wants to uphold a promise does not make him a hero, nor wishs to be treated as one. If im wrong in thinking this i need clearing on that aspect. a full fight with demons and its armies we would not win, and took great power we dont have yet to stop him. he is saying we need to think it out and do it right so mistakes dont happen, many die if we mess the plan up even a little. i did not know of the promise he made before i met him but as a cleric i must help honor the dead, as he does.
