Looking at the gnoll, " Is she yout kin? Are you her mother or sister by chance? We dont wish any harm to the child if we go in there to get her she may give us hell. The gnoll captive answers, obviously still not recovered from being broken, " She is the daughter of the chief, so she is my daughter, but she is not of my flesh." OOC: In other words, she's the daughter of one of the other wives of the boss (and the boss).

Zem opening the door a just crack so he could heard in next room. " Little one, if you can hear me and understand what im saying, i would like you to know i understand your afride of us. That is not what we wanted to do. im sorry that we made you run and hide and if you think us mean know that im sorry. All we wanted was for human people to stop getting hurt. since that has happened no harm has come to any of your kind. So a good start is to just talk with us? Is that something your ok with? My name is zem whats yours?" There was no response from the doorway, but the gnoll in the cage spoke up, the first time she had done so without being directly asked a question, "She is likely hiding, sure that you will kill her for injuring the human we were keeping for food." OOC: For those that forgot, the woman captive did indicate it was the small gnoll that chopped off the mans leg. And it was the small gnoll that was cooking his leg when you first saw her. Also from the gnoll captive, she had been ordered to cook a meal.

OOC: Just moving things along since there aren't any real encounters left...
The group enters the next room expecting an ambush, but none comes. Instead they find the gnoll teenager hiding and trying to be invisible. Although her will isn't broken, she offers no resistance to being captured. Having seen one of the harem in a cage, she's fully aware that this team has defeated, and most likely killed her parents. She has no delusions that she could inflict any serious damage, so she will take the path that lets her live at least a little longer.
With the last of the gnolls accounted for, the group can go about looting the common gnolls treasure. Not expecting anything fragile, brute force proves to be a good substitute for finesse with locks. The traps they were warned about were crude, and more along the lines of marking the intruder rather than slaying them (paint not poison). Most can be set off from a safe distance using a spare spear they found in the room. It takes a bit of time, but the group is able to gather the treasure without injury, though the spear was looking rather colorful.
All together they have gathered 30 GP, 10 lbs of silver (500 SP), and 20 lbs of coper (1000 CP)
Fortunately they have a cart to carry the bulkier coins in.
There are no incidents as the group leaves with their 2 gnoll captives. Vetch and Stravania go to fetch the horse and soon the cart is ready to go. With the magic map to guide them, they will be able to easily find the road to moonhaven, so they'll be able to make good time.
OOC: Do you want to leave the door to the gnoll lair open or closed when you leave? Are you tightly binding the gnolls and carrying them in the cart, or hobbling them and having them walk?

Bound but able to walk cause they know full well if they try anything we will not hold back, its evil to hobble them so zem will not take it light if anyone tries to do so.
we leave it closed, open is just asking for monster to move in.
On the trip zem speaks to the child trying to get her to understand that had not wished to kill her parents and he did not mean to leave her parentless, he tells her that her choices from now on will have outcomes, inorder to have good ones she needed to make better choices. Zem wants to give her that slim chance.
He will not seek capital punishment for kid for the man did live but she will need to make full amends meaning that she will need to help man and his family. Basically jovial hall as a cook. If she continues to go the way she is then jail, he is trying very hard to pervent her from totaly destorying her life.
Gnoll women will be her legal prenatal until she is adult. She will be under house arrest for one year. Then if she does anything illegal she does hard time kid is then on her own
Zem hates the idea that a person would think ill of him when he did his best to do what was right. A fact he my have to get use too in this case.

Once they get to city zem will tell guards he needs to place the two gnolls in custody, but he needs to talk to who is incharage of what to change them with.
Once ge talks with person , zem wants to work with them to formulat the prosses above so that way jusice is done, yet there is no public hanging of a kid. He is doing his best to find middle ground bit more then they deserve but then zem has not done much kindness in his life. He is trying to be a better man.
If that can't be arranged then he pleaded his case and did best he could, and will let people decide but not stick around if its exicution.
( meaning wishes party leaves by then or will not watch at very least.)

OOC: By hobble I meant a rope between the legs that allows walking but not running. Sort of like wearing a long tight dress. Arms would have to be tied also to prevent the gnolls from untying themselves. As for the rest, I'll need to think on that a bit.

( np, zem is not looking for special treatment. what the city law says goes and does not mind if they say no to his request. He just wanted to ask what options were there and give a few of his own that would in his hope make most people happy and ok with things.
Zem is good, so he is trying to do most good he can while keeping the peace and everyone most importantly the party and i kinda think he failed in that ( sorry), tho some wish them dead they still get a trial, zem just did not want to be the one to order it done. mercy can at times be his weekness and i wanted to give him a character flaw, "see the good in the bitter darkness".
I for one as the player honestly would just hand them over and be done and move on and i think most of the players may at this point be on same track so i have no issue if we move on to next adventure.)

Vetch will remain quiet while in the town. He has had less than warm receptions before. However, with them bringing in the gnolls, perhaps things will improve this time. He will follow Zem's lead and speak only when the group gathers for its meeting.

((Sorry for my lack of replies. I've been quite busy with helping to renovate my house and other stuff.))
Bennegar remains mostly silent through the rest of his time in the gnoll base, having spent most of his energy in his fight for freedom. When they return to town, he keeps silent, and he pulls his hood low over his face to hide his unusual appearance. Lizzy, his spear, remains completely silent, as well, so as not to draw undue attention to them. He sticks near Vetch, following his lead to avoid trouble from the locals. Inwardly, however, he is aglow with wonder and excitement, having not been anywhere near a major settlement or town in quite a long time. Despite his reclusive nature, he quite enjoyed forays into greater civilization, taking it as an opportunity to learn about people and gain understanding about how various cultures function.

zem sits them down at the table with the full party there :
" First i would like to thank each of you for a mission completed, well done. I know not killing the two gnolls did not sit well with a few of you. As i told harknail I will be more mindfull in how i handle that kind of situation.
On a better note we did find a lot of loot and as i said when you agreed to take me on that i would take bit less. tho we do need to divy out who got/gets what so did anyone take notes in what was found? so far i have down: the sword, map, bracers, amulet and the gold, copper and silver are we missing anything to add to that list?"

Hey guys. i am sorry to back out of the game. This seems like the best time since the gnolls are dealt with which is the reason that Oris entered the fight. thanks for allowing me to join for the short time that i played.

What I have as treasure is: Graefling Map of Unseen Lands Iron Armbands of Power Amulet of Protection +2 bag of holding 6 gems worth 100 GP each (1 each), 10 GP of formerly corroded silver 3 large art objects (worth 250 GP each), 80 GP, 2 potions of healing 30 GP + 500 SP + 1000 CP
That's what was found inside the gnoll home. I think some coins were found on gnolls outside the home, but I didn't record those on my treasure sheet.

Everyone can level up to level 5.
Also, you have a LOT of trail rations (assuming you empty what the gnolls had stolen)
I'll post details on what happens to your gnoll captives when I have more time. Short version: they get to live for now.

Assuming we've found a buyer for the artwork and gems, and having whoever takes a healing potion from the loot pile getting less gold in the amount of the healing potion as Zem suggested, the total will be 966 GP split 7 ways plus 610 GP split 6 ways (as Bennegar was not present yet when we obtained the 610 GP).
If I am correct in this, Stravanya will take her 240 GP share and buy some Acrobat Boots (PHB 246) and Investigation Gear (MME 124)
She then sells one of her original healing potions to buy a set of footpads and a whistle (MME 124) leaving her with 4 GP.
If anyone wants a 50 GP healing potion for 10 GP I could sell it to them instead of the store lol (I can only sell it for 1/5 what I bought it for according to the Players handbook)
For leveling up she choses the Bond of Foresight Daily Power & replaces her Heavy Blade Expertise Feat with the Melee Training Wisdom Feat.
