" sounds great to me, yes she has the most anyway and may give us a better deal. Lets speak to the captain of the gaurd before we see her, going unannouced is poor form. This time tho she did not like lengthy talk so short and to the point is best, but not overly blunt.
we have x,y,z we would like to trade for x,y,z.
she will ask about the others, all we need to say is we had a dissagrement and parted ways, nothing more. Telling her how you went about it would make her upset to say the least, its what i have obsurved about women they have the need protect other women. she would see it as disrespectfull."
He goes to find the captain of the gaurd.

George and Garrot find the guard captain overseeing a new line of defences around the town, and are directed not to Alara but to her seneschal Osbern in the keep - an aged man in charge of the towns finances.
Some mention is made of Alaras ritual of coronation but the guard captain confesses to have little knowledge of the details, only that it was an ancient and secretive ritual undertaken by the descendants of the Stormwalker line on ascension to power.
Upon reaching the keep they find Osbern to be a shrewd and humourless man, but willing to hear their offers.

"We have some magical artifacts we'd like to trade for things we need. Our party has heard that the ibaxian are headed for the Lizardmen and the barbarians that attacked Clearwater. We think to wipe their children out. Their children are innocent no matter what their parents have done. And more importantly we'd like to know why Clearwater was attacked in the first place. Based on your reputation as a legendary haggler we prefer not to trade with you. We'd end up being lucky to leave with our underwear after word." complemented Ka'lion

Ka'lions words have no impact on the man, or at least none he can see. He replies simply, "Lady Alaras coronation shall take many hours. When she emerges perhaps she will see you, perhaps not, but I will see to it that she hears your plea for audience."
He adjusts himself in his chair, his furniture seemingly a size too large for his body, "the Ibixian, the lizards, and the barbarians have fought since before Burr Town itself was founded. They do not care about innocence, they respect only strength, and if they attacked Clearwater then it is most likely they did so simply because they thought they could win."
Sitting back, "it would not have been the first time. Now what is it exactly that you desire?"

We need coin, lighter and better non metal armor - bracers or gloves of dexterity are best for our needs but other devices may work for us to. We don't need another cloak but we do need a horse for my companion and a good map of the areas.
In truth in an ideal world I'd want bracers of defense - the good kind, gloves of dexterity - the good kind, rings of protection - good kind, an amulet of natural armor and a backpack of holding. But this is not an ideal world. I'll settle for getting back to a more manageable weight load from our gear. And as the three tribes value strength. Items that enhance strength. coin. would not be rejected. Sound okay to you? I know the weapons are extremely powerful and the hammer is more powerful with amulet and deigned to fight the demons. Beyond that it's a lot of guess work." said Ka'lion

" as you can see she may have a need for them and simple merchants would not be able to afford the needs we have. Its a simple trade to help enrichen her state as well as us. I know you don't have much time, so i think it time to take our leave thank you for your time. we will stay in a inn if she wishes to send for us."

They well go to the tavern and get some sleep. Afterward over a meal they'll lay out the table to be a 3'D map in their room as best as they can to figure out a fast path that the horses can handle.

Now eating in the room " ok so lets list all the gear we have on a list and list of gear we need on another. I should get in as much practice as i can. Next we need to know what spells i should prepare. Have any ideas where they would be located? The shortest distance between them and us is best."

It's a symbol of good luck and good karma where I come from and I like primitive tools. It's a bug! Most boys among humans like bugs. They are neat! That's all the reason I need but this one is also a powerful tool and I have a feeling that it was tied to my axes powers." said Ka'lion

Before they leave Osbern informs the them that before any talk of purchase would be considered the mage Vassily would, at their expense, be required to examine and assess the items. Should their claims prove accurate the cost of identification would be returned with any purchase.
Both Ka'lion and George had met Vassily before - he had even examined the hammer in detail and informed Ka'lion that the power it contained was considerable but locked away waiting for a bearer to prove their worth.
A meeting with him is easy enough to arrange if desired and it seems clear that Osbern would not buy items without knowing what he was getting, but other townsfolk might not be so discerning - weapons had been in high demand when Ka'lion was last here and simply announcing the sale in an inn or the town square might draw forth prospective trades.
As before there are no horses here, but the town has coin and mundane equipment including armour for purchase. A good map of the area will cost anything from a few silver to a few gold depending on the size, detail, and material but none of the maps available show anything much of the contents of the fell nor the lizardman lands beyond landmarks and a few paths between Burr Town and Deviln’s Hollow.
The safest route to Deviln's Hollow has always been considered to be the long way around via Clearwater, though given the recent events that is likely no longer the case. Ka'lion himself has spent a brief amount of time in the valleys of the lizardmen, one of the more direct paths, but recalls the steep hillsides and the dangers of the rough fellbeasts - to say nothing of the legion of the dead!
The paths to the east of the lizard valley are long, rough, but comparatively safe. The paths to the west would take you further into the unknown swamps of the fell but are the quickest route in theory.
You'll have to buy a map: 2sp will get you a map of local roads, 2gp will get you more detail, and for additional coin you can have it fire and/or water proofed. There are no horses here, just as there were no horses when you were here two days ago. The room at the tavern is free.
Which items do you wish to sell specifically and how to you want to go about selling them?

"Let's talk to the mage Vassily. I'll trade the hat of disguise to get the information we need and he can tell us what the hat would cost in coin so we can be reimbused afterwards. Then we can try to buy it back after we get what the devices are worth afterward. We will ask Osbern to be in attendance with us so he can't cheat us after the fact. if we need to." said Ka’lion

With a firm plan in mind the pair set out from the inn back towards the keep. As they pass through the still derelict buildings a clear, strong voice hails them from behind and they turn to find the mercenary Jellico leaning against the wall of a building. Speaking with an accent that suggests a northern birth, "rumour has it that you are looking to sell magical weapons. Rumour has it that the scythe carried by the Ibixian leader hasn't been seen since his death". He nods towards the large scythe-shaped wrapped up object carried by George, "rumour has it..."
He reaches for a pouch at his belt that jingles with the sound of coin, "three thousand in gold and gems. A lords ransom, and more than any here would pay."

"We already have a buyer. If they change their mind. We can talk but it would cast you a great deal more then that." adds Ka'lion, we stop by the treasurer on the way to ask him to be in attendence for the apprasal and information.

"Suit yourselves, but I might not always be in such a generous mood. You'll find me in the Stately Maiden tavern if your buyer doesn't pan out"
After collecting Osbern the pair make their way to Vassily, who seems a little colder and more business-like than before but accepts the hat as security against the cost of identifying the scythe. "This is a weapon of great power but to call on it takes no simple ritual or word, only the sacrifice of the one who wields it", he looks towards Osbern, "if you are to buy this weapon do so only to seal it away."
He does not re-examine the hammer in detail, only checking to ensure it is the same, and looks towards Ka'lion, "I see you have not been successful in mastering this weapon, perhaps only a cleric of Pelor might." He turns it in his hands, "steel inlaid with gold and silver, two, perhaps three thousand"
Osbern interrupts, "two or three?", to which Vassily replies, "given the circumstances I would not refuse a magical weapon, even one of unknown providence. Gold is of no value to the dead."
Osbern seems displeased by Vassily's assessment but does not disagree, "three then for the hammer, and one for the scythe. If gold is not to your taste then perhaps the hide of a dragon."
(do you wish to show any of the other weapons or items, or seek to barter first with these two items?)
