I've been playing someone with poor charisma skills. A+6 in diplomacy should help his rolls a bit and give him a better result in some encounters. What he's learned is what not to do mostly. Now he needs to learn what to do to get the things he wants. That's done best by finding someone that can set a better exsacple for him to follow. Just keep in mind he is nutral aligned
As far as the shapeshifter - you information is correct - he does need 10 ranks. I was mistaken. But otherwise he's ready. Next level his mask druid studies should improve improving his combat skills as will.
Does Scars abilities improve?

Scars abilities do not improve until Ka'lion reaches level 3 in his druid level, or takes a feat to combine his two druid class levels for some purposes.
Just waiting on Vadania/Garrot's level up at the moment. I could re-merge the two groups but the other team were about to meet up again with Altar and Eldon, i'd have to change that slightly and trigger off an even in the fell to redirect them given Ka'lion's relations with the pair.
Your preferences? The portal can take you back to Vadania/Garrot, or somewhere else on this world, or off to an entirely different kind of adventure.

I think it's better for everyone if the party remerges, you have less work, Ka'lion’s not as paranoid and Vadania/Garrot know he can be trusted. I think he can work out his problems with Altar as long as Altar respects his personal space.
Eldon and him would need to give each other space but he'll discard all request by the priest regardless of what they are. He’ll never help the priest again. On the plus side the compain moves forward.

For now then - Elika explains what has happened in the lands to the newcomer, an elf who states that your kind (humans) call them Gabriel as they lack the finesse to correctly pronounce the elf's true name.
The picture in the room above changes every hour on the hour, though seems to follow no clear pattern. Sometimes it is simply black, other times a swirling grey. Always the painting is stylised and Ka'lion has yet to recognise any particular location, some seem quite outlandish and alien.

The pictures do not move, save to change from one location to another, and none shows signs of life - though some are incredible, wonderous, or terrifying.
Elika walks in from time to time, and as Ka'lion sits studying a painting of a vast crooked lighting-struck tree in a forest she comments, "I know that tree, legend has it that it was once the home of an ancient and powerful dryad from long before the fell close in on these lands. It is found to the east near the monastery of the flame"

"Let's take a look. If we can get back before the painting changes again. We will know that it's a two way portal. If we can't it's going to be a long hike back. Come Scar." say's Ka'lion getting up and walking to the painting.

As Ka'lion nears the painting there is a low hum and the room glows, in moments so brightly he cannot see and then the light fades away again and he stands before the tree that was shown in the painting. Elika and Scar are with him, as is everything else in the room.

Ka'lion goes up the to old tree and gives it a deep huge, "I'm not the first choice, or the second or even the third choice to protect the world. But I'm here. I wish you where to." say's Ka'lion then he looks over at Elika, "Let's take a look around. It's possible the great dryad was attacked because of something she had. I don't know if it will help us fight the undead or the demons but it wont hurt to look."

Ka'lion can tell this all happened many thousands of years ago, though he is surprised the petrified tree still stands.
People and animals have been back and forth through this area countless times, he even finds a small stone shrine to gaia.

"When either of us learns or can hire casters of stone to flesh and regeneration spells. Perhaps the dryad can be saved. It looks to me like she was preserved to try to save her life. And now we know what it's going to take to save her.” said Ka'lion "This is the kind of job I like. You can make a difference and no one gets killed."

Elika looks at the tree, "I think this was just the passage of time Ka'lion"
Looking around, "how long until the painting was due to change again? The elf was on watch at the base of the tower."

"Well then lets head back. We have learned part of what we wanted to learn." said Ka'lion, "Scar come."

Ka'lion recognises a few of the landmarks around here, they are several days east-south-east of Clearwater and not far from the camp that had been encircled by goblins, where they had left Aelos.

Ka'lion still needs to get his horses and he can't take them underground. The barbarians are gone so the recuire mission was a waste of time. It's time for him to get his horses and to rejoin the party. He learned little useful other then trying to help others is a waste of his time.

He is less than an hours walk from where Vadania and Garrot were headed, and days away from his horses - while he could return to Clearwater first it's an odd choice of routes.
