Rain drizzles down, slowly clearing after the nights rain as the sun rises over the horizon.
To the south along the main road lays the lands of Merebas, to the north west the fell and the barbarian lands.
There are two obvious routes to Delvins Hollow - the largest of the barbarian settlements. The first is directly through the hills around Burr Town and along the edge of the deeper fell, past the sunken valley and likely following in the footsteps of the Ibixian. The second is north towards Clearwater and then west tracing the path of the barbarians attack.

Ka'lion takes the north west route, and at dawn they keep going but walking to give Runnaway some rest and looking for a place to set up camp.

Ka'lion can choose to cross or avoid Burr Town on his route, and by nightfall will be deep within the mountains to the west - as far as Melwyn's home and the flooded mine if desired.
Beyond there the land gives way to rocky hills and scattered brush before opening out into the lower marshlands of the fell and the lands of the lizard men. The hills themselves may be of some interest though as the rocky cliffs and valleys at their heart were once home to many factions.
Beyond the marshland the fell opens up and Ka'lion knows nothing about what awaits him, only the rough direction of the barbarian lands. Travel will not be quick nor easy across the broken and rolling ground, especially as his companion is both heavily armoured and lacks any skill riding animals.

Looks like a good place to start my training. Ka'lion if you dont mind i needed to learn riding a long time ago. I was hoping in doing with down time but we have not got much of any. I dont wish to slow you down. I dont why the others starting to act so irrationally. "I'd rather hire a girl if I wanted to see a girls panties. Those ladies are valentaring to show their panties. As it is in the morning cast locate object incase I misplaced it on me. If I did, I owe all of them an apology. But I don't think that's going to be the case. So we are out of the demon fighting business. I intend to help the barbarians and to check up on the monastery I lived at but afterward we might as will get rich. I have a few ideas we can trade the hammer, the scythe and amulet in bur town. We might as will make it easy for the good guys to buy it. We might even be able to trade one of them for that intelligent golem you found. How are your haggling skills mine stink."said Ka'lion. "I think taking a day in town may be a good idea."

" Well mine are not as good as you would think see its odd for a shop that does a barrder system but its how i ran my shop. If i needed things i made a list and people would trade me for equal value and leave requests. I then took them used locate object when i could to help track item in question for them. I did it by repreputation mostly."
( as i said its odd a skill i knew i put ranks in it are not there. Its does not fallow why he has none.)

I agree it is odd. In any case in Bur town we find out if anyone wants to trade for the hammer and amulet and shythe when we inquire with the castle we will point out they are artifacts. In burtown people are looking for weapons - But we need a horse for you and high end light armor for both of us. If this really is a town of theives then we should not be a primary target.

" Trading artifacts we will need a hefty price, also some will want us demonstrate the power in each, never agree to that cause if you dont meet standards your rep lowers. Watching u these weeks, i see you alread have a nack for it. What comes next is finding middle ground with price is some times hard but best to get a deal done. If you get less then half they are conning you. If you ask for much more then worth they call you a cheat. Its hard work you know. Lets pratice before we sell them."

"All right let's practice. I have a weapon that killed most of the Ibaxian. Are you intrested in trading or buying it? It was taken from the ibaxians cheif. He almost killed all of my party it with it. It may be one of the most powerful weapons I've ever seen. I want high end bracers of defence - two sets. Or can you make a better offer?" asks Ka'lion, "It's obviously an artifact of great power. I'm taking bids and I'll sell it to the best offer."

The pair start back towards Burr Town, and should reach it a little after mid day. They consider what they know of the artefacts they carry.
The hammer bears the symbol of Pelor and glows and times, though what that signifies Ka'lion has yet to discover. He knows a name from a vision, or was it a delusion? Jaster, the hero, the betrayer.
The stone axe head carries symbols of animals that change over time, currently it shows a pack of jackals feasting on one of their own. Such a primitive weapon would have little value beyond whatever magic could be demonstrated of it and the weapon had been known to give Ka'lion visions, though they had faded of late.
The amulet is a solid silver holy symbol of a shining sun. On closer inspection it seems a little different to when Ka'lion last saw it and he wonders if it had some form of connection to the order of the silver flame. In any event selling the holy symbol of the orders of good carried it's own problems as there would be questions as to how he came into possession of such a thing, and the brazen selling of relics taken without permission from a church or temple was not something many reputable individuals would consider. To a less reputable individual you might sell it for it's weight in silver, or perhaps even it's weight in gold. (I don't know what Ka'lion knows of Aelos's last instructions regarding the symbol when he gave it to Vadania)
Finally the scythe, George knows there was a significant reward for a weapon of it's description in Merebas to the south but wonders who else would buy such a grim weapon.
As both Ka'lion and George had sought to trade in Burr Town before they know that the towns wealth and stock of magical items was limited, though the bounty hunter that offered his services a few days back might have coin. When they had asked about magical items they had been directed to Melwyn. The sage of Burr Town did still have a significant stock of scrolls - though neither Ka'lion nor George could cast arcane magics - and items previously on offer would still be there including the lightning trident and, presumably for the right price, other magical cloaks.
(George has already cast locate object - the scarab was neither in the possession of Ka'lion nor any of the others in the inn)

" shearly this weapon you say is not worth two sets of highly crafted magical bracers, when we only have on conjecture that the goatmen chief had it. Not only that but sounds as if he turned on his own men because of it, if its cursed there is now possible risk making it harder for me to want to buy or resell. Its quite possible we merchants will all refuse the price you ask for if that is true. Ill point out it is illegal to knowing sell cursed objects. My counter offer to you both is : one set after proff its not cursed. Deal?"

Ka'lion said nothing about the ibaxian killing his own men and he wouldn't . We have no proof of that being the case. It just seemed that way to us. It's perfectly possable the Ibaxin cheif was possed - not the weapon at all.

" you are quite positive that it was not using the weapon itself that made him do so? Interesting well that being the case it could be still worth my effort. I cant part with two finely crafted objects for one. So ill give you the best deal i can. As it stands i dont know its true power, if i knew if it was magical it would help in the deal. Do you mind if i inspect it?"
After there mock selling exercises
" ka'lion do keep in mind inspection is common in our work. Its to tell a real from a fake. Your price for two is only a bit steep not much so given what it can do. That kind of thing only works if your selling it to a guild most times. For merchants need resell value to give two puts them at risk a bit much, that most will not do so. If it were me i would not sell two for a thing of unknown. Anyway its getting cold and we should get to town out of the rain."

Ka'lion and Garrot continue to dream about wealth and powerful magical items, but cannot avoid the simple truth that the merchants within Burr Town are unlikely to have items of the type they desire, unless held by private individuals who had neither fled nor sought to fight in the siege. The towns of the fell had always been scratching out a living, the real wealth lay in the empires of Merebas and Woldegard to the south and north. There were however stories of bandit kings, secretive cults, and reclusive sorcerers who had made their homes amongst the endless miles of cliffs and mountains that Burr Town sat at the foot of, extending all the way into the fell along the boarder with Merebas. Melwyn and the old guard were only the barest tip of the secrets the mountains held, or at least were rumoured to hold. I found this site by using the rederect info you posted GM - I've been unable to find it by tittle" The board is entitled "better to be forgiven than killed in your sleep" and is located in the storm over the steadlands category between the old board and the out of game discussion board. All George/Ka'lion threads will be placed into this board to keep the threads for the two games distinct.kmansadventures.proboards.com/board/191/forgiven-sleep

The rain has stopped by the time Ka'lion and George reach Burr Town, this time entering the town itself. The guards are surprised to see you, asking about your missing companions. One notes that Eldon and Altar had already left along the north road.
The inhabitants here have begun to move back out into the town, Vassily remains in the central building while Imperius has returned to the keep. Ka'lion and George only know of two other people here with wealth - Lady Alara and the mercenary. Much of the towns population had fled the siege and Lynette implied that Melwyn was the most powerful spellcaster that remained in the area.

"We will get what we can for them from Lady Alara. I'm tired of carrying them and although we left on poor terms with the priest she at least should be able to help us enough to improve our chances. She should also feel like she's in our debt so should not take to great of advantage of our poor trade skills.
We need coin, lighter and better armor - bracers or gloves of dexterity are best for our needs but other devices may work for us to. We don't need another cloak but we do need a horse for you and a good map of the areas.
In truth in an ideal world I'd want bracers of defense - the good kind, gloves of dexterity - the good kind, an ring of protection - good kind, an amulet of natural armor and a backpack of holding. But this is not an ideal world. I'll settle for getting back to a more manageable weight load from gear. After words we'll look for additional arrows on our way out of town. We will find a good camp on the way. Sound okay to you?" asked Ka'lion

""The problem with the mercenary is I'm pretty sure he' evil and greedy as hell. He's not the kind of person I want to leave such dangerous toys with. I met him when I first road out of town. He was carry a saddle and wanted to buy my horse. He struck me a mean and cruel man." said Ka'lion
