Garrot nods. He assumes that the Goblins will move toward the large device, and so he will place himself in the shadows so he can attack the goblins from the rear or flank as they approach the device.

The group hide and wait though the construct itself is not hidden. Soon enough two goblins, one with a torch, move through the brush towards them muttering something to each other and stop with startled looks on their faces when confronted by the curious metal device.
They appear to be unaware of the group's presence.

Vadania calls out, "Attack!" as she lets fly an arrow at the lead goblin. The command was for Ylva, who charged the se goblin. But it applied equally well to her teammates, who would hopefully engage the other goblin.
OOC: Sorry for the delay, but caring for a sick kitty is leaving little time for anything else. So I keep missing on things like eating, sleeping, and posting online. Rather than hold up the game any longer, I'm posting this from my phone while sitting with the cat. I'll try sending die rolls if I get a chance later.

Ylva quickly pulls down her target but nearby the second goblin, wounded but alive throws up it's arms and cries out in panic as it looks for a path of retreat - this close to the road it is likely that it's companions have heard either it or Vadania's own call to attack.
(Garrot's action?)

Garrot quickly finishes off the second goblin but fears that those on the road may have heard Vadania or the golbins cry.

Garrot says hurriedly to Vadania "there are at least six more on the road nearby. They may be coming if they heard the noise!"
He then runs over to the device and gets on top of it. He thinks that if the other Goblins attack, he might be able to scare them off with the device if need be.

Vadania realizes what Garrot is going to try and thinks it's well worth trying with just a few goblins. She calls out, "Lynette, join Garrot in the mechanism, lets see how good it is at scaring Goblins." Then she and Ylva again hide to the side of the path, ready to provide support, but mostly waiting to see if the mechanism is as good dealing with goblins as she hopes.

Garrot and Lynette hop into the construct and wait, peering through the front porthole while Vadania hides nearby.
A minute or so later slight movement and a growl from Ylva indicate the goblins have arrived, cowering in the bushes able to see their dead companions but unable to determine how they died. After another pause a single goblin creeps out from the undergrowth towards the closest body, watching the nearby construct carefully.

Garrot will wait until the Goblin stops moving, at which point he will start moving the device towards the goblin. He whispers to Lynette "when I start moving, start swinging the claws. You might hit it, but at least we will scare it and the others away". He wishes there were a way to make sounds too. Even though the top is closed, he decides he will still yell out growling sounds (he has no idea what a creature like this sounds like) in hopes it adds to the overall impact. He thinks the sound "ARRRHHHHHHOOOOOOOO" would be appropriate. He also makes sure to put his goggles on.

The goblin lets out a shrill cry of panic as the construct starts moving, dropping it's crude spear and running into the dark joined by it's equally disturbed companions. Garrot doubts that they will return to disturb the party this night.
As the group settles back down to rest Vadania notes that quite a severe storm has formed in the vicinity of Burr Town. Lynette notices the druids gaze and comments, "it must be the ceremony of the tempest, Lady Alara's coronation. My parents told me about the last one, it's rumoured that each heir to the stormwalker throne must confront the spirit of the elemental that the first wrested his power from."
She picks up a fallen leaf and holds it in her hand, and frost forms over the surface as the leaf slowly freezes, "there is a lot of old magic in the fell, in the blood of those who live here. Stormwalker is said to have found some part of it's source and bound it to his will but it was so long ago that nobody really knows for sure. Maybe the eldar druids, if there are such a thing."
Even Vadania knew little of the Eldars, mysterious ageless individuals who had not emerged from their conclave in the deepest fell in her memory or the memory of her mentor.

Lynette shrugs, "it's hereditary, like those with dragon in their blood. I was always taught the elves have their own kinds of magic to talk with the trees and stuff like that, but the only other elves i've met came from Merebas and they never seemed much interested in the trees."

Vadania responded, "I don't know what is in my blood. My parents were wild elves, but I was born with eyes and hair of a high elf. I can do stuff like talking to trees, but I learned that from the human that took me in after my parents were killed."

The group settle in for the rest of the night, and while the growing thunderstorm does not give them an easy nights rest it does keep any other nearby creatures under shelter too.
The weather is relatively clear in the morning as the group prepare to continue their journey.

As they break camp (after spells are refreshed), Vadania comments "Hopefully large numbers of goblins will react to your device like those last night did."
