((Was the dragonborn in armor, or plainclothes?)) The dragonborn was wearing plain cloths, pants and a tunic. Stravanya and Zem noticed that he was wearing a chain shirt under the tunic.

( for encounter ideas : big monster killing goblins in middle of the night or big monster that has gotten agressive and is " expanding " its area goblins are getting eaten. anything with big monsters we can fight would be nice change from fighting huminoid things.) Good suggestions. One big monster coming up (as soon as I get a chance).

OOC: what are the goblin & shifter talking about? The goblin and shifter are discussing whether milk is better warm or cold. The shifter thinks milk is better warm, while the goblin is sure that it is better cold. As I said, not a very deep discussion

Barbatos scanned the buildings and ruins as they walked, looking for anything that might once have been constructed with magic rather than common engineering. The books gave little indication as to why their author frequented this place but did mention a few landmarks - a large well, a garden of falling water, an open theatre of arched stone and the market on the path that he walked to get there. Finding any one would narrow down their search to a smaller part of the city. "Keep your eyes open for the ruins of a theatre building, circular with arched walls" said Barbatos. Best not to waste time lest whatever invitation they had here turned sour. The buildings are so heavily patched that it's impossible to tell how they were originally constructed. He does find a large well that might be the same well, though it doesn't match the description. Barbatos doesn't see anything matching the other land marks, but those might be in the rubble outside the current city walls. After all Sarnath had once been a good size city, the part inherited and maintained by the goblins is more along the lines of a small town. Large for this area, nearly as large as Moonhaven (though more compact), but still it would be only a small town in more civilized areas.

The group finds the inn, with an attached stable area. The stables are kept locked, with access for customers only. After securing rooms for the group and space in the stable for their cart and horse, the group is free to explore. The prices here are high, but not exorbitantly so. The lodgings are actually of reasonable quality, unexpectedly so in a town run by "monsters". Harknail stays with the cart to guard the groups belongings while the group is free to wander the town (or the ruins outside if they want to look for old landmarks).

Barbatos shrugs and suggests heading back down the street where they last saw him walking, perhaps there will be an inn, market, or other public location there. Or perhaps he was simply heading home, but the mage assumed his companion had some reason for wanting to find him.

From his pervious encounters with dragonborn they know how to fight, making an alli in town would also be handy.
" Ok lets start there then, and yes they may have left but im hoping they may have stayed."
( what skill rolls are needed to find the dragonborn?)

It's a small town, it proves not to be difficult to find the dragonborn. He is currently haggling with a fruit merchant.

Zem remembers passing a cart selling the same merchandise, but the group that just walked by without examining the quality of the merchandise or inquiring about the price. So Zem cannot say if it was in any way better than what the dragonborn was currently haggling for.
Once you start interacting with the dragonborn you will be able to get an insight roll

"excuse me, i could not help but notice that the two of you are having a slight dissagreement . Over the price perhaps? You see i passed a cart a few blocks back with same fruits as your looking for. I could not tell if they were better nor the going rate but i would hate to see a goblin marking the price up just cause your not from here. Yet we all need to eat. so is there a way we could find a price thats fitting for both sides?"

"Maybe I should check this out," said the dragonborn. With the prospect of losing a sale, the merchant becomes a bit more generous in negotiation. He and the dragonborn soon come to a agreement and the sale is made.
Turning to the newcomers, the dragonborn says, "Thanks." He gives the group a quick look over (Harknail is not there). He doesn't show much reaction to the elf or the shifter, is taken aback by the crystalline shardmind, but it is the human that elicited a comment, "I didn't think there were any humans left after the war."

OOC: sorry Stravanya hasn't shown much leadership since we entered Sarnath. I'm pretty confused about this whole players helping make up the storyline thing. It's a great thing! I just noticed that I'm not nearly as good at it as You other guys so I'll just study them for a while before I try to contribute myself.

((I would be contributing more to the story, but I've been so busy that I can't keep track of what's going on when I do get a down moment to check this out. I also keep forgetting that this is going on, again, since I've been so busy. I'll try to start checking in and contributing every night, though, from now on. =D ))
Bennegar sizes up the dragonborn, taking in every detail he can, from the clothes he wore to his general demeanor. He seemed like a friendly person, but Bennegar had been burned too many times in the past to let any form of weakness show. He remained silent whilst the dragonborn conversed with the rest of the party, taking in their surroundings and looking for any sign of a library or guild hall. Lizzy was restless to get moving toward any kind of repository of knowledge, and it was starting to wear on her patience. He comes up alongside Stravanya and quietly mutters, "I shall meet up with the group later. I'm going to try finding someplace to research magicks." Without awaiting a response, he walks down the street, away from the group.
((Bennegar is looking for anyplace that might be able to help him with arcane transmutation, since Lizzy is kinda sick of being a spear. They both want her to revert to being humanoid, though they are very much aware that this might be impossible. Any libraries, mages' guilds, or whatnot would be helpful, I imagine.))

" Not to interject yet im a bit confused. See I'm not form this part of the world im still getting use to it. So you must forgive me but what war do you speak of? If what you say is true then many humans died. It must have beena powerfull enemy to have killed so many good soldiers. I feel i should say a quick prayer tho out of respect of the dead."
" My the souls of the Brave hero's that fought and for the ones who have fallen. My the fallen make their way to thier god's. My thier loved ones take comfert that they gave what they did so that they could live longer and the possiblity of longer lives. "

The dragonborn answers, "The ware between the Dragonborn Empire of Arkhosia and the infernal empire of tieflings, Bael Turath."
This war happened hundreds of years ago, but is the most recent war in this land. Barbatos is well aware of it, since he is carrying a piece of the Empire of Arkhosia in his backpack. Specifically he's carrying a stone from the flying citadel Ustraternes.
