Hurick: "25 feet ahead is fine, Lincoln." "Aegis, do you know the difference between a corporal and a captain?" "Lt Leroy Jenkins. He was a Paladin and thought he was going to get himself a whole lot of glory. He broke formation, charged into a dungeon, and alerted the enemy to his units presence. They were slaughtered. The sole survivor said Jenkins last words were 'At least I'm not chicken.' But we are not here for personal glory. We are here to do a job. Our honor is in seeing it done. In the end, Jenkins name is only remembered as a cautionary tale, not as a hero." Aegis raised an eyebrow as Hurick explained, shrugging, " I understand the Jenkins thing now. I can guarantee that I won't ever charge in like an idiot and get everyone slaughtered. I'm kind of a little too fragile for that sort of thing, wouldn't you say?" he said, staying in formation, " and I don't really know the difference in military ranks. Back on the ship I worked on, there were only four ranks: Captain, the Officers, the Swabees, and the Cabin Boys. I was technically an officer, but only due to my magic. I was a Swabee before that."

Elir stiffels his laughter,
" Sorry, what is funny to me is I was thinking exactly same thing. On the jankins thing that is, he was a dipshit Sir.
I don't think anyone of us has that low of inteligence that would do something that unbright. yet i think we should think about the task at hand."

Unfortunately, between work and face-to-face games tonight, it might be tomorrow night before I have the time to finish setting up for the next room. Fortunately, most of the work (i.e. making the map) has already been done. I just need to add the party, the monsters, and lighting effects.

Kamon-DO says with frustration. Let's push on instead of babbling on about some solider who just wanted to fight the good fight but knew not how to properly do so.

Lincoln starts heading down the corridor. "Ahhh, Jenkins. That story never gets old," he whispers under his breath, keeping an eye out as the party begins to move forward...
Sounds good harknail!

The group makes their way down the stairway, with Lincoln leading the rest be enough distance that he wasn't brightly lit, but not so far that there wasn't light before him. It was hard to see in the dim shadowily light, but Lincoln didn't not spot any traps on the descent. After descending about 60' the stairway opens up into a room. Dominating the room ahead is a long trench filled with some kind of liquid. Beyond the trench, a small, reptilian humanoid stands in a shadowy chamber, gaping at you. It had been preoccupied working on something and had not noticed the approaching light until it shone on it. It jumps to it's feet, crying out in alarm, " volaan! volaan!" as it readies it's sling. Kamon-DO can recognize this as a cry of "Intruders!" in draconic. The rest might not know exactly what's being said, but it's pretty obviously a warning to others. Map (updates as positions change) Yellow circles are the party, the red circle is the kobold. The yellow tinting shows what's lit by the light spell, the circle is brightly lit, the wedge is dimly lit (disadvantage on perception and attack rolls). Anything else is darkness and your characters can't see it yet. It's too much work to actually black it out until you can.

Time for initiative rolls. Tag all. Sorry, how do I roll? As someone else mentioned there is a dice roller built into the reply (but not the quick reply). There are actually two dice rollers, the one the use is the far right icon which is the previewable dice roller. It starts with a d6 (1-6), change that to 1-20 for a d20 roll. To see you die roll before you post, you can click the preview button at the bottom of the reply box. That lets you post things like: Init: JdsISR3Hp_1-20+4=231-20

Kamon-DO alerts the party as to what the creature said. OOC having trouble getting the color change to green for my OOC moments sorry. To access green text select the text you want to turn green, then click on the color wheel icon (the far left icon). This usually comes up selecting blue. Click on any shade of green in the color stripe, then click OK. That adds the codes to turn your text green.
The next icon over is also handy, the Bold B is used for quoted text so that what your character says stands out from the description of what your character is doing.
None of these options are available in the quick reply box at the bottom of the thread, you need to click the reply button to get the full editor.
If you're posting on a cell phone, you'll need to scroll to the bottom and click the "Desktop" button. That switching you to the desktop computer view with the full reply editor. You'll have to do a lot of sideways scrolling, but that lets you access the dice rollers and text modifiers.
