"I think Scar will hunt before he returns. Running hungry work. But if you want to fight ghosts? Good luck doing so. Just one ghost screwed me up badly and we know there are at least 2 more waiting in the fog and ice. We'd never see them coming. Now I'm going to restart the fire I'm freezing." Ka'lion set his light book next to him to read when he's done. "Besides I'm in the mood for a good demon story. Nothings better for taking your mind off ghosts."

"I have to agree with Ka'lion on this one," says Brennen. "Scar knows how to find us, but more importantly, we need warmth and shelter or we're going to get frostbite. We can search for him in the morning, when the two of you have had time to prepare spells to protect us from the cold. In the meantime, are any other ghosts still here?"
Brennen will let Orns or Vadania illuminate another ghost before he takes his turn. If they do, he'll fire an Eldritch Blast at tJ2GRC53p_1-20+5 to hit for p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6(+2 if evil) damage. Otherwise, he can't see them, so he'll ready an action to teleport away if he's targeted by an attack.1-201-61-61-6

Ka'lion backs away cautiously towards the building and fire while keeping the party in sight, the smoke mostly gone now. He keeps his horse close by.
Vadania feels that Scar would have little hope alone against the ghosts, his only chance being that he either outruns them or that the ghosts remain focused on the rest of the group.

Vadania says, "One of the ghost, the one that's easy to see, went after Scar. And if the ghost catch Scar, he doesn't have a chance since Scar doesn't have any Magic. This other Ghost is hanging around our shelter, so if you stay here, be prepared to fight a ghost."
OOC: Seems like Vadania is more concerned about Scar than Ka'lion is. I think Ka'lion sees Scar as a convent tool soon to be replaced, but Vadania sees him as a member of the party, and she's not going to abandon a party member just because they got hit by a magic panic.
Also, is the cold fading at all now that the cold ghost is gone?

Also, is the cold fading at all now that the cold ghost is gone? The magical cold around the building appears to have dissipated as Ka'lion approaches, but the natural cold of the snow and freezing conditions are still very much there.

Ka'lion sees the animals as loaned assistance. Sent by the nature spirits to help druids and rangers to protect nature. He has never seen them as pets or party members just dependable company. He believes the reason we can change companions is so the rangers and druids don't disrupt the animals mating habits and so they can adapt to where ever they are. Scar is dependable company but he deserves to have a animals freedom and Ka'lion knows it. As far as Ka'lions health he currently has a 8 str and 10 dex - so until he has fully recovered he's going avoid all types of combat if he can. That means with his bow he cant use it - he's not strong enough and his long green sword with cold damage is largely useless fighting ghost to.

Unless Vadania wishes to set out after Scar the group rallies at the building, the ghosts seemingly either driven away or off in pursuit of Scar.
The fire is easy enough to restart if desired and Ka'lion soon recovers from the smoke. The snowfall also returns to its previous level providing a little more visibility.
Brennen is right about the need for warmth and shelter but the question is does the group hold at the building in the knowledge that the ghosts may return, or seek out another location with no guarantee of success in the dark and frozen night.

The fire restarts easily enough, and after a few tense minutes surveying the area Vadania is confident that the ghosts are gone for now. She is less pleased to hear Ka'lions description of the one that attacked him as she recalls stories of her childhood, an old and powerful fey being said to have been trapped somewhere deep within the Fell that had once tried to spread its influence throughout the world through minions of ice and an eternal winter.
It is a difficult night huddled around the fire, watching for ghosts. They do not return however, and as the sun begins to rise Ka'lion and Vadania prepare their magic for the day ahead and the skeletal horde they left in the valley to the north.

Has Ka'lion recovered from the draining effects of last night? If not, Vadania will need to prepare some healing spells.
Vadania comments, "Well I think that's the last we've seen of Scar. But I couldn't save both Scar and Ka'lion."

No sign of Scar. He might be too far away, trapped or lost, frozen, injured, or dead. His tracks have long since been covered with hours of snowfall.
Ka'lion however has suffered no lasting effects from his encounter, he was short of breath for a few moments in the smoke but otherwise shrugged off the magic.

Actually entering the lair might be something done tomorrow since she doesn't have any spell slots left to actually fight the skeletons. Well clear of the snow and the ibixian threat the group looks for shelter as the sun falls low in the sky. Spotting a glint of water in the rocks above they find a narrow stream and an unexpected discovery - the ruins of an old village not marked on the map, stone buildings, long abandoned. While used by animals in the past there are none here now and the location is well hidden from sight. With the valley less than a day away the group make final preparations for their descent. GM said we were one day away when we made camp. Thought that might be 1 day away from the wrong side of the valley, in which case Vadania will have traveling spells instead.
