Brennen follows Vadania outside to get out of the smoke. "Incorporeal creatures are *cough* vulnerable to *cough* force effects," coughs Brennen as he hustles into the clean air. "Faerie Fire can make them visible, Magic Missile can hit them."
Assuming he still doesn't see any enemies, he'll take another total defense.

The ghosts remain well hidden from Brennen in the snow. He knows that the power of such things are highly variable but that their malevolence and cunning can be great - forcing the group from shelter into the freezing night may be the extent of their attack, or perhaps they are toying with the group. Either way the cold will sap the partys strength as surely as any ghosts touch.

Ka'lion pulls the blanket off his horse - it should be wet and throws part of it over the small fire. He's trying to smother the pyrotecnics if he can.

Ka'lion has no difficulty in finding the fire, but as he covers it with the blanket the area around him takes on an even more severe chill (9 damage to Ka'lion, 7 to the horse, and 4 to Scar). The smoke outside the house clears enough to breath more freely though it will take Ka'lion a few moments to regain his strength, and the thick - and likely magical - snowcloud still blocks vision save for the glow of Vadania's shard some 20 feet away.
Dandelion (the horse) pulls away from the cold though Scar stays close to Ka'lion for now. Beyond the clearing smoke Vadania is joined by Brennen, Orns, and Ylva and is able to take another shot at a fleeing ghost with her lightning though she cannot be sure of the effect through the snow. Brennen assures her that ghosts have no innate protection against such magic beyond their incorporal forms but may have inhereted something of their former selves.
About to call out to Ka'lion, Vadania's shout is obscured by an ear-splitting shriek from all sides and the ghosts begin their attack in earnest (Will save DC 15 vs panic - mind effecting magic)
Ka'lion himself turns attempting to find his friends in the snow when an ethereal form leaps into view directly infront of him, a humanoid figure wearing what appears to be a ghostly robe of tiny ice shards and an oddly designed mask of purest white. Their gaze freezes Ka'lion to the spot, almost literally in the icy cold (two DC15 fort saves for Ka'lion - Horrific Appearance and Corrupting Gaze. Failing either will not interfer with his next turn, just inflict stat and hp damage)
[Tag all] Vadania can point out the position of one ghost nearby and the last visible position of a second, while the sound of the third seems to be coming from the location of the building itself.

Brennen fires into the snow, but with not visible target save for the general direction Vadania is pointing in his shot goes wide - at least he assumes so. Orns moves to assist, holding up his skull lantern in the direction of Brennens shot he sends out swirling motes of flame that catch one of the ghosts, causing it to glow dimly but visibly through the snow.
Ka'lion on the other hand has something he can see and get to grips with, even as it's magic tries to push him away (thats a hit, roll damage if you pass your will save)

Vadania will move the group towards where Ka'lion went. Since he went off separately, he'll vulnerable to being picked off. But she'll keep the group together as they move so they can help defend each other. She'll also send a lighting bolt at the now very visible ghost, or if it's in sight after the group moves, the thing Ka'lion is fighting. Either way she'll boost the damage using her cloak.
OOC: Hold action till the entire group can move as a group. Move with group towards Ka'lion. Call Lightning on best available target at that point.

Ka'lion's player's computer is now having problems with javascript used to send replies using the full reply dialog. When he tries to post his browser just gets busy and doesn't ever finish the post (it is an old browser on an old computer). I've shown him how to use the quick reply and Invisible Castle as an alternate dice roller. But he no longer has the option to make OOC text green or speech bold.

Ka'lion rolled 18 damage and 25 to hit. I don't think I can do better then that. ( Harknail's right about my computer the only way I can play is to close javascript so I can post in quick reply and use ice castle to roll for all rolls I need to make. Then I need to open javacript to play risk or chess or I can't see the boards. It's a pain in the butt.) Ka'lion will 1d20+4=23Scar will 1d20+2=10light warhorse will 1d20+2=19

Ka'lion lands a solid hit on the ghost before him (roll damage), but Scar is nowhere to be seen as Vadania and the others approach through the snow.
Nothing in the admin for the board that I can turn off - quite possible the problem has something to do with the site adverts or some other integral part of the proboards setup. Don't know why it would have suddenly started though.
You can put in green manually if you want with [ color="limegreen] and [ /font] (remove the leading space), while bold is [ b] [ /b] Dice are [ dice=1-20] but if you can't preview you won't be able to see them. Can you see the dice that other players post?

Between the force of Ka'lions blow and Vadania's magic the ghost breaks apart, silently disipating into the snow.
The second outlined ghost moves away out of sight following the direction that Scar had fled in while the third remains hidden somewhere, perhaps nearby.
It is a simple enough task to find Scars tracks even in the thick snow - the wolf is the size of small horse after all.

"Scar has a head start and can easily out run a ghost. He's nearly twice as fast as they are, nearly twice as fast the rest of you are, he's faster then I am and he was running at top speed. We couldn't catch him if our lives depended on it. The only two here that can catch him is your companion and you in wolf form. That's it! I have every confadence he can get away and until morning we couldn't see a thing. Between the fog, the snow and the night sky we are more likely to get lost looking for him then we are to find him. In the morning we can search if we need to. I don't think we well need to. Now I am concerned about him. But I had planned to set him free when we got to the lake anyway. This is just the kind of dangers natrual animals face everyday. We need to trust them to do so. Worried or not." said Ka'lion

Vadania comments, "You may be right about Scar being faster than a Ghost, but what about when the panic ends and he starts to return? He'll run right into the ghost then. I'd rather get rid of the ghost if we can first."
