Deciding to get a better idea of what they are dealing with before committing the group move closer - having been here before Vadania has a good idea where they can look over towards the mill buildings without being easy to spot.
From their vantage point the group finds the scene largely unchanged from when they were last here and can see a single ogre milling in the courtyard near the bridge. He seems to be on guard as he wanders around from time to time gazing vacantly along the roads in and out and along the riverbanks. He is armed and armoured, and while crudely the leather and steel is a step up from the equipment carried by most wandering ogres.
Behind him Vadania can see the door to the kitchen has been bashed through along with some of the surrounding stonework, large enough to allow an ogre entry.

"Think it's your choice. Whats it going to be?" says Kalion

Vadania comments, "Hmm, looks more trained than most ogres." Turning to Ka'lion, she asks, "Are you going to go up and try to hire him? We'll back you up if he tries to kill you instead of talking."

Kalion draws his short sword and puts it on his back then he takes his long green cold sword and heads over to the ogre. He doesn't speak giant soothes may be a waste of time, Depolincy +7+roll1uf6N1Xqp_1-20=241-20

Please be more specific - what does Ka'lion say / how is he trying to interact with the ogre as he approaches?
Does he want to shout at the ogre from some way off or sneak in closer first?

A'lions walks to the edge the ogre is guarding. In common he asks the ogre what is he doing here?
I also need to know does the river look like a defendable position he need one? Ka'lion is not running if the ogre calls for reinforcements. In fact for his plain to work they have to show it.
A24 diplomacy should be high enough to at least have a chance to talk with them. that's -1 car +8 skill +17 roll.

The ogre looks confused to be approached by a human and ambles towards the bridge weapon in hand but not raised, speaking in very broken common "you hu man?"
Ka'lion wonders if he is being sized up for a meal, the ogre seems unsure what to make of someone not running away or fighting him.
(the bridge across the river is pretty wide - a good position for a small group to bottleneck a larger group but of little use one on one against an ogre)

"No. I'm not human. I'm the god Ka'lion. I just look human." says Ka'lion, with a devil may care smile At least no one in our party seems to think Ka'lion same.
As fat as the bridge you didn't understand my question. I mean how high is the bridge? How fast and deep is the water. Ka'lion doesn't think ogres swim and he is unsure as towhees going to happen to his sword if he has to jump into the river. Bridges are not always built over fast water. Sometimes its deep water and with a sword that may float if he jumps in. He should be able to act as a raft of sorts. Cold that does a d6 every round its in the water will create a block of ice. N0w under the bridge I think is the most definable location. But it depends on what is under the bridge if it would be. In addition I t9ink the bridge is made of wood. That could also matter. So I need as many details as Ka'lion can see.

Tink decides to punctuate Ka'lion's claim by casting Faerie Fire to make him glow, then casting Dancing Lights to create a swirling halo around him. Why not.

The ogre raises his weapon as Ka'lion begins to glow, perhaps thinking it an attack, but stands his ground befuddled by the whole scene and glances towards the mill building itself as if expecting answers.
The bridge is stone (as it was when Ka'lion was last here) and the water flows strongly enough to run a mill. A fall from the bridge would not harm Ka'lion though he could not climb back onto it from the water.

Tink clearly has not meant the god Ka'lion yet. He's 9 feet tall and built like a mountain of power. But he apresheates the support.
Ka'lion activates his hat of disguise and the god Ka'lion is reborn.

The ogre seems to be expecting more talk, but Ka'lion can wait for the ogre if he wishes ... ?

Vadania will watch carefully, looking not only at the ogre in front of Ka'lion but looking for other ogres that might be about. She's careful not to be looking threatening, but she's ready to draw her bow or cast a spell at a moments notice. Something she expects will be happening before this encounter is over.

(how are the other party members arranged relative to Ka'lion?)

Behind cover, I guess?

I've been assuming that the rest of us are some distance behind Ka'lion, close enough to provide ranged support (or perhaps even melee charge), but not so close to be immediately threatening while Ka'lion is trying to talk. Peaking from behind cover would be good, but if there's no cover being in plain sight is OK as well. I figure somewhere between 30 to 60 feet away from the Ogre and Ka'lion. Of course, if Tink has other ideas, we'll go with those

"We pay equal shares or as close to it as we can. But we are looking for someone like you. If you would try to work with us. I could be looking for you." says Ka'lion
