The second rider is moving south at a considerable pace. If he is, as Brennen suspects, a scout for a larger force then the party must decide if they wish to still be here when he returns, or if they wish to stop him before he gets much further - even the partys longest ranged magic will soon be inadequate.

The arrow strikes the horses flank, though the hit appears superficial as it does not penetrate deeply enough to stick.
(it does hit and injure the horse)

Vadania mis-judges the range and the arrow falls some distance from the horse and its rider.
(both Ka'lion and Vadania can take two more shots from this position if they wish, with the indicated penalties)

Even on the road he would be easy to track should the party fall back and the owls will be able to follow him for some distance before he outdistances them.

The range seemed too far, so Vadania used wild shape to become the fastest animal she's seen, an eagle. She then takes to the air in pursuit. (80' fly vs 60' run)
OOC: I think her dex goes down to match that of an eagle, does she still retain her BAB bonus for her level?

Vadania will climb as she follows, then when she's close enough she'll swoop down with talons stretched out for the attack.
Charge for +2 to hit

Brennen and Tink follow as well. Tink should be able to catch up with her 60 ft. fly speed.

Ylva will also follow, though with a 50' speed, she isn't as fast as a light horse (which has 60' speed).

The soldier is wounded by the attack but stays mounted, trying futilely to strike back with his sword.
Before her dive Vadania thought she saw more riders in the distance but they were still a considerable distance away and would be beyond sight and earshot at ground level for some time yet.
(you can roll several sets of attacks at once - his odds of hitting you in return are slim but it's not impossible)
