I agree perhaps dealing with the owlbear could happen. We know its dangerous and it needs to be stopped, that does not mean attack it head on. I think thats how the rest of the attemps failed.
I thank you for telling us of the failed attemps most would not have.
Has anyone tried to let the druids know? They are more appted at this kind of thing. Yet i know our group can handle it just figured they could be a resource of info if need be.
Since its morning and we have ate i think we can head off now if there are no objections.
Also know there is a different inn we are staying at. I invite you to stay there next time your here.
O and Thank you for comming to us with this. I feel we are in agreement that we are taking the job unless any of you have an objection to the mission?"

Harknail says, "This be the kind of task I be made for."
OOC: The problem is that the last pages were torn from the book, without those all you can do is search the area around Sarnath, as the original author did. The Graythicket forest is one of the places that the author of the book searched. And there are other points explored in that direction. Without the missing pages, you aren't likely to find whatever it was the author was looking for. without an extensive search of a wide area (like what the author was doing). The timeline for the search would be months or longer, not a week. In other words, it would not delay your search to kill the owlbear, since it's on the way to some of the locations you'd need to check out anyway. It's not an either/or choice. It's a which direction do we look in first choice.

OOC: Sorry I forgot. In that case disregard my previous post. I will delete it.

Our first priority should be finding residents that might know more about landmarks from the diary, but if someone is looking for us we might as well know up front what he wants. We should go over there now. You now have Flerx, a local ranger. You're not likely to find better for recognizing local landmarks

" Well looks like we got a long journey, we should restock up on things we will need. Then we should all head out. Once it is done who do we speak to as to inform them the task is done."

Luthan answers, "When you slay the Owlbear, it will mean that the Graythicket elves will be able to find food again. They will know, even if you do not tell them."
