In a wisper to the man. " you mentioned a woman?" He hands the boy a key from his belt and gets to work on lists of food and equipment for the groups journey. Before long it's just George and Ka'lion discussing their stew as their equipment is assembled. Within the hour the cart is ready with food and blankets as Benny leads the pair to the stables, "you are braver men than I to go into the wastes like this. If you are ready to go i'll send the boy for your friend." |

After the party is alone and so we are not over heard Ka'lion lays out his plains.
"Yes. I'm just carrying a full load of cure minor wounds and harm spells. We need to be careful of being druged or led into a trap. We will be traveling at night so I can follow the stars back home. Any guides the innkeeper hires should be considered spies until they show themselves to be otherwise.I don't trust the innkeepers interest in my stuff. So the first day we travel by day and then I'm going to change our direction - so if there is an ambush in waiting. We won't walk into it. I'm not assuming we are going to be having problems but we have been warned about thieves." says Ka'lion

" Its kinda why shamious put his gear and gold in my care today. I was actually going to stay the night but all the same to me. Not yet sir shamious's bath should be another hour or so. He has not had one in a while and well i dont want to ruin his fun in there just yet.
Ka'lion i would pay for one for you but i dont think his kind of bath and the kind you want would be the same.
About the thieves ya i get that this place has them but so does bur and others. I get your use to having few to watch your back but now you do,us. if you dont learn to trust more then just us you will never have kids or a family of your own. Im not saying dont check for knives or poison but dont pat down every single person you meet, i learned a while ago if they are stupid enough to try then the lessions they learn after is much more compelling. when they realize they messed with the wrong persons.
Ka'lion our trips have never surprised me. Tho I never told you this one.
There were a few theives who tried to jack my cart back home. I told them what they took would last them at most a month given they had no clue what my stuff was worth. Yet if they learned the worth did not jack my cart and i gave them proper training they could make shops that were worth far more. They stupidly pick the first because the leader wanted to save face. Now they are all dead, and i gave them a prayer over them anyway. If people want it that bad they act desperate. So if that's what they will try here, i still give them the same option as i did them. Yet if it makes you feel better to question them we should work on how your phrase your questions if you want "

Also he asked as a business man more then likly, you could do well unloading some of your gear you dont need. Tell you what if you let shamious invantory what you have he can get you a total value. That way when someone gives you and offer you can negotiate at a knowledge of what its worth."

I'm not strong enough to do that. I never will be in my current form. What we are headed into is an 500 mile or more hike without water a barren dessert. The oasis we are headed for was created by my ancestors. Walls of ice are daily spells just to fill the small pound we share with the plants and animals. Glancer is the largest block of water known and someone cast it daily for the wildlife. It's an isolated world - The books I'm giving to my peoples school It will teach them languages they don't currently know. So the weight of the books are problem. Well i did not know they were for kids, by all means keep those. If only there were bags of holding and magical Haversacks for sale at a good price. Cause then well your weight issue would not be so bad then. Ya the water and the food portion of our trip worry me a bit. I almost think we need to double the water we have right now but you know it better then i do. I hope my curate water spells last or even work out there.
Yet Reminds me i need to pry before we go.
Give me a list of spells needed where we are going, i have a few ideas of what we might need but its your land not mine.
By time im done shamious should be well finished.

It's a big place - if you (and George) want to see the sights then by all means, let me know if there is anything in particular that you are looking for or if you are just wandering towards the wealthy/poor/market/industrial/etc area of the city and whether you are together or alone - Benny can give you directions if you want to find somewhere or someone specific such as a library, playhouse, or mercenaries. |

Ka'lions staying at the inn until it's time to leave the city. If George wants to explore Ka'lion will say it's a bad idea. There could be slavers in the city. There is theft and it takes many forms. Ka'lion plains to leave in the morning with different spells. Tonight he will plain a safe route out of the city. By talking with people that visit the inn reluctantly.

It is relatively early now - about an hour after dawn as the party rested in the Steadlands before the calling on Berith (waking a mage in the middle of the night felt unwise).
If the party wishes to spend the full day here and leave before light to avoid too much attention then they can pay Benny to have bards or other entertainment, deliveries of goods (though Benny himself has a well stocked wine cellar), and even magical services.

Ka'lion will pass on the entertainment and rarely drinks when he knows he need's to stay alert. Ka'lion will get a room to himself and get some sleep during the day. He'll be on watch tonight.

Rooms here are 2 gold per day and food 5sp but of good quality and includes the cost of the wine. Benny is more than happy to bring out more expensive foodstuffs and wines for cost, untrained hirelings for 2sp for the day, and trained hirelings for 6sp and up. Courtesans vary from 5sp to 10gp and potentially upwards, a skilled and trusted valet can be provided for 2gp, sages and mages cost more but vary depending on the desired service.
The inn is remarkably quiet during the day and one wonders how it stays open. Only two people come in, together, and take a seat near the fire. Man and woman their similar features suggest they may be related, they ignore George and Ka'lion and are quickly brought food and wine.
(Ka'lion can choose to approach them with his previous roll if he wishes - just indicate what he says)
