George steps outside onto a quiet street, the inn marked by nothing more than a starburst sign hung above the door and the nearby stables. He takes a moment to find something more easily visible from a distance, a bell tower with a distinctive shape, before approaching a man tending to Ka'lions new cart to seek guidance.
Does George want to wander aimlessly into the city, ask for a guide, or does he have something he wants to see?

He wants to go to the blacksmith area and he would ask for directions at the inn where he and ka'lion are staying.

George is informed of the direction to the largest concentration of smiths, leatherworkers, and other such crafts. He soon finds that he likely could have found his own way on smell alone - set towards the edge of the city and a fair walk from the inn he finds the workshops and forges he seeks, loud, smelly, and busy.

Going up to some of the blacksmiths
" Excuse me are you interested in taking on an extra had? I know a person who is a blacksmith but does not yet own his on business. I was wondering if he could help out. You wont have to teach him everything for he has a couple years experience already."

( He is also looking at the cost of starting up a blacksmith shop, and seeing if there is any who is willing to sell.)

The blacksmith seems confused by the talking human-like monkey, but states that he would consider anyone who could show skill.
The smith directs George to speak with an official regarding new buildings and while George is made to wait at first the bureaucrat seems more eager to speak after seeing him in person, perhaps due to the obvious value of the equipment he carries.
The total cost of a smithy is 1500 gold coins, though only 500 of that is the cost of constructing the forge itself - the rest is the cost of the building which many be rented rather than bought outright.

" What would rent be per month? Also i heard there are thives around this area. If our business was broken into what asurrence do we have that if because of a brake in that the thives would be found? For I would hate to take a lone be broken into and not able to make the payments because of it. Its a common acurrence from where im from i hope to advoid this. Some of my friends had this happen and lost everything including the shops."

"The city guard will do their duty, but if that is not enough the hire a guard of your own" he replies, "and a good lock, and an apprentice like all the rest."
Rent depends on the the owner but would start at around 5sp per day for the empty building.

" Well i will need to talk it over with my business partners first. I need to be sure they are interested as well. i am going on a trip yet when we get back im sure we can workout the details then. Thank you for time, giving me an idea on the cost, and what rent would be and the like. I'll show myself out ."

George begins to wander back through the city towards the inn, though soon becomes aware that he cannot see the bell tower from here and as he seeks a better vantage point he finds himself a little off the beaten track in an otherwise unpopulated alley.
Hearing the sudden movement of birds and remembering Ka'lions warnings he hops into the shadows wondering if he was being followed. Instead he sees something quite unexpected - a wave of ravens swoops down and coalesces into a black cloaked figure who, seemingly unaware of George hidden nearby, continues on their way into the city.

( I would like to use spot to see any tattoos, marks, symbols that may give a clue to what this person is doing here.)
In his own mind:
Ok so this person in black who obviously knows simi powerfull magic. If i am casting anything they most likly would hear my casting so getting help or magicly away is out for now. And if they have dispell or counterspell i drop like i rock if i fly out, so ya definitely out.
His spell even if it was one is possibly polymorph or druid shifting maybe other things still does not look like amiture league. It still means me taking on my own does not end well in a casting dule. My best hope: i knock him out on the drop if i miss im fucked ok bad idea. To top it off crows are a great Disguise to get info and into places without others knowing your there. meaning they are after recon for themselves or someone or thing but why this city what the hell is here? They obviously did not want people to know there here but why?.
Ok get what i can from here and tell ka'lion when i can without giving myself away.
( Only raven god i know that has to deal with is The Raven Queen but thats 4th and 5th ed. Not sure if your using her in this game.)

Pulling back their hood as they walk towards populated streets George catches sight of what appears to be a human woman in her 30s, pale skin, black hair, and features that suggest that they are not local to this part of the world.
No tattoos that he can see on her face, though her appearance is distinct enough to set her apart. One glove bears a silvery glint, a bladed or taloned gauntlet of some kind, but much of the rest of her equipment is hidden beneath her cloak.

Ka'lion sets a baring. While he could only see the stars by night it was still possible to travel by day relative to the position of the sun, checking the stars when he needed to turn to avoid danger.
Outside in the city George follows the odd individual as they walk through into a market and ultimately stop at a square where numerous oddly dressed individuals and armed groups are milling around buying food and drink from street vendors. Some stand examining parchments pinned up to boards and poles while others listen to a crier who is calling out for the services of soldiers to join someone called Verdia in some form of conflict.

The crier is mostly talking up this Verdia guy, no mention is made of a target. Perhaps an ongoing and known conflict or perhaps simply gathering men.
As he peers at some of the signs he can see no sign of the name Verdia - it's difficult to make them out at a distance but they are in different styes and on different parchments and papers. Work adverts, bounties, requests for goods and services. This seems like a gathering places for mercenaries and adventurers but also scribes and traders.
