The pair look towards Ka'lion quizzically as he approaches. The woman, armoured, has her spear close to hand and seems ready to fight at a moments notice while the man has feet up and seems relaxed. It is he who answers, "I don't believe we've had the pleasure, I am Xuno, and I suppose you could say I am well acquainted with this land"
He seems confident, and speaks in a manner that is self assured without sounding egotistical.

( I assume Shamious after being done here will be lead to a secondary place later that night that was talked about him headed to next. George wants to be sure both ladies get the full amount.)
George sits and waites to see how this conversation/interaction turned out.
After all he did say he would help ka'lions people skills. yet it seams he has came along a bit better then when he first saw ka'lions interaction with others.

The woman seems somewhat irritated while the man seems to hold back his initial reaction, instead stating in the same friendly tone, "we are not common mercenaries. Uncommon perhaps but offers of gold and ... employment interest us little, but we will hear your proposal none the less." He waves nonchalantly towards his companion, "we are after all currently unoccupied with other affairs".

"Are you interested in knowledge?" asked Ka'lion, ""I'm carrying over 100 pounds of books for my people - so they can learn about faraway lands. I've requested 2 mules for the journey. I can talk with them with the right spells. I'll need to summon a new animal complain and a familiar at some point. I set the animals free before Goerge, his friend and I teleported here. I didn't feel conferrable bring animals to the other side of the world where they would not be able to find suitable mates. So I did not offer any money. I offered a long and dangerous hike. Some people like that kind of thing. I have a lot but I don't work for money either. I'm getting the training I need to fight a great evil. When we are ready I plain to return to the other side of the world to fight it. In the meantime. I think I can do more good here."

Some say if you unlock what it holds your richer than those who have large sums of coin or castles. I can't make any honest guesses. So if you want a time limit - I'm not sure. But assuming we are in the right place and we are traveling about 18 miles a night and sleeping during the day - we are looking at most about 55 days. I hope it's shorter then that but my people are isolationists and have little money. What little they do have My families traders keep for themselves." said Ka'lion

Ka'lion is getting familiar vibes, much as with the ogre he guesses that despite his words this man would work for sufficient coin but feels little drive to donate his efforts without some reason. Ka'lion knows that a great many come through here seeking adventure or the secrets and reputed treasures hidden deep within the Pale Wastes, but the party would have to venture out into the city to find them.
NPCs can be broadly grouped into 5 types -
1) Those trying to harm you (i.e. thugie-style assassin, con men, agents of enemies, etc)
2) Mercenaries - hirelings, work for pay (i.e. Melwyn)
3) Adventurers - will team up if your stated goals in some way match those (i.e. Altar)
4) Wanders - will team up for vague promises (i.e. Lynette)
5) Contacts - people who can help you, but are not party material (i.e. Berith)
These two, by Ka'lions estimation, would be mercenaries. Powerful, expensive, capable of defeating challenges for the party rather than simply with them.

The rest of the morning is uneventful, a messengers comes for the other two and the leave about an hour after their arrival. Benny brings fruit, bread, ale, and a wine list and suggests a few types of cheese that neither Ka'lion nor George are familiar with (as with the wine, at a cost).
It seems unlikely the group will find the type to travel with them here, at least without pay, and the pair entertain themselves with Ka'lions books waiting to see if any more prospective adventurers appear before them.

Ka'lion will save the seeds to take them with him back home for the families gaurdens. He'll get some sleep.

Ka'lion reminds George that he plans on leaving at night. This might be a good time to get some sleep, though there is a whole city of adventure out there. He wonders what a few months of travel through the wastes might bring.

As i understood we are leaving the next night. George did say he wanted shamious to have a full day/night. So yes he will go see what the city has to offer.
