Ka'lion smiles, thinking we can't hear where they are going with all this noise. "Target the zombies George. They may fall!" warned Ka'lion

Given momentary space George creates a torrent of water that pushes the remaining spiders out into the hall and under the doors. With their summoner pulled away Ka'lion doubts any would be able to return before the spell came to an end. The zombies themselves do not seem to be heading towards a specific destination, simply away from George towards the stairs, but as Ka'lion peeks outside he can see one of the other doors - for the room adjacent to this one - has been opened. [Tag George/Shamious for saves - failing the save against nauseating doesn't matter as George will have a second chance to cast his spell next round without the spiders distracting him and and the spell creates 35+ gallons of water - only the poison has any lasting effect]
And the [Tag All] as the zombies fall back.Did using his sword to turn the water cold do anything? Chilled the water and made footing a little awkward - but it's hard to say if the spiders were frozen, drowned, or stepped on as there are so many of them.

Into the room - all doors open away from the hallway. There are no spiders or zombies emerging from the room (and Ka'lion can move to peer in if he wants, the zombie group have retreated past it - though it would put him in line of fire to the shadow-caster)

Ka'lion gets his gear and the party goes after the shadow caster we are not wanting for him to trap us in a room filled with spiders again.

Free of the spiders and the fear magic the group step out of the room as the shadow caster, lost once more in the darkness, falls back with his zombie horde away from George towards the staircase. The slow speed of the zombies means that any of the group could rush them down if desired. [Everyone saves, Tag all]( can shamious move and get clear shots on the caster with 30 move speed ? ) He is shooting through the zombies, but everyone can be in a position to take a shot before they shuffle up the stairs still retreating from the turn undead power.

Ka'lion JGYPUGPAp_1-20+8-1=11 p_1-20+8-1=13
Ka'lion casts create water on the stairaway under the shadow carters and the zombies - he's hoping to trip all of them and send them toumbling to the bottom. He hopes it will do plunty of damage. They should all make reflex saves at mines stuational - no one would exspect a waterfall on the stairway. would they?1-201-20

Ka'lion gets closer to the zombies and creates as much water as he can up the staircase (as they are ascending from the ground floor) - however 8 gallons spread across several seconds and such a wide area as the main staircase is less a waterfall and more a shower, and the zombies themselves are moving no faster than walking pace as they shuffle away from Georges magic.
An interesting strategy, but 8 gallons is only a small fishtanks worth of water - little more than 8lbs in total spread across too wide an area. Something for Ka'lion to keep in his arsenal for a higher caster level and narrower staircase.
Ka'lion and the others don't need to make any more saves as the spiders are gone. [Tag George/Shamious]

8 gallions of water is 68 pounds of water. A galleon weigths 7.8 pounds per galleon. Salt water weigths over 8 pounds per galleon. Just thought youd like to knew.

Wasn't basing the outcome on the weight though (since i'm not sure what it would take to knock someone over) - rather I just looked up the size of an 8 gallon fish tank and used that as a basis and made a single REF roll just to see if it was enough to slow the zombies for a turn - DC10+spell level+Ka'lions wis mod They got a 17. If I had rolled a 1 then a zombie or two may have stumbled but it isn't really enough water for the area.

I was counting on the saves being indavigual and like any wet floor for people to fall and hoping for a snowball effect. Why do you think restronts use those pylons for wet floors - wet floors are slick.

Yes I would - grease I'd use to cast under stone furnicher to be able to move heavy things or on ropes or on chains or even wheels in case of rust. Perhaps the best place to use greese is unmoveable treasure. greese works much better casting it on the tartets feet. You should also note sleep and color spray do largely the same thing. So why do we have both of them? Basicly I would of given the zobies and shadow adept +4 to their saves but if they fell I'd give the others -2 to their saves not to be knocked down and if they where knocked down falling damage would be appropreite. which is 2d6 I think for every ten feet someone falls. They'd be falling on stone floor as someone that has had the wind knocked out of me when I fell ice staking. It took a little while to stand back up. But it is your game. I just think it's a bad call. Ka'lion doesn't have a lot of combat spells but this might one of his.

George and Shamious advance as Ka'lion tries to slow the zombies with water magic, and in the light of the magical ring George can see that the open door (to his left as he moves forward) leads to an empty dining room. He knows he can't get too close to the zombies without breaking the effect but he can guide their direction somewhat and can choose to try and keep them bunched up as their ascend the stairs or split then into two groups as the stairs split. [Tag George/Shamious]But it is your game. I just think it's a bad call. Ka'lion doesn't have a lot of combat spells but this might one of his. As a general rule spells and magical effects do not inflict damage, save modifiers, and other conditions not included in their description - and while I will bend this rule in favour of the players for clever usage there is a limit (though falling over isn't nearly as lethal as you think in 3.5).
This is also applies to all other effects - you don't need to make saves to catch fire when hit with a flaming sword for instance, people can't trip you up for falling damage by hitting the ground at your feet with an ice sword, lightning magic won't cause you to drop all your stuff or shock the guy standing next to you in metal armour, and so on.

( i was more or less waiting on where or not we had clear shots to the evil caster and that never got cleared up due to other spell questions.
The issue is this we could be running into yet another trap and we have lack of spells, sleep, yet we can let evil caster live. So of course we need to chase.
My understanding is Turn undead as worded in phb actually could have destroyed most of them not just turned them. So my issue is this: with georges Knowledge of undead he would have known that and would have done so, why then are they still moving at all? If any were still around he would have moved them in a way to give us a clear shot to evil caster and not let them give him cover.
So before we can act i feel those questions need to be soloved first.)

Ka'lion changes his spells at dusk as a druid and in the morning as a wizrd. So this is not an issue for him most of the time. He thinks of it as not put all your eggs in one basket. But I've been waiting for your action.
GM: is their some way to increase the writing size on site? I'm having eye sergery on monday and I've been told my eyes will be getting worse for a year before they get better.
