The group appear atop a patterned teleportation stone. To Ka'lion his home looks unchanged albeit oddly quiet, while to George and Shamious it is a confusing mix of plants and constructions of all kinds, no two alike and nothing that appears to have been grown or constructed with any immediately obvious logic.
Astwick looks tired after his spellcasting but comments, "I don't know about you but if you are planning on travelling to the island you might consider doing it before your grandmother returns and has other ideas."

"Transport between the two locations is restrictive, we can only teleport through the barrier at the height of the moon and even then only to a specific spot where the barrier seems weakened. I'd also suggest provisions in the event you miss your landing, but Zekiel will give you the details."
Drop off items here and pick up gear based on wealth by level - items can be switched up whenever you return to camp within reason and the capabilities of the camp to provide.
'Shapeshifter' PrC? Do you mean 'master of many forms' ?

"No but that would be something he might wish to study at another time. On the charters list the entire pristage class was copied in detail in the equipment list from the oriental adventures book. You gain extra shape change +4, spell advancemen every other level - I'll be advancing Ka'lions wizard abilties and addi to the spells he knows and he gains. My problem with master of many forms is combat levels are slow and hit points I think are a d4 - shapechanger is a d8.

On the charters list the entire pristage class was copied in detail in the equipment list from the oriental adventures book. ok - i've got that book. No problems with the PrC.
George just needs to update his level and equipment but I can continue on while that is being done unless the group has any business here.

The party is directed to a new construction, a roofed-over pit in the ground with a broad hole in the top and a glass orb hung on a framework above it. Below the ground is mostly occupied by a stone circle with arcane and elven runes engraved upon it.
It is explained that when the moon is directly over the matching stone circle within the mythal there is a short window in which the correct teleportation ritual can send travellers from this stone to the matching stone on the island. No more can be taken through than can fit on the stone, though it is large enough for several carts.
Only during the full and gibbous moons can the barrier be crossed and it is already the final few days of this most recent cycle. The next group through will be the last for a few weeks taking food and other supplies for the weeks until the next opening.
Ka'lion and George can join this group or volunteer to lead it themselves - those here who wished to travel to the island and it's relative lack of amenities had already gone through while others like Riin were being encouraged, but would not turn down a few extra weeks to get their affairs in order and more of their equipment sent across ahead of them.

Ka'lion will offer to lead, but he will want to know who else is going and is in his party.

The option to lead is essentially the option to replace those others who were going this time around - it would just be Ka'lion, George, and Shamious unless they wanted to try and talk someone else into coming with them.
The job isn't really one that requres a 'leader' beyond that. Someone is just sent with the supplies as they sometimes arrive off target and need to be hauled back, particularly around the end of the moon cycle as it is now.

Well as Ka'lions gear is mostly a haversack, a quiver and a bag of holding - he should be about to carry anything portable now. As long as the gear can fit he's pretty much ready now. He'll see if anyone else is.

The group gather up at the teleportation stone. A single large wagon is being redied with a horse to pull it.
Ka'lion is greeted by a few of the inhabitants of the community while others inquire as to George and Shamious's fields of study here, or if they are perhaps traders, or seeking adventure through the portal.
Zekiel is the man Ka'lion wishes to speak to though, the aging spellcaster in charge of the teleportation. He pulls out maps and sketches to hand to Ka'lion showing what they have learnt of the other side and where to find the camp based on nearby landmarks - it would seem that simple divination is easily confused and the group have opted not to send up a signal flare or other magic to make the camp easy to find.
Riin and another mage, Alice, are pleased to see that the group has stepped up to take over this trip giving them another month to finish things here. It would seem that there has been a lot of trading of placing amongst the outgoing groups as there is little infrastucture on the far side at this point in time.

"Ka'lion asks if anyone has a unseen servent scroll before they leave. Ka'lion wassen't plaining on studying the spell but if the party can't see where they are going it's a good idea to to have someone that can walk ahead of the party and he doesn't want to sacrifice any animals to do that. Ka'lion can afford it. Ka'lion copies the maps and sketches while Zekeil tells him about what the party have found so far. Ka'lion figures that the maps they have and sketches - they will need them next month. Ka'lion also asks for a mashetee for cutting down weeds for everyone going. If the party can't find enough of them. He'll have Shamious make them for everyone once we get to camp. And just as a percaution he ties everyone ten feet apart with a rope or 2 so if they become seperated in the fog the party will know about it or if anyone steps into a pit trap they just might not fall the the bottom.
"Now my party. I don't know if any of you have been to the island before and other then Goerge and Shamious which will follow me to Hell and back. I have a reputation of being unpredictable. If we arrive on target keep it quiet. If we are not on target. I'm going to cast a light spell on nearby tree, statue or rock so you can find me. I don't have any objections to people knowing I'm there. I'm not going to the island to invade. I'm going to the islands to save lives peacefully if it is possible. But our luck not been that great lately. I've been told divanation spells are unreliable on the island. That's okay with me. I just hope that doesn't interfear with comprehend language and tongues spells. Do any of your read and write in elven? On this job it would be helpful. I don't speak the language. We will stay near the tree until the light spell ends. Then I'll choose a path and we will move as quietly as we can. We will act as blockers for the horse and wagon to keep problems to a minimum. I don't like mistakes so don't wander off. We wont be coming to look for you until we get to camp." says Ka'lion. "Any questions?"

(to be clear there is no 'party' unless Ka'lion asks for others to some - normally only a couple of people go through with each transport as the community have limited manpower and Ka'lion is swapping out for one such group)
The scroll and tools are easily obtained and Zekeil has spare copies of the map and Ka'lion and George sit up with the wagon keeping the horse occupied until the moon is high over the island, a wait of a few hours. A hot meal is provided for them while they wait which George and Shamious find... interesting in flavour, though feel it would be rude to comment.

George was use to trying new foods over his many adventures. Shamious on the other hand has not as much but mannors was of course to be held in a high regard.

George hears the plan but there is a bit of a smerk when he hears ka'lion talk in detail and how he used "path" in multiple ways and ka'lion never seamed to grasp it. Now it seams as tho he has even in a short context.
There is not a i told him so look just that he knows his god heard him too and that George knew this would happen all along and that was enough 4 him.

"We need an exspert on plaints. As a druid I'm pretty good but we don't want to risk being poisoned. And I could be wrong sometimes. We are going to need a few more people in the party. I guess Ka'lion will ask Riin and Alice what are their speshalties?"
George and Shamious might as will get a little sleep. Ka'ions going to take a nap. Ka'lion wont be traveling at night anyways.

Riin is a shaper and crafter, notably she is skill at reforging magical items into different forms. Alice was a promising student when Ka'lion left with exceptional natural talent but little experience who specialised in the study of metamagic.
They just want you to take the cart safely through and help out the people already on the other side.

Ka'lion requests a list of the people that both dissappeared on the other side and have gone throw. Just in case someones gone rogue of dissapeared.
