"Well I'm out of summoning spells. But we have a reliable weapon. Plus I've learned a few things. Teleports should not be causing the camp the problems it is. Summoning spells are a version of teleport. So the area is specifically screened against the teleport spell. That means there is a good chance to find a way around it. The camp should be looking at using shadow walk and gaseous form to study the area safely. Gaseous form I think should become the standard defense spell in camp. Cast the spell and completely disappear in the mist and fog.
What are you three working on?” asks Ka’lion

George, an experienced spellcaster in his own right, isn't convinced of Ka'lions conclusions. Summoned creatures are usually formed of ambient energy not drawn in from elsewhere, and the problem with teleportation here seemed to be accuracy rather than function - at least within the warded area.
Hubert adds, "defense against what? Were you attacked?"

"And I'm concerned about something else. Who created the mythal and why. What happened to them? Mythals are class 10 spells. That's a lot more powerful then we are. But we haven't seen them. Why not?" said Ka'lion

Hubert explains what he knows, "from what I understand the first true mythals were created by the elves, before the age of man. No one is entirely sure if their purpose was to aid the elves during the old age or to try and carry them into the next, not even the elves of this age."
He looks up to the sky, "there have been rumours of primitive copies over the years, lesser mythals created by mages, but nothing of this scale. No point of reference for what is going on, so we are trying to map out every oddity we can find."

"Who found the island?" asked Ka'lion, "And what where they looking for at the time and where where they looking?"

"Around 400 years ago a lich tried to steal the secrets of the skull council. Among his possessions was a notebook containing his efforts to create his phylactery, including the recovery of starmetal from a falling star he followed down from the sky to its impact point on this very island. Though he left a summoning circle behind he was never able to return, but recently we were able to break through the barrier to the same circle and reinforce it. Perhaps just luck, the moons in the right alignment to weaken the barrier, or perhaps the barrier had weakened enough in the past 400 years to make it possible."

" A litch? Um so from what ka'lion here has told me some of his family likes the well undead. Please Understand there is no judgement by the way of my god, me nor shamious.
Its just well from what i read litches dont have the best track record when it comes to not harming others.
I can say i have not yet meet one in person so i cant say that is fact, so im open not all are evil but there really is not much writen about them to begin with. Of that what is does not put them in best light.
That said its not getting home right now that worries me thats for a different time. its the fact that much of this place is still that much unknown, but that is exactly why its an adventure and why we are here."

"My family have met good lich’s but they are almost unknown. No one on the families skull council are lich’s. Even the founder which should be around 25th level. They are all awakened undead. Even the children. For a very spastic reason. So being undead can't harm the living. If they want to kill the living it forces those encounters to be deliberate. It rarely happens to them.
The problem with most undead is they make areas sick and die. But my ancestors have always been healers. They just don't trust the gods all that much and they didn’t want the innocent including themselves caught in the crossfire.
Fear and hatred tend to bring out the worst in people. Personally I love my heritage and families traditions. If I die and can be returned home. I to would be put on the skull council. The skull council is always growing with new stories to tell. That is not a bad way to be remembered.
But I’m not surprised that a lich would attack them and thinking they would win. Awakened undead are considered very weak in comparison to other undead and having no limbs just makes them weaker. But the skull council has always had something other undead don’t. Large numbers of thinking undead that are united teams of beings that teach the next generation of spell casters.
I think this island may be a good place to resettle for them. Plenty of animals to care far, good defense and old. The problem is I think we are going to need elven lore to learn more about it. And they may not want us here. But the first step is to better understand what we found. But it’s possible and I should say likely that the lich killed all of the inhabitants here when he came to the island looking for star metal.
So I think that need’s to be our priority. A star metal hunt. It’s very doubtful he found all of it and the most likely place to learn about the past would be places that the lich had been.” says Ka’lion

" Thats kinda funny.
Shamious and were looking for some before I refound/meet back up with you. It's said you can forge some quality gear with it. Gear that can help here . It will give shamious a great project to work on if we are able to get some. And yes i know we are not going to steal it from the elvin kind we dont want hostility/war. Yet if it is ok to get it, then i see no reason not too.
Who is fluent in elvish, because i really dont want miss communication with them if there are any left."

"I speak 5 languages including the fay tongue so I should be able to talk with them. But I don't know elven. If I wanted to take a crash course in languages I'd study a level as a bard. I don't have the charisma to learn spells as one but I could learn 10 languages pretty quickly. I don't think star metal something the skull council need's - but some of the star metal could be sold to green metal wizards. From what I hear they eat it while turning themselves into living golems. So I don't think it would be much of a problem for the family. Others would need to be consulted. But I really don't think the skulls will object. They don't need it. Very few of the skulls adventure anymore. Those that do - do so using a permanent mage hand to get around on their own.” said Ka’lion, “Do you know what star metal looks like in it’s natural form. I wouldn’t recognize it if I was sitting on it.”

"Starmetal is a green-ish ore from what I have read, though only small amounts are used and alloyed with other metals" answers Arthur. "As for elves, we have found none so far nor any evidence of their existence. It is most odd, and the Lich made no comment of them in his notes either."

" And we are certain then this work was of elf magic? Because its odd that u have not found them. No historical records left. No marks or ruins of a caln here. And yet they cast odd magic and it works oddly. This only leaves more questions 4 us. Hopefully in time we find these answers. But now we should all rest. Sleep helps the brain think."

"Plenty of space to sleep here, and you can help offload the cart if you aren't too tired from your journey. The others should be back over the next day or two as the anomalies become harder to spot."
Arthur gives a quick tour of the camp, a mix of the mundane and magical thrown together without much in the way of co-ordination including stores of equipment and books.

Ka'lion, Samanious and George offload the cart while we figure out where we want to sleep. Ka'lions will look over the books when they are finished. What in camp are the things that where found on site?

The books mostly cover magical theory, elven lore, and identification of flora and fauna, along with a few books of spells, rolls of scrolls, diaries and logbooks, maps, and blank books and paper sheets.
Ka'lion finds a single tent that holds the majority of the camps magical items, though there are also wands, potions, and other objects scattered around the site. Within the tent is more of the same alongside staves, magical clothing and gemstones, and a few weapons.
There are also a number of securely locked and warded chests.

Goerge and Ka'lion will leave the secure chests alone and read until the others get back and study the maps and jurnals.
