I too was looking at the Duskblade. It has a certain aura that intrigues me. I also was looking at the Beguiler, just because it's something new. More than likely, I will stick to what I know, and that might be Barbarian or Fighter.

I will go ahead and close this thread now. No new players wanting to play, so let's close the thread and assume our roster stands. When you get the chance, post your PC up for DM and peer review.
Also, regarding duskblades and different classes; would it help you guys if the point buy were higher? Shackled City can be tough and I am interested in survivability so I've got no problem going a bit higher with the point buy. tell me a workable number and I'll counteroffer if necessary.

Well, I'm just greedy with points. You don't really need to raise them. 32 is a lot higher than the standard 25, which just seems silly. We usually roll 4d6 and drop the lowest back at the ranch.
But in terms of survival, I'd ask that there is a standard procedure in determining hit points, and that we get gear equivalent to our levels, hopefully gear that we can actually use. But I guess the gear part can be figured out later.

I would love to increase the points to 36, as that should provide 'suvivability' in this game. Or, as one DM had done, he inserted the use of Action Points to provide a survivability. Rememder the World's Largest Dungeon scheme with the action points and dispersion of them on death to 'cheat' death? I would say that might work.
Or we could stick to what we have and go from there. I don't mind either way, but if you wanted higher chances for surviving, then perhaps the action point system would work in our favor. Then, if we died, and didn't have the AP to cheat death, then it would on us to either go back to the drawing board, or bow out of the game.
The idea of high hit points each level would work as well, like TZS mentioned.
I think that covers all the various options.

Well, looks like I'm going with Duskblade.
I've pretty much played every other class already anyway.
We could use a bardish or other support type in a six person party.
TTC's probably going to have the area control handled eventually with a conjurer.

42 points would be fun, but I can work with whatever is given. Just don't expect much help in fights.
Action points would also be Awesome, esp If we use the ones from Unearthed Arcana.

I can't post my character until the html characters are fixed. What HTML characters need fixing? On a side note, I'm working on digging up a script that will allow the use of some HTML tags within posts. I plan on using this because it will allow me to embed Flash files for the battlegrid, which I hope will keep us organized and be all that more pretty. If I can help, let me know.

I don't know. For some reason they're not showing for me. I noticed the trademark symbol in my display name first, and then I looked at other characters here and they were all messed up as well.
So right now, because you quoted me and my display name comes up, whatever's wrong with it is making the rest of your post come up as one huge hypertext link, though I'm not sure where it goes.
It could just be a problem on my part. I've got IE running. Is anyone else seeing this or am I just crazy.

Worked for me as well. Is that the infamous Windows Vista you are using TZS?

hahahaha, yeah.
But I'm not sure if it's just a thing with this site.
cause it seems to work for all of the other ones I've been looking at today.
who knows. My IE's been acting a little funny anyway, not saving the set text size like it usually does and whatnot. we'll see.
As long as you guys are seeing everything alright I guess I feel a little better.

So, Point buy is still at 32? Just asking, as I am thinking of trying to complete a character concept this weekend.

Hey, for those that have seen a Dragon Shaman in games, what feats work and what doesn't work? I took some unusual ones, since it's a whole new character them for me, and it sort of fits his forte. Endurance, and Steadfast Determination for ignoring his Wisdom stat altogether. This guys not going to be a healer, just a survivor type. Eventually, I will gain access to healing at 6th level, if we survive that long... but when I do, it's something like 36 points of healing ability per day. Not a lot, but better than nothing.
Is there anyone that will be making use of a wand of cure light wounds?

No wands of CLW at these low levels. Though if there's a paladin, he can use one if he gets one.
Like I've said, the only Dragon shaman I've seen in action isn't all that good, though it's likely more the player's fault then the class.
Recover breath is a good feat, I think it's called that. It lets you get your breath back one round sooner than usual.
But that's in a book outside of the core, though since it's so closely linked to your character abilities like a lot of the other breath feats K Man would probably approve of letting you take those types of feats. Can't say for sure though, and it doesn't matter much if you don't have the books as we move on in levels.

KMAN, would you allow the purchase of a depleted wand of cure light wounds at 15gp per charge? I am only alloted 80gp to start out with, and might have enough for a single charge purchase, lol. Plus, with my low UMD mod, it might fizzle.... fo shizzle...
