We could use 1) ranged attacks, 2) a skill monkey and, 3) a healer.
A Beguiler (from Players Handbook 2) would fill the first two roles.
An archer Ranger would work and Track would have been so darn useful in our current situation.
We have a dragon shaman which can heal the party up to 1/2 max hp. But no healer to take us to near max or remove conditions. So a cleric/druid would be much appreciated. And since we do have a dragon shaman, the cleric's/druid's healing load will be much reduced.
Our rogue is currently MIA, so we could use a rogue too, but if he comes back we might be over-rogued. So any prospective rogues out there should check out Deekin's Tibur (see Shackled City character section) and create a complimentary rogue (e.g. focus on a different skill set, create a combat heavy rogue (melee or ranged), aim for a certain prestige class).
Our party wizard (focused on conjuration) is gone. We can still bring some arcane whoop-ass to the table at later levels via Duskblade and Battle Sorcerer (focused on illusion), but you can never have too much arcane fire power.
The front line is a little crowded, but if you want to create a front-liner, please, go ahead and do so. The point of the game is to have fun, not to create the most optimized party.

Please share what kind of build you're looking at. I think ghost and I are the other two recruits (based on the Shackled City thread), and it might help us to coordinate a little. I was thinking of doing a cleric, or maybe a druid (just to make TZS mad), but I could just as easily go skill-focused for a rogue type.
Just trying to make sure we hit all the major coverage needed.
My current idea is a Cleric of Olidammara, possibly dipping into Rogue a little. If a druid, I'd be doing the shapeshifting variant from PHB II, but I don't have a concept for this that really jumps out at me (I was thinking an underground-focused druid, if I can manage it; maybe a dwarf or half-orc or something).
I also thought an Orcish Wizard would be fun/challenging, given the stat penalties (not half-orc--orc).
Feedback is appreciated.
[EDIT:] On the other hand, I just noticed a new registered member, piranjade. Are lurkers coming out of the woodwork??? That would be awesome.

Bah, screw it. The Cleric of Olidammara, while interesting, is a pain to pull off with multi-classing/lack of skills. I'll just go Beguiler and cover the arcane/skill routes. With Rojito covering ranged combat, that should hit the major party gaps.
Except for a healer, of course. Heh.

Well waiting on confirmation of a feat, but the build atm is just a basic one... only scratched out to eighth level. just a simple Wood Elf fighter simple, elegant, devestating. But if wanted, or if that feat doesn't work, i have many other characters, another Elf who is devestating in melee, and has a few healing capabilities. the most terrifing mage whose ever flown over your head, or as a skill based i suppose i could make some sort of Wizard into Chameleon, which would be interesting...

With Deekin back, I'm going back to the Cleric side of things to get that healing role taken care of. I'll be playing a Human Cleric of Boccob, Cloistered Cleric variant (so poor BAB, simple weapons and light armor only, 6+Int skills, Domains Magic, Trickery, Knowledge)
Should fill out some much-needed Knowledges and give us a healing boost. And with Magic as a domain, the ability to use arcane scrolls/wands should be handy as well.

Well, if new people want to join, Udjat and Rojito might want to give them a chance. Hopefully we can hear back from Ghost, and I think Lin said something about wanting to get back involved in the play by posting for real this time and might have mentioned it to KMan.
So we should wait and see who's in before everyone starts making characters considering we only have two slots to fill.
Of course, stand by characters are always good to have.

Well, if new people want to join, Udjat and Rojito might want to give them a chance. Naturally. Like Rojito, I have no problem stepping down if new folks or returning players want to jump in. I've got plenty of other things to do. But no harm trying to work out some concepts beforehand--I can always use them in some other game. Creating characters is fun.

*shivers* gods you dont want to see what my desktop looks like. half of my large screen is covered in notepad files for character builds and ideas, and then there are some folders specifically designed to hold sheets for 1 build, but through multiple levels. For me, a good chunk of the game is watching the character develop, and you can do that through just building, but it is no where near as fun.

Sorry, for posting so late, but I had to wait for my account being approved.
I'm not a lurker actually, but the girlfriend of a lurker and got sucked into this board by huge freakin' letters. I have near to none experience with D&D, but would be more than happy to get the oportunity to play here and if possible I'd like to play a ranged attack ranger.

Well, looks like we have a new player to bring into this campaign. Nice to see a new player here, and you will have plenty of help if you need it to create a character. So, glad to have you aboard!

Thank you very much for the welcome! I got the D&D eTools at the "Spiel" Convention in Essen and used those to build the character. It's a female human archer Ranger. But I'd also be willing to change her for a Beguiler.
Female Human Ranger "Feneni" Atk +3 base melee, +5 base ranged;
+6 (1d8+1, Longbow, composite ( +1 Str Bonus), Masterwork); +3 (1d4+1, Dagger); +3 (1d6+1, Scimitar); +3 (1d3+1, Unarmed strike);
AL CG; SV Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +2;
STR 12, DEX 16, CON 12, INT 14, WIS 14, CHA 10.
Skills: Balance +4, Climb +2, Handle Animal +5, Hide +5, Jump +5, Knowledge (Geography) +5, Knowledge (Nature) +7, Listen +7, Move Silently +8, Search +7, Spot +7, Survival +7.
Feats: Armor Proficiency: light, Armor Proficiency: medium, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Shield Proficiency, Simple Weapon Proficiency, Track.
Would she be OK like that? Oh, and because eTools told me that with all the stuff I bought I'd have a heavy load I bought a pony.

Sounds like you did pretty well. The mechanics look sound, and that's a very solid ranged build. I'm not sure what you bought for equipment, though I would recommend trying to get yourself down to a light load. A mount of any kind can be problematic in a dungeon crawl, which appears to be where everyone is right now.

Maybe I got carried away a bit by all the things the eTools offered me to buy and so I bought stuff like a tent and a bedroll. If I only carry my weapons, armor, my money, a lantern and a waterskin I have a light load.

If I only carry my weapons, armor, my money, a lantern and a waterskin I have a light load. That stuff's nice to have, but not generally necessary, no. Life is rough until one can afford a haversack. On the other hand, you could reduce one of your other stats to raise your strength, thus allowing for a higher carrying capacity. Or get one of the 16 Strength people in the party to carry stuff for you.

Well, with the return of Deek and the newcomer Piranjade, I think I've got my people interested in joining 'The Shackled City'.
So far I have; Lin Udjat Rojito Piranjade
Ideally I'd like to fill the two missing spots and Rojito and Udjat both mentioned stepping down for people that are new or have few/no games currently going for them. Does anyone else want to throw their hat in or bow out for the game?
