Seeing that Doran was trying for a flanking position, Harknail moved though the icy zone to flank the rat (G4), then issued it a Divine Challenge before attempting a Holy Strike. Harknail was built to fight as part of a unit and he was at his best doing so. Targeting the same enemy as a friend gave him more of an advantage than just flanking (+1 for Warforged Tactics) [dice=20]+6+3=22[dice=8]+5=7 Harknail connected doing 7 points of divine damage to the rat.[rand=61295139696449048741335789673035630685444921255493031685706228]

Although challenged, the Dire Rat (Gray 4) would rather munch on a fleshy target. But not only did Doran easily dodge the rats teeth, the rat took another 5 points of divine damage for the attempt.
The Goblin Sharpshooters continued to attack Doran and Harknail. Both hit doing 6 points damage to each. Harknail went down yet again.
The Goblin Warriors changed forward into the icy zone (Blue 1 to H8, Blue 2 to G6), launching javelins at Gabe and Sanem. The javelins were launched with power but not quite enough accuracy. Sanem was able to dodge the javelin aimed at him while the one aimed at Gabe glanced off the armor of his right arm.
The last Goblin (Purple 5) finally moved, running around the pillar to charge Doran. But charging around corners proved too much for the goblin, he bumped into the wall thowing off his aim to the point that he didn't even come close to Doran. (in other words, he rolled a 1)

Gabe again exhorted Harknail to get back up. Inspiring Word +[dice=6] hp Gabe also used his Commander's Strike to give set up Doran for another attempt at the Rat. OOC: Even though Harknail is now prone, he still counts for flanking. Also, since Doran hasn't used his sneak attack since the beginning of his last turn, he can use it if this basic attack hits. He can use sneak attack again on his turn. [rand=25297264987602837113284459337592297196375671774159794882410205901]

Straining to spot a good spot to direct his fire now that more had joined the fight around the pillar Bharash turns his attention to the goblins with the javelins. Now they had run further forward they were in a fine position to be scorched. Bharash quickly gestures between them, before any of his allies press forward and get in the way and yet another of his conflagrations errupts. Doran uses Gabe's Comanders Strike on Grey 4: [dice=20]+3[dice=4]+3[dice=6][dice=6]+2 Hitting AC 20 (not counting combat advantage) for 14 damage including sneak attack, plus another 4 from Gabe's bonus (Is it dead yet?). On his turn, Doran tries yet another Riposte Strike, on Grey 4 if it lives, or on Purple 5 if not: [dice=20]+5[dice=4]+5 Well, never mind, then. Ineffective. Doran shifts to H3.[rand=85260251119242480530736498861641450741104705008626469905340448622]

OOC: I can still play Sanem, when this encounter is done we can decide how to continue OOC: You'll be able to change characters at that time, sooner if some other new player would like to play an Elf Ranger. Your new character is already coming up the corridor heading for the sounds of a fight. Ok, thanks. If you want some script for him, when he sees the battle he will throw a hammer to the closest goblin/rat to get their attention, draw the craghammer and close as much as possible. Regarding Sanem, he will change his quarry to the goblin that attacked him while shouting "How you dare!", shoot two arrows at him with twin strike, and move to I2 to get cover from his allies. Attack 1: [dice=20]+6 = 14 vs. AC Damage [dice=10] Attack 2: [dice=20]+6 = 20 vs. AC Damage [dice=10] Hunters quarry: [dice=6]

Doran makes use of the opening Gabe provided to hit the rat (Gray 4) hard. He then tried hit the rat again, but the rat was able to dodge the second blow.
Bharash tried to catch both remaining Goblin Soldiers in a Scorching Burst, but one of the goblins was able to avoid being toasted. The goblin that had hit Doran (Blue 1) felt the full effects of the flame though.
The other Goblin didn't escape scot free however. Sanem returned the attack with two arrows. One arrow missed, the other struck hard on the Elves query.

Harknail stood up once again, between a Dire Rat and a Goblin Soldier. In an effort to free Doran for other foes Harknail tried hitting the Rat with a Holy Strike. [dice=20]+6+3=25[dice=8]+5=12 That last blow was enough to finish the rat. Realizing that he couldn't protect the others if he went down again, Harknail used his Lay on Hands ability on himself.[rand=784279171377420438003947818651795323512854985892828055627970024943]

One Goblin Solder (Blue 1) charged Gabe using a spear but missed. He then shifted (to H4) in order to get in reach of the mage that had just toasted him. <Let me at him.> he said in Goblin, though only Doran could understand him.
The other Goblin Solder (Blue 2) simply attacked the construct before it while it's attention was on the rat. But the steel plated Paladin's armor deflected the blow. The goblin then shifted to between Harknail and the closest Sharpshooter (to F5).
The Goblin Sharpshooters continued shooting at Harknail and Doran, which seemed to be the most dangerous two that they could reach. Both shots hit their marks with Doran taking 10 points of damage and Harknail taking 9 (OOC: good thing he healed himself).
The Goblin Blackblade tried to slide his short sword though a gap in Doran's armor, but didn't even come close to hitting Doran.

Gabe shifts to give Doran flanking, then uses his Commander's Strike to give Doran an opening to attack the now surrounded Goblin. He didn't like how battered the front line was getting.

Status: Doran: 8 of 30 HP Gabe: 13 of 22 HP Harknail: 7 of 31 HP, 9 surges Goblins: Blue 1: Injured Blue 2: Injured, quary Red 5: Uninjured Red 6: Uninjured Purple 5: Injured Map The goblins have taken heavy losses, but right now the numbers are even, 3 of our group are bloodied and none of the goblins are. They think they can still win this, we'll need to prove them wrong Tag all. Doran, you get a free basic attack on Blue 1 with flanking, +4 damage, and Sneak Attack (since you had missed). That worked so well last time Gabe is going to give Doran an extra attack whenever he has flanking and hasn't used Sneak Attack yet. It's a killer of a combo

Sanem will keep the pressure on his quarry, with another two arrows. Attack 1 [dice=20]+6 = 15 vs. AC Damage [dice=10]
Attack 2 [dice=20]+6 = 11 vs. AC Damage [dice=10] Quarry [dice=6]
He will stay in place, he still have cover from his allies and enemies on sight.[rand=402278477090553209615708405688839532913530173141549868896735556056]

OOC: Didn't Sanem move to I2?
Bharash is delaying hoping one of the other three would kill the goblin next to him before he had to so he could freely move to somewhere else

OOC: Didn't Sanem move to I2? OOC: I went back several pages and didn't find that. If he did, I missed it. Bharash is delaying hoping one of the other three would kill the goblin next to him before he had to so he could freely move to somewhere else OOC: That's good, I'll wait to see how Doran does before having Harknail attack. If all else fails, Bharash can still shift back and use ranged spells.

Doran is badly hurt. He will use a standard action to take a second wind, gaining 7 (or is it rounded up to 8?) HP. Then he spends an action point to make a Riposte Strike on Blue 1. [dice=20]+5+2[dice=4]+5[dice=6][dice=6]+2 Hits AC 20 including Combat advantace, doing a whopping 20 points of damage. If Blue 1 attacks Doran before Doran's next turn, Doran gets to make a basic melee attack first. Just in case that happens: [dice=20]+3[dice=4]+3 Doran shifts to H3.[rand=61982126949824123850258364408927615131357834918197171534268234]

Nice Doran also has the free basic attack against Blue 1 that Gabe gave him (along with sneak attack damage if it hits). That attack comes before all others, so I need that to continue.
