Sanem is not going to let his quarry escape. He will move to F5, and then use Evasive strike to shift 4 squares to B5, avoiding the potential attack from the red 5 goblin. Once in position, he shoots an arrow to the back of the blue 2 goblin The goblin goes down and skids to dead stop (literally). I assume Sanem announces something along the lines of "Got him", but probably more flowery since he is an elf, so that others don't waste time chasing the now dead goblin.

Harknail moves closer (E5) to the Goblin Sharpshooter that's been targeting Doran (Red 5). He issues a Divine Challenge to the goblin and then attempts to hit it with a Holy Strike. [dice=20]+6=11[dice=8]+5=8 But he missed.[rand=222865103743970469380036881193527028040518052876027704191859811544]

Need held action for Bharash and a revised action for Doran. Only Red 5 and Red 6 are left, both are uninjured.

Surprised at how quickly that elf could move when it tried Bharash was at least pleased that he did not have to worry about getting past the goblin in front of him to give chase. In case it decides to run away too Bharash sends a ray of frost at red 5. It probably would not kill it but would at least slow it down. [dice=20] +3 vs Fort targeting r5. If hit [dice=6] +3 cold damage plus slowed for turn

The goblin manages to shrug off Bharash's attack, but it looks like it wasn't easy. (OOC: He has a low fortitude, just not that low)
Waiting for Doran...

Doran using Gabe's Commander's Strike: Hits AC 24 for 9 Damage on purple. The Commander's Strike is enough to finish of the Goblin Blackblade (Purple 5). I assume Doran isn't going to continue to beat his corpse, so please submit a revised turn. Doran can start from either G3 or H3 (your choice). Okay, shift toward red five, and then apply the same attack. (sorry, had no internet over the weekend)

The goblin was just barely able to avoid Doran's attack, making use of the stone pillar for protection (hard cover gave -2 to hit).

Footsteps can be heard running towards the room from the direction the group had come from. The footsteps sounded too heavy to be goblins, and then there was the sound of metal armor clanging. Either the goblins have larger allies, or the group is getting unexpected reinforcements.
OOC: We have a couple of new players joining the game. One will be taking over Sanem, so elricz will be bringing in his dwarf at this point. I'll take a brief break here to give one player time to register and the other time to select a character (Gabe or a new leader)

The goblin was just barely able to avoid Doran's attack, making use of the stone pillar for protection (hard cover gave -2 to hit). Question: do creatures still threaten squares from which they have cover from?

As I understand it, it would take either Full Cover or Full Concealment to avoid being threatened. Doran and the goblin have partial cover, which gives a mutual -2 to hit for melee attacks.
The goblin has no penalty for using a ranged attack around a corner (the cover rules are different for ranged attack), but would get an opportunity attack from Doran if he tried.

OOC: Hello all. I'll be taking up the role of Sanem. Glad to be allowed on board! This will be my first real D&D experience, so please feel free to point out any mistakes I make due to my inexperience.

The goblin Doran tried to hit (Red 5) fell back from his attack (shift on miss to D4). He then shifted again to (to C4) before drawing his short sword and attacking Sanem. He managed to hit the Elf, but just barely (for 3 HP).
The other surviving goblin (Red 6) is finding himself in a bad situation. While he has cover now, there were far too many intruders between himself and safety. He considered leaving, but he too could hear reinforcements coming. The sharpshooter launches one last attack at Bharash, hitting the mage in his staff arm (for 5 HP). He then runs down the corridor that reinforcements came from (to H11), trying to hide in the darkness.

The group sees a figure approaching from the way they came, just coming around the corner. Even for those who couldn't see him clearly in the darkness could recognize that this was a dwarf. No other race had that distinctive body shape.
For his part, Thursagan has finally reached the battle he could hear up ahead. Though it looks like he missed most of it. The area was brightly lit by a glowing stone on the floor and a torch stuck into what looked to be some kind of golem. The floor was littered with dead goblins and a couple of dead rats. But only one live goblin was visible (Red 5, Red 6 is out of sight).

Status, the two last goblins are still uninjured. Goblin 5 is trying to get away slowly. Since he's at full HP, he'll be harder to stop. Goblin 6 is running into a dead end (though reinforcements came from that direction). Bharash: 15 of 26 HP Doran: 7 of 30 HP Gabe: 13 of 22 HP Harknail: 7 of 31 HP, 9 surges Sanem: 21 of 24 HP Thursagan: 31 HP Map: For those that are new, Yellow circles are the group. Squares of yellow tinting are bright light, all else is dim light. Any other color circle is a monster. Nominally the initiative order is: 22 Sanem 20 Goblin 20 Gabe 17 Doran (added Warlord bonus) 12 Bharash 5 Harknail with the Goblins having just moved. For ease of posting, I'm just taking actions in the order posted unless someone is specifically waiting.

Gabe gives the Dwarf a quick glance and a grim smile "Yo, stranger. We're sorting out the last of some goblins here, you're welcome to join in." Then he strides forward ducking as he moves past Harknail and with his Glaive attempts to free the retreating goblin from his legs calling calmly as he does so "Sanem, cut his exit off, then we'll all chase the last down together."Moves to E4 moving past Harknail. Viper's Strike with Glaive at Goblin Red 5 If hit: 2d4+3 [dice=4] | [dice=4] | 6+3 = 9 damage Effect: If the target shifts before the start of your next turn it provokes an opportunity attack from an ally of your choice. |
Gabe's Group Bonuses: Any ally within 10 squares that can see and hear me gains +2 to initiative. Any ally who can see me spending an action point to attack gains +2 to hit & +4 to damage[rand=79211035331443478191537677608187523506087371300400915723128462076]

Thursagan doesn't hesitate, he sees a valid target on red 5 and goes for it. He moves to H5, and charges from there, avoiding the construct and getting to D5 on time to deliver a blow with his craghammer [dice=20]+6+1(charge)=27 vs. AC Critical on the first swing! Damage: 10+5 = 15
After the swing he looks down to the goblin with fury on his eyes, challenging him to fight back (he marks him)[rand=976731152294502337320396059225040142353260817009725092057165979715]

Sanem acknowledges Gabe's advice by instinctively moving to to cut off the fleeing Goblin as soon as Gabe utters the words. Swiftly the Elf moves to A4 using his Swift Strike and readies an arrow. Before loosing it at the enemy, Sanem declares the closest Goblin his Quarry. After attacking he then moves on to A2 to keep the Goblin cut-off. Attack Red 5: [dice=20] + 6 vs. AC If hit, damage: [dice=10] + 4 Hunters Quarry damage: [dice=6] [rand=70222512020531491991865050161928440937051491068013991573265479187]

In an excellent display of team tactics, Gabe injures the goblin, Thursagan bloodies it, and Sanem finishes it off (bring it to exactly 0 HP).
Since the situation has changed, Sanem may change his move action, he is currently at A4.
Also, I've invited one more player to join us. I don't know what he'll use for a logon ID, but Ron R. is the creator of the Excel character sheet that elricz and I (along with many others) now maintain.
