Doran-"Yeah, good luck with that." Doran took all of his stuff with him when he got off the ship.

Zynthis will go around town and see what resources he can gather up. First, are there any boats? , especially large boats. Second, Zynthis will look for ropes, boards, chains and possibly something to dig with if we decide to go that route. In addition, a large winch would be helpful. And lastly Zynthis will try to recruit manpower. Zynthis will explain to people that he helped save the town and will ask people for help with this problem in return.

"Zynthis, cannot thy and Bharash and Laira work magic?" asked Harknail. "Cannot any of ye cast a spell that would help this ship?"
[hint: check your rituals or get creative with your attack powers. This group can help directly.]

Does anyone actually have that scribed in thier book?

I think I would have gone the, round people up and make them start digging, route.
However I think Harknail may be refering to the unseen servant scroll I just found. I am not sure how long it might take just 1 (admittedly untyring) digger to do it.
Also I am not sure how ritual scrolls work. Do I scribe it into my spellbook then immediately always have it available? or do I just use it as a 1 off use and you have to go to greater lengths to get it in your spell book?

The wizards' flame burst might be used to interesting effect, if it can be set off below the level of the sand. Prestidigitation might be able to do the job (thinking Sword in the Stone here), and Mage Hand might be somewhat effective. I don't think Eldridge blast will be more useful than a shovel and some muscle power. I don't think any martial powers are going to be useful, with the possible exception of Comander's Strike.

All are good ideas, but what I had in mind was Bharash's Ritual Make Whole. For something that big you can cast the ritual on a 5' section.

Well assuming Harknail does not mind me cheating by being told what to use...
"How big is this hole in the ship?" Bharash asks. "Did anyone who was in there see it?"
"I have fixed plenty of things with magic. It may be easier then getting all the labour we need to make this trench. I'd just need to get near the hole with plenty of wood and a bit of time."

I just seen the Harry Potter movie last night, the Make Whole spell they used was pretty awesome. I haven't seen it (I don't see movies anymoe). But that is what I like about 4th edition D&D. The characters start out awesome. As opposed to previous editions where a 1st level character has just finished his or her apprenticeship.

I am going to use streetwise to find someone in town who actually knows how to quickly build an underwater trench. There has to be an engineer or captain with kind of experience (who at least knows more than we do). [dice=20]+9 =19+9=28[rand=9401689878175508725733072435886607160170470489587361069756461782]

He explains that grounding a ship isn't something that can be done quickly. The trench has to be dug as the tide is going out, then the ship sailed in and anchored. at high tide. Sometimes it takes more than one low tide to dig a deep enough trench. But he does remember one time about a decade ago where some adventures dug a trench while the tide was coming in using magic. He doesn't know what spells were used, but it looked impressive.

Bharash thinks a 4'x3' hole sounds doable. He will estimate how much wood he will need to completely repair an area that size.
"Harknail. I have worked out how much wood we need. Help me acquire it then we can row over to the ship with it and I can close the hole."

"Fine! lets row forth and sort it out" Harknail is quite willing to go, but isn't very good at rowing boats (untrained in athletics). But Harknail could be very handy if anything needs to be done outside the hole, since Harknail can't drown. Would anyone else like to volunteer to row them to the ship? If not, they can get their (using untrained athletics), just not as quickly.
