So do they appear vulnerable to fire, or was the creature just badly damaged before? The creature was just badly damaged before. Laira gets a free teleport as a result of it being destroyed.

Laira Elereth turns into mist and flows to F7.

The Ice Warrior at the railing above cries out something in a harsh language that is uncomfortable even to hear. Zachary recognizes the language has primordial. The creature's outburst roughly translates as "They killed Kenny! Let's get them!" Following words with actions, that Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler (#2) sends an Icicle Storm that spreads out from Harknail all the way from Zachary to almost reaching Gabe (burst 3 centered at F6). Persephone was able to dodge the icicles while Harknail was able to deflect them with the shield. But Zachary (crit), Zynthis, Thursagan, and Laira were hit (2 damage, 11 damage for Zachary). The next Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler (#3) moves to the opposite railing (F24) and launches his own Icicle Storm (burst 3 centered at F9). All but the Zachary and the Goblin Hexer fall within this ice storm. Zynthis and Bharash are hit (6 damage) The next Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler (#4) moves adjacent to the previous one (G24) and launches yet another Icicle Storm catching most of the group (burst 3 centered at F9). This one hit Zynthis, Laira, Thursagan, and Gabe (8 damage). The results of those onslaught of icicles was that both Laira and Zachary were all bloodied. Two of the remaining Ice Warrior Raiders (#6 and #7) rushed down to the base of the stairs where they attacked Zynthis and Harknail. But neither of them hit with their sharp blades of ice. They then tried encasing Zynthis and Harknail in ice. One of them succeeded in freezing Zynthis to the floor (immobilized, save ends), but the other was unable to do the same to Harknail. The third remaining Ice Warrior Raider (#8) reached the top of the stairs, but was unable to find any targets for his long sword of ice. The Ice Warrior Frostling (#1) moved up to the railing and spoke in a cold grating voice, saying in primordial "Then they shall all die." His approach was accompanied by an icy aura that made the two floors slippery (difficult terrain). He launched an Icy Burst centered on Laira (burst 1). This hit both Zynthis and Harknail (8 damage) but missed Laira and Thursagan. The chilly blast slowed both Harknail and Zynthis (save ends, failed save changes it to immobilized). From his vantage point Gabe can see more ice men crawling out of the fireplaces. "Reinforcements are coming," he warns. "They're crawling out of those blue flames". Sart back up all the way to the door. She managed to survive two icicle storms by sheer luck, she was hoping to avoid any others. Laira Elereth almost collapses from all of the onslaught, straightens and with a look of pure hate on her face strikes ice creature 4 with witchfire (preceded by a warlock curse), followed by a flaming sphere (also catching 3 and possibly dark blue 6 in the blast and using an action point). Witchfire: 19 vs ref for 11 fire damage and a -5 penalty to attacks [dice=20]+6=19 vs ref for [dice=6]+[dice=6]+5=11 fire damage Flaming sphere: 10 vs ref on 4 for 10 fire damage, 16 vs ref on 3 for 10 fire damage, 11 vs ref on 6 for 10 fire damage verses 4: [dice=20]+5+2=10 vs ref for [dice=6]+4 fire damage verses 3: [dice=20]+5+2=16 vs ref for 6+4 fire damage verses 6: [dice=20]+5+2=11 vs ref for 6+4 fire damage
and 2 curse damage on 4 if either attack hits it plus the 1 point of damage from placing the curse: [dice=6] Laira then moves to E9, taking 3 squares (G8,F9,E9) to do so in order to keep her concealment (and the +2 AC it represents), and spread out the party in case there are more area effect attacks. "Thursagan, cover this doorway.", Laira points with her rod to her left (towards creature red 3). I am presuming Laira does not have line of sight on 6 but she does on 4.In order to avoid having to ask who the different letters represent, would you mind putting them with each character on the status section? And who is A on the map?[rand=6510942142809656260921269146670744022397296592586527732252288712]

Zynthis reaches out with his hand and trips Blue 7 as he is coming down the stairway. Once he falls on his face, Zynthis jumps on his back and starts pounding him with his morning star.
That is what Zynthis would like to do but I'm not sure if all of that is possible in the D&D rules. Let me know what rolls I need to make and I'll post them.

"Thursagan, cover this doorway.", Laira points with her rod to her left (towards creature red 3). Laira curses one of the Ice Warriors above then afflicts him with Witchfire. A brilliant white flame summoned from the Feywild sets in Ice Warriors mind and body. Rivulets of argent fire stream up into the air from his eyes, his mouth, and his hands; agony disrupts his very thoughts. Needless to say, his accuracy will suffer greatly until he recovers. Laira follows this up with a Scorching Burst, carefully aimed to be just above Harknail's head so as to have a chance to hit the Ice Warrior on the stairs. Unfortunately he ducks and avoids the blast. The Warrior above suffering from Witchfire avoids the burst by sure luck, but the Warrior standing next to him isn't so lucky and feels the heat of the flames in full force. When Laira goes to move she finds that an extra chill in the air slowing her down, but still she manages to move enough to Shadow walk , giving her concealment from all of her foes. I am presuming Laira does not have line of sight on 6 but she does on 4. From her current position Laira has line of sight on all but Blue 2, Blue 8, and Red 1. However, all but Red 2 and Red 3 have cover, either from being above her or from the staircases. In order to avoid having to ask who the different letters represent, would you mind putting them with each character on the status section? And who is A on the map? OK, I've added the letters to the status section for the next update. In the meantime here is the Key: B = Bharash G = Gabe H = Harknail L = Laira S = Sanem P = Persephone T = Thursagan A = Zachery Z = Zynthis R = Sart X = Frost Goblin Hexer

That is what Zynthis would like to do but I'm not sure if all of that is possible in the D&D rules. Let me know what rolls I need to make and I'll post them. The only references to trip I can find are a 7th level Fighter power, and a magic item that trips when you crit. So no, this isn't covered by the rules. On the other hand, the rules do strongly recommend letting players do unusual things like this, and that the GM's should wing it
The biggest problem with the proposed action is that the Ice Warrior is no longer moving down the stairs. He stopped on the stairs to take some swings at Zynthis. He's only about 2 1/2 feet up at this point.
Hows this: Zynthis can try to grab an ankle and pull (STR vs Reflex). If successful the Ice Warrior will be prone at the bottom of the stairs (D5).
There also aren't any rules for jumping on someone. You can move into their square and still attack them, but that doesn't keep them from getting up again (crawling out from under you and standing in an adjacent square as a move action). So I'll give you these options: A) Stand over him and attack (with combat advantage because he's prone) B) Move to his square and "grab" him (going prone in the process), normally this would keep you from attacking him, but in this special case I'd allow it, though without any net advantage (you're prone as well). He could also attack back. C) Move to his square and go prone on top of him (minor action). Same as B but much easier for him to escape (you aren't positioned as well to pin him).
Option's A & C allow you to attack him this round using an action point. Option B requires using an action point just to grab and immobilize him. I recommend Option A to avoid putting yourself at a disadvantage.

Ok, I'll do option A. Strength vs Reflex: [dice=20]+5=9 I'll attack with action point if successful or not. Will use Devine Fortune. Healing Strike Blue 7(Action Point): [dice=20]+9+2(gabe)+1(devine fortune)=28 Damage:[dice=10][dice=10]+5=12 Effect if Hit: Blue 7 marked EoNT, Laria may spend a surge If I have a minor left, I will Healing Word myself. Healing Word Zynthis: [dice=6]+8+3=17 pts healing [rand=181397063547599772566740586494882567747376955329545566848738961485]

Zynthis tries to grab the foot of the Ice Warrior to send him falling down the stairs, but the Ice Warrior was able to move his foot in time to avoid being tripped. Zynthis followed this up with a Healing Strike, cracking his foe with radiant power while receiving a blessing from Corellon that allows him to heal Laira. Finally Zynthis heals himself. #7 is now bloodied

Yeouch! Crits hurt!Zachary will Scorching Burst F28 [dice=20] | +8 | = 26 vs Reflex Cyan 2 | [dice=20] | +8 | = 24 vs Reflex Blue 8 |
[dice=6] | +6 | = 8 fire damage |
Then, Zack will close the door with a minor action so that he has it as cover from any additional ice shard storms. While this cuts him off from help from the party until he opens it next turn, they have other people to heal. Rules question: Can bursts just go through cover like that, regarding the difficult terrain? Shouldn't the squares that were not in the line of effect (like, say, D3) be free? Zachary's Combat Status:
Health: HP 13/32 - Surges 6/7- Second Wind 1/1 - Action Points 1/1 Encounter Powers: Chill Strike 1/1, Staf of Defence 1/1 Daily Powers: Flaming Sphere 1/1 - Freezing Cloud 0/1 Utility: Shield 1/1 - Feather Fall 0/1 Basic melee: Staff +1, +4/1d8+1 [rand=881097677809720445688249132323198969197430480664325959099620419]

"Consider it done!". Thursagan will move to F9 and he will ready a tide of iron for the first enemy that crosses either door, both on his left and his right.
Do I roll it now, or should we wait until the trigger happens?

Zachary easily hit both of his targets. Once he closed the door, the chill abated someone (no longer difficult terrain). Good Point, I check how aura's spread around corners and update the map appropriately. Probably tomorrow night.Edit: Map updated, it was easier than I thought.

Agh! I knew I should have run outside! Also, recall I said Persephone wouldn't have moved given she didn't need to. Sanem will shoot on the run [nimble strike] at b7: [/spoiler] for: Shifting to e10 as he does so. Then he will take a full move going to g3 and making a stealth check at the end of the movement-trying to avoid OAs if possible, if not favoring enemies who are marked.(with a -5 penalty I think for moving-I don't know if I have superior cover there.. probably depends on if b7 is still alive) Stealth Check Wow, I hope I am allowed to stealth, wasting a 20 would make me a sad wood elf. Persephone will move to e3. If b7 is dead I will quarry b6 prior to my move (after attack.)[rand=22759916540269323558060954279524608669141518188849882857252564905]

I'll edit the post and remove the damage when I get a chance.

Something went wonky with the dice roller, so I had to modify my rolls as it didn't seem to add up. Either that or I need more coffee!

Gabe calls out to Harknail, "Attack!" and follows up by distracting the ice creature to Harknails side with a few shouts and jeers - generally unfriendly commentary about its mother - so that Harknail can get an opening (Commander's Strike, Basic attack on 6 by Harknail with +4 damage).
Gabe then carefully traverses the ice to G9 to guard the doorway against unwanted intrusions.

I think we have been working on the assumption that, because Commander's Strike has the melee keyword, you can only use it if both you and the character whom you are giving the attack to are in melee range of the target, which is why Gabe has a glave for reach.

Ack, I was confused due to tons of confusion around the power and every group I am in and have been in having varying house rules regarding the thing. That be the case, move Gabe into melee reach range of the target and issue the strike
