Zack will look into selling the books. Does Thurgasan have magic armor yet? Not yet, just the magic hammer. That is a good idea, I have to say

While folks are doing negotiations and such, Sanem will use his new found fame to mooch as much free wine as possible (preferably in bottles) until he wears out his welcome.

Zack suggests that anyone who is interested join him in collecting the other books once the road is clear. How many books were there?

There are a lot of books, although the valuable ones were already carried out. It will take quite a few trips up and down the stairs and elevator to transport all the books. 100 GP for the lot is a fair price. The books would go for more sold one by one to someone looking for that specific book, but that would take years as a traveling merchant.
Note that although large by fantasy standards, the actual amount of writing would be a very small library by modern standards. All the books are large (around 3 lbs more or less), with fewer thicker pages, and all are hand written (handwriting size varies widely). My collection of 4th Ed D&D books would take several large book cases instead of a single shelf if they were done that way. The combined content of all the books in the tower would be about as much material as 3rd and 4th editions combined.

Zynthis goes along too. He thinks he can find a book on dragons.

Raylynn is happy to join the expedition - anything to get out and get moving again. She expresses at some point a general unhappiness about staying in one place for more than a couple days.

Sanem will go as well, having had enough of the "big city" to last him a while.

The God of DM's slams shut his clapperboard and calls "Action!"
Seriously though, when are we starting our next adventure?

It takes another day before Sanem thinks the trail will be passible by a cart. During this time a buyer is found for the Asmodeus statue, a merchant who has a client for such things.
And when Harknail consults with historians, he finds that he's been underground for a very very long time. Harknail knew the country he served as Nerath, history remembered the name as Netheril, but they appeared to be one and the same. When Harknail last walked on the surface, there was a grand city known as Karse where the Ridge Wood stands today. And the Wizards tower he entered, before being trapped underground, was on a rocky coast. But when he emerged he found himself within a bay, the coast having moved hundreds of feet inland. Harknail had been trapped underground not for centuries, but for millennia. He was indeed a relic of a bygone age.
Meanwhile Gabe reconnects with his friend Doran. The two had traveled to Moonhaven, along with Sanem, on the ship "The Lovely Lass". After catching up with what Doran has been up to, Gabe informs the rest of the group that he won't be accompanying them further. His friend Doran needs his assistance, he says. Gabe remains vague on the details of what he needs assistance with and declines any offer of help from the rest of the group.
The next day, the remainder of the group, along with Raylynn, hires a cart and horses and sets off yet again for Draigdurroch's tower. The going is much faster this time. The path, although muddy, is far easier to travel on without a raging blizzard. The group arrives around noon to find an elf standing in front of the formerly frozen tower, looking up at it.
[tag all] I haven't heard any response from Bharash's player to a private e-mail. I hope nothing bad has happened to him. But I think we've waiting long enough so I'm going to contact a standby player (one of the previous players for Sanem).

"Shall we? Are there any rampant imp armies I need worry about gnawing at my ankles?" Raylynn asked as she gazed at the top of the tower, holding a hand to shield her eyes from the sun and squinting.

Zynthis greets the elf "Well met. I am Zynthis. Warmer day, isn't it?"

Crysun, which/what elf are you talking to? That would be the elf that was already here looking at the tower when the group arrived.

Y'know, I read that last paragraph three times after reading Crysun's post, and one before making mine - and not once did the letters 'elf' register in my brain.
I think it's time to stop the caffeine intake.. or maybe I need to up the dosage :S

"Well met Zynthis. I'm Elzyru from Myaith. It has indeed gotten warmer after that unexpected freeze. I was heading to Moonhaven for help, but I noticed that the frozen tower wasn't frozen anymore."
