Thursagan walks along the cart, silent. He is trying to recall what his grandfather told him about weak spots on dragons.

Zachary slaps his hand to his face. "Ugh. Dragons. Any chance we can get an unbiased account of how big it is? You know, just to have an idea of how suicidal marching into town will be. Has it swallowed anyone in one gulp?"

Sanem will redouble his efforts to get everything stowed, so that the party can start as soon as possible.

Elzyru answered questions as best he could. "I don't know where it was, but the trail of such a large group looked easy to follow. I didn't see the dragon myself, but some told me that it was about the size of a horse, others, that it was twice that size. I can attested that it didn't eat someone in a single gulp." He pauses a moment on the gruesome memory before continuing, "There were... pieces left over." With more conviction he adds, "Green dragons breath a cloud a poison gas."

"Do you or your kin know where it lairs, or have any idea on where we could begin the hunt - unless of course it left a convenient trail of blood and decay - a starting point will be helpful." Raylynn smiled, getting excited again by the prospect of dragon hunting. A challenge perhaps worthy of her time.

Sart's command of common isn't good, but she gets the idea that they are going to another adventure rather than return with the books. Trying to be helpful, she suggests, "Put cart in tower? Sart lock tower, keep safe till return we?"
With both doors open, there is room to park the cart in inside. The group would travel faster without having to drag the cart through mud. Those who know how far it is (Zynthis, Laira, and maybe Zach) would know that without the cart, they'll probably reach town by nightfall. With the cart, they'll probably need to make camp.

Zachary looks regretfully at the cart full of books as he helps pack it away in the tower. "Sigh. Oh, well. Let's hurry up and poach this dragon so we can deliver these books."

Zynthis nods to Sart and helps Zachary put the cart into the tower. "Anyone know the best defense against poisonous gas clouds? Can we just wear something over our mouths?"

Raylynn also assists with the cart, using some odds and ends she found in the tower to construct a pair of elaborate wedge devices to shove under the wheels to prevent it from rolling in the event of a catastrophic earthquake (and for the sole purpose of making something).
She turns to Zynthis, "I'll put my mind to it, I'm sure I can work up a concoction to protect against the dragon's poison." She turned to the elf and asked, "Have you any alchemists in your home? I think I may need to consult one to acquire a recipie or two to assist with the slaying of the dragon and acquisition of dragon scale undergarments." The last bit she said under her breath, barely audible, as an afterthought.

Harknail answers, "I know prayer that might help ye." Specifically the Divine Mettle version of Channel Divinity, grants an extra saving throw at +2

Laira Elereth responds, "Well it seems we won't have the time to lay a proper ambush or trap for the dragon. A few of us are going to need to scout ahead if we don't want to walk through every kobold ambush on the way and let the dragon know we're coming.
So how many kobolds are we going to be fighting, Elzyru?"
How many elves lived in the town? Also if we know the area better than the kobolds, would we know where they are likely to set up ambushes which we can either avoid or pick off?

Raylynn rubs her chin for a minute and her eyes suddenly light up, "I got it! If I just mixed some heckler toad venom with a glass of elven wine... no not quite..." she eyed Harknail for a moment and grinned, "A bit of rust! A dash of rust to be precise!" She spun on her heel, brimming with excitement and turned to face Zynthis, "Gimme an hour and I can whip up a few Potions of Resistance.. Gimme two and they won't taste like the underside of a sewer rat."

Maybe we need to be spread out when we approach the dragon." Zynthis replies. Meanwhile someone mentions kobolds and Zynthis ears perk up.

Elzyru answered, " I didn't get a number of kobolds, other than that there were a lot of them. I did find half a dozen kobold bodies that had been left behind." It's a small villiage of about 200, smaller than the human town of Moonhaven, larger than the shifter community.

"Well I think we can handle one green baby wyrmling. Is everyone ready? Ok then Elfsieroo, lead the way!" Zynthis says being not able to remember how to pronounce his name. Zynthis was simply horrible with names.

The group locks the cart inside the tower. They still have the two draft horses to deal with, but now that they aren't being asked to drag a cart though muddy ground, they don't slow down the group.
Heading out following Elzyru and Laira, the group makes it's way to Myaith, arriving there as the sun sets. Myaith is a town in the trees, with mighty tree limbs and rope bridges connecting the homes. Very defensible against anything that can't climb. But that didn't protect it from kobolds and a dragon.
The town is still dealing with the aftermath of the attack, but perhaps still reeling would be a better description. There is much grieving, both for the dead, and those taken. Including the town elder, whose daughter had been taken. There are some efforts to prepare for a followup attack, but they are uncoordinated.

Zynthis asks Elzyru "Does the dragon fly? How did it get up on those trees?"
Zynthis had the misconception that only older dragons flew.

Thursagan asks for any warrior that participated in the defense of the town, to gather more precise information on the number and tactics of the attackers.

Zack breaks out his notebook and jots down notes about anything that looks like damage or physical signs of the attack (including quick notes about he kinds of injuries any of the inhabitants have), though poison breath may leave less obvious traces than fire or ice (something like a large patch of dead leaves on a tree might give him a clue). He will try to make conjectures about the size of the dragon, the armament of the Kobolds, and glean any useful information he can about the nature of their offensive capabilities.
