Sanem will aid the villagers in clean up looking around on the ground, while having Persephone patrol the skies, if she sees any sign of the dragon or kobolds from the air, she will come back and indicate to Sanem which direction she saw them. Zynthis asks Elzyru "Does the dragon fly? How did it get up on those trees?" Elzyru answered, "Yes, Green dragons can fly through foliage better than creatures of fraction of its size.”

Thursagan asks for any warrior that participated in the defense of the town, to gather more precise information on the number and tactics of the attackers. The five warriors that attempted to defend the town are all dead. They did manage to slay a full dozen kobolds before falling however. The reports from the survivors vary widely both on the size of the Dragon and how many kobolds were involved. Going by the assumption that exaggeration was likely but understating was not, most likely the dragon was large. Estimating the numbers of kobolds is harder because most of the townsfolk did not see all of the kobolds all at one time. Somewhere between one and three dozen surviving kobolds is the best guess Thursagan can come up with.

Sanem will aid the villagers in clean up looking around on the ground, while having Persephone patrol the skies, if she sees any sign of the dragon or kobolds from the air, she will come back and indicate to Sanem which direction she saw them. There is no sign of either Dragon or kobold nearby, but the trail where they left it is quite obvious on the ground. Dozens of footsteps on muddy ground makes for an easy trail to follow. I can't answer Zachary's question yet, I haven't assembled the actual encounters yet. But the kobolds are not armed with anything unusual for kobolds.
We might as well continue using this thread for preparations. It will create a new threat when combat is imminent.

Raylynn simply sits back and observers the others preparations, quietly minding her own business and going over alchemical recipes in her head, working out if she can create anything more useful than the potions of resistance she'd offered up earlier.
"Anybody know anything about green dragons. I'm not asking about their breath, or anything we've already discussed - but I'm curious about their lairs. Any ideas what kind of environment they tend to live in, it might give us an idea about what to expect." She turns to their elven guide, "And I'm presuming this is the first you've seen of the beast, have you any reason to suspect it will attack again, or are we better of going on a dragon hunt?"

Lairaunwen Elereth gathers herself and calmly says, "We should do what little we can, and rest for a bit before pursuing the kobolds. They won't be expecting it so soon and we might actually be able to return some of the prisoners alive."

The elven elder came to them and pleaded, "Please, I beseech you. Please find my daughter and bring her back."

Perception + 4 = 5 Zynthis can't find any dragon footprints, but he can find were a lot of people left the elven village on foot. Well, he could once it was pointed out to him. Zynthis is concerned for his own people as well. The village of shifters is even smaller than the elven village, and isn't that far away.

Laira Elereth stands (she was slumped over resting earlier) and proclaims to the elder, "Don't worry, we will slay the dragon and save everyone!", before boldly striding off in the direction of the tracks left by the captives. Raylynn checks her pack and pouches to ensure they've got all her components still, bends and collects a few fistfuls of pebbles and grass and puts them into one of her pouches. She then takes a moment to scrawl some indecipherable scripts onto the front of her armor. Satisfied that she herself was now prepared she turned to the others, "Shall we?" and she headed off after Laira.

Just to confirm. The group has been on the road since morning, it is now early evening. Do you want to start tracking the kobolds and dragon tonight? With the Wizard and the recently given Moon Shield of Silver Light you have plenty of light for a night time excursion, even more if someone wants to use a sunrod or two. And did anyone claim the Moon Shield of Silver Light?42

Yes tracking tonight. Wasn't planning on using any light sources though since we have low-light vision and don't want to be a dead giveaway to the kobolds that we're coming.

Yes tracking tonight. Wasn't planning on using any light sources though since we have low-light vision and don't want to be a dead giveaway to the kobolds that we're coming. Deep forests are pretty dark at night. There may be some sections were even low light vision isn't enough. On the other hand, most of the time low light vision will be enough. On the plus side, those would also be the area's where the light wouldn't be visible from very far.I needed to stop and remember the game makes things easier than they would be in reality. Low light gives you penalties to hit targets, but not to movement. In real life, it's really hard for a human like Zachary to move though a forest at night. To many roots and other trip hazards that are very hard to see in dim light. But this is a low reality game, so you're fine
This is unexpected (I thought you'd take an extended rest and prepare), but its a very good call on your parts.

The trail started out easy to follow, at least those who could see well in dim light, which was most of the group. Only Zachary and Harknail had trouble seeing, they concentrated on watching their feet and keeping up with the others.
After about 2 hours, the trail went into an area of especially deep foliage, dense enough that the area would be dim even at noon. With only the half moon in the sky, it was too dark for anyone to see.
Zachary urges care, it is places like this that are most likely to connect to the Feywild.
Following a trail left by several dozen in muddy ground. It's been a day, but no additional precipitation. And it seems that someone was deliberately breaking twigs to point the way. If there was ever a trail that could be followed with passive perception this is it!
How do you want to deal with the dark patch? Bright light? Or does someone have a dim source of light?42

Prestidigitation can't be used to duplicate Mage Light, but could it be used, say, to cause obstacles in the path, like rocks, roots, and puddles, to glow faintly? A little bit of Hansel and Gretel?

Where did this Moon Shield come from again? I must have missed it. It was a reward from Moonhaven for saving their town (again) is. It is a large metal shield with the ability glow brightly at will. It also has special benefits when fighting lycanthropes.
