2.7 Into the den

Zachary will follow behind Raylynn. If it becomes necessary to light the way (Zack doesn't have low-light vision), he will cast light out in front of the party.
Still, it would be nice to have a map grid for this, even if it is all blacked out.

Okay, now what is the hold-up?

Adding a new player before you go in.

Just as the rest of the group was about to enter the cave, they heard a hail from above. Looking up they could see it dwarf peering at them from the top of the cliff, about 40 feet over their heads (50 feet over the forest floor).

Tag all

[Jolith]

Yelling down in Dwarven and obviously directing his words at the Dwarf amongst the group. "You alright brother? I see you travel in strange company and I hope none of these others are giving you problems."

Orsik begins to make his way down the cliff, either by finding a good path, or walking around to a safer location. He knows that he isn't strong enough or skilled enough to scale a cliff.

Orsik doesn't see any way down other than climbing down a sheer cliff. He does find a good place to anchor a rope though. He could go down but would have to leave his rope behind.

If he used a grapple, could Persephone unhook it once his weight is no longer on the rope?1.9.0.18

Zack: "Well, I do know a spell that would be useful in these kinds of circumstances... but I didn't memorize it today. That wasn't very helpful, was it?"

Raylynn looks up, shakes her head and calls out "How'd ya get up there if you can't get down?" she mumbled to herself, "silly dwarf. "

[Jolith]

"How'd I get up here?" Orsik chuckles, "Over the top of course! I came from the other side!"

"Well, it'll take me a minute to get down. My big belly and weak arms tend to not like climbing too much."

Finding a spot to tie off his rope, he'll start to make his way down to the group below.

"To far away for me to untie it with mage hand," Zack sighs. "Though I suppose I could try to dislodge it with magic missile."

Raylynn scoffs, "I'm offended that you're fretting so much over a hempen rope. It's just some twine all knotted up, nothing miraculous by any means. And I've got fifty feet myself, I think we'll be fine without it." She seems to be taking Zack's interesting in preserving the rope personally.

[Ogremind]

Zack: "It's the principle of the thing: you don't go throwing away perfectly good rope when you don't have to. Unless we wanted to climb back up to the top for whatever reason."

[Michael]

"I'm more annoyed that he's making so much noise." Laira Elereth retorts and then heads deeper into the cave.
She is speaking very quietly so that while Raylynn, Zynthis, Zachory and some of the others can hear her, the kobolds and dwarf probably can't.

[harknail]

Harknail comments, "We be hunting dragon and kobolds. Why be thou about?"

Raylynn shrugs and follows Laira, determined to keep her unspoken promise to guide the warlock and lead her into the cave.

[Jolith]

"Well, hunting dragons and kobolds is a worthy cause. I'm here on a rumor, that I now assume is false. If there are kobolds and dragons in the cave then I doubt there are Orcus members about. If it's ok with you all, I'd like to accompany you into the cave, to make sure their kind aren't here helping those kobolds."

After making it to the ground, Orsik will look up at the rope and shrug. "Well, at least if we need to head over the top we have a way up!"

Looking over the group, "The name is Orsik, devoted follower of the Raven Queen. Pleased to meet you all."
