Hearing Raylynn's command to follow, Orsik does just that and stays next to her. After seeing her familiar attaching items to his staff he levels it at the three fighting to the right wall and channels his inner energy into lightning that splits the air and strikes down upon the kobolds. Orsik moves to L6 and uses Lightning's Revelation on the three kobolds.Lightning's Revelation (w/bonus from Raylynn) [B6,G4, then O9] [dice=20] | +9 | = 28 vs Reflex | [dice=20] | +9 | = 17 vs Reflex | [dice=20] | +9 | = 19 vs Reflex |
Damage (w/ bonus from Raylynn) [dice=6][dice=6] | +12 | = 21 Lightning Damage |
Note: The damage is calculated as such, 5 from Wisdom, 1 from Magic Weapon, 3 from class ability (+1 per enemy attacked with encounter power), and 3 from Raylynn's power. Effect: Any creature hit takes a -3 penalty to ALL defenses.[rand=934932185649645153741231153688574058399382277675406757110177209213]

Orsik is probably not going to have Orange 9 as a target, because Zack just hit her.

Ahh, yes. Orange 9 is a minion isn't it. Well then Orsik will only deal 20 damage to the other two (if they are hit), as I do one less damage since I only targeted two people and not three.

I am not sure if Green 4 would be standing. If so, Thursgan will target him, if not, he will move to N10 and target blue 6. He is using crushing surge. If it hits, Thursagan will gain 3 temp HP. He also marks the enemy, whoever is the target.

Sanem draws an arrow, but holds his action, ready to strike if any new enemy joins the fight.

Raylynn stepped up beside Sanem, "Orsik, on me!" she called to the dwarf, as her crossbow self loaded another bolt and she brought her arm up and took aim. Before he had a chance to move she threw a vial of blue liquid at him, it smashed on his chest and the healing fluid slowly patched up his wounds. She then loosed her bolt once he was at her side, her familiar attaching devices to Orsik's staff and Sanem's arrows that would - if they worked properly - increase the force of impact of spell and arrow alike. The blue liquid worked it's magic and healed Orsik. Her attachments on the other hand did not work as planned and provided no benefit. Raylynn herself also missed her target.

Zack moves to M7, and, after glancing up at the elven prisoners who were about to be eaten, grits his teeth and lets flaming death engulf most of the remaining kobolds. The flame washes over all of them, but where the kobold men were just singed, the kobold woman let out a piercing scream as she was burned to death. The Kobold Pickman looks at Zachary with death in his eye. Orsik, Zachary, and Zynthis realize that she must have had some special significance to surviving Solder. I show the action point as being used. I checked the old logs and found it was used at the same round as the chill strike to follow it up with a magic missile. That was on page 4 I think.

After seeing her familiar attaching items to his staff he levels it at the three fighting to the right wall and channels his inner energy into lightning that splits the air and strikes down upon the kobolds. Lightning strikes both of the surviving kobolds in that area. The Kobold Wyrmpriest joins the ranks of the dead, but the Kobold Pikeman is too mad to notice the damage. He's hit, just not bloodied. Damage was only 17 because Raylynn missed and so her bonuses didn't work, and there were only 2 targets left.

Thursagan's Craghammer crashing into the kobold was not something he could ignore by hatred alone. The blow left the kobold bloodied. Like it or not he had to pay attention to Thursagan.

Sanem draws an arrow, but holds his action, ready to strike if any new enemy joins the fight. Sanem waits for any new enemies to appear, ready to shoot the next new kobold that shows itself.

Harknail issues a Divine Challenge to the kobold he has cornered, then attacks it with a Holy Smite. He hits a solid blow, but not quite enough to bloody the kobold.53

Zack went into this battle with two action points, so he still has one to use next battle.

Laira Elereth curses kobold cyan 7, moves to N2 and then strikes him with another eyebite. 18 vs will for 9 psychic damage and a tenth for the curse. [dice=20]+4+1+1+1=18 vs will for [dice=6]+[dice=6]+4+1=9 psychic damage. This provokes an attack of opportunity, although he is divinely challenged and will take damage if he takes advantage of it. "Orsik, Zachary, and Zynthis realize that she must have had some special significance to surviving Solder." This provokes an attack of opportunity, although he is divinely challenged and will take damage if he takes advantage of it. "Orsik, Zachary, and Zynthis realize that she must have had some special significance to surviving Solder." Beyond being female? The Kobold considers striking at the nice soft elf, but realizes that between the cave wall and the big hulking golem that she'd be almost as hard to hit as the golem is. He decides it's not worth getting blasted. Instead he hid back in his niche. That might have helped if Laira was using a sword, but all she had to do was poke her wand around the corner to painfully rip her image from the kobolds mind. Not that it matters, Laira hit by a wide margin. But where does the third +1 come from? I see CHR, 1/2 level, and enhancement bonuses, what am I missing?
While Laira is insightful enough to pick up on what's happening with the kobold solder, she's on the far side of the room and concentrating on the kobold there. Still it's more than just that she's the last kobold woman, it's more along the lines of she was HIS kobold woman.

I re-read the cover rules, and it turns out that there is no cover for melee attacks of adjacent attackers around a corner. The "touching" rule is only for line of effect, so melee can proceed without hindrance.

I think that it was added in the first DM book, along with the saving throws to avoid enter difficult terrain and other optional rules for those tricky situations

Using those rules, attacking around a corner provides cover to melee attacks but not ranged attacks. That's the rule I've been using. Feel free to use it to your advantage

That is jaw droopingly stupid. Do you realize that this means that, if you are facing a 3 square wide dragon, you have cover from it if there happens to be a pillar next to it on the same side of it as you, even if you aren't next to the pillar? Heck, if a party of 8 surrounds a two square wide monster on all of its faces, all of them would have cover from it.
